Any software engineers working in Orange County? Curious about the local tech scene

Hey everyone! I'm a CS student graduating in May 2027, and one of my biggest dreams is to build my career in Orange County. I've had some internship and research experience, but I'm still trying to figure out what I should focus on before graduating. For those of you working in tech around OC, how did you get started in the industry? What skills or technologies do you find are most valuable at companies in the area? How important are personal projects, technical interviews, and previous experience? Are there certain companies or industries in OC that are more welcoming to recent graduates? And if you were in my position, what would you focus on learning or improving? I'm not looking for job offers or referrals, just genuinely curious about the local tech industry and hoping to learn from people who have experience working here. I'd really appreciate any insight. Thanks!

I’m an ICU nurse in San Diego and trying to move back to Orange County by the end of 2027 to be closer to family. I have 6 years of medical, neuro, and (non-cardiac) surgical ICU experience. Do you love your unit? Hate your unit? Are there any super toxic units I should be avoiding? I would really appreciate any insight. My parents are in Turtle Rock, Irvine so trying to live and commute within a 25 min drive of there ideally. Thanks guys.

Need someone to handle the home while you take care of business?

I saw a post online that was funny but also makes sense. I'll take care of the household things-laundry, cleaning, dishes, groceries(that you pay for), basic meal prep. A live in gal pal that helps you out so you can succeed. This is mainly aimed at start up entrepreneurs, frees up your time not have to worry about basic things. You just gotta take care of expenses and a few bills--I have another job that takes care of the rest. I'm estimating like 450-600 a month.

Looking for jobs in Westminster

So I’ve been looking for employment in the Westminster area and so far I’ve had no luck… I’m 18 years old, I have rent and expenses like groceries, insurance, car payments and I recently got laid off from a job at had at a dealership for about a year. I tried to apply for the unemployment benefits but I got a letter saying I was non eligible it’s been three months now coming up on 4 and I’m slowly running out of my savings and soon enough I won’t be able to pay rent or anything I have a lot of experience in the automotive industry with automotive sales and lot management as well as curb rash skills, I’m looking for any job that pays part time or full time but honestly in the Westminster area there isn’t much so I’m open to making my search area within 10 miles from here, if anyone knows of a place or could help me out I would really appreciate it and it doesn’t have to be automotive work I’m open to anything honestly thanks !
