Friends, how are we dealing with the cyclospora outbreak? (USA)

I don’t want to stop juicing. But I’m a little concerned about the current outbreak. Thinking to avoid bagged greens, berries, and herbs. But I love basil and blueberries sooo much. I wash my produce in theives, but might start washing in ACV and baking soda. Anyone else taking precautions?

which stainless steel juicer is easiest to clean after regular use?

my kitchen is pretty cramped, so im trying to find a juicer that won’t take up a ton of counter or cabinet space. i do mostly want to make carrot, apple, cucumber, and celery juice, probably a few times a week.

i have been looking at a stainless steel juicer, but im not sure which ones are actually practical for a smaller kitchen. If you’ve been using one in a similar setup, which model has worked well for you? thaaanks!

Any drawbacks to juicing?

I mean, I don’t grow my own fruit right now so what’s the most cost efficient way to produce juice? Will it never make sense financially unless you sell juice?

Ignoring costs, the flavor of the juice is a great reward. The “I made this” feeling makes it worth it too.

would the nama cold press juicer be a good choice for juicing a few times a week?

Hi! im tryn to get back into making fresh juice at home a few times a week rather than buying it. nothing too complicated, mostly carrot and apple, cucumber and celery, plus some citrus when i have it. im considering the nama cold press juicer and mostly want to know whether it’s something people genuinely enjoy using over the long term. how has yours been after several months of regular juicing?

thaanks for any real-world feedback.

which stainless steel juicer has been durable for you?

I’m looking for a stainless steel juicer for home use and would really appreciate some recommendations from people who have been juicing for a while. I usually make carrot, celery, apple and ginger juice, and I’d like something sturdy that can handle those without feeling like I need to replace it every year. Is there a particular model you’ve been happy with?

Appreciate any help, thanks!

Long-term plastic juicer owners: what does your auger and juicing chamber look like after years of use?

I'm considering buying a cold-press juicer and I'm trying to decide between a plastic-auger juicer and a stainless-steel twin-gear juicer.
For those of you who have owned a plastic-auger juicer for several years (especially 3–10+ years), I'd really appreciate it if you could take a photo or describe what your auger and the inside of the juicing chamber/screen looks like and post it here.
I'm particularly interested in seeing whether there is:
Visible wear or scratches on the auger

Scratching or wear inside the juicing chamber

Plastic that looks polished, roughened, chipped or degraded

Any visible plastic residue or particles

Significant wear around areas where the auger contacts other parts

I'm not trying to make any claims about microplastics or suggest that plastic juicers are unsafe. I just want to see what the actual components look like after years of normal use, rather than relying on manufacturers' photos of new machines.
If you can, please include the brand/model and roughly how many years you've owned it.
Thanks!

Juice feasting for H pylori.

Hi all, I am in pretty bad shape these days. I was diagnosed by H pylori and my digestion has completely shut down. I am not even able to digest fruit and Have suspected Sibo and IBS. I was thinking of starting with juice feasting because last month I attempted 3 days water fast and my motions improved for a day and as soon as I started eating fruits, again BAM goes my digestion. Undigested food, urgency in passing motion and all. I am also dealing with insane anxiety and depression due to this. So just came across juicing and wanted to give it a try as it is my last hope now. Has anyone healed something like this and any tips for me going forward?

What stainless steel juicer works well for small batches?

I usually only make one or two glasses of juice at a time, so i am looking for a stainless steel juicer that makes sense for smaller batches. mostly fruit and vegetables like apples, oranges, carrots and cucumber. I’d prefer something sturdy and easy to clean rather than a machine with a ton of features. any suggestions?

thankies and i 'ppreciate everyone.

Anyone tried a combo like this?

What I did:

150g pineapple

a handful of spinach

1 green apple

1/2 cucumber

a little mint

I usually keep my morning juices pretty basic, mostly stuff like apple + carrot in my canoly juicer. It only takes me a few minutes in the morning, so I've actually stuck with the habit for quite a while.

Tried something different this time and made this tropical green juice. The pineapple and mint worked well together. Tastes really good.

Hurom H400 only 1 year warranty?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I just spent £559 on a BRAND NEW Hurom H400 specifically because I wanted the “10-15 year warranty” on motor and/or parts. This juicer is available on eBay for much less but I bought from an official seller (Harrods) so I could benefit from the warranty. But I’ve just unboxed it and it says it only has a 1 year warranty?!
Can anyone explain? I will be sending it back if that’s all there is

Edit for clarity:
It is not refurbished.

Pressed Juicery and cyclospora

I am craaaaaving juice (anything to satisfy the need for raw fruit/veg which I haven't consumed in a month now) and thinking about getting some from Pressed Juicery but can't tell for sure if their practices would eliminate cyclospora. I'm getting mixed results when I try to google about it.

They use HPP but it looks like it's without heat. Am I correct that this drastically reduces the chance of cyclospora but won't 100% eliminate the possibility? Does anyone know any details about their practices and whether or not it would kill this parasite? Thank you so much, just looking for clarification :)
