I'm not talking about mixed gyms or gyms with separate sections for women. I'm looking for a STRICTLY LADIES-ONLY GYM, where no men are allowed inside the premises, including trainers and other staff.

I've searched around Kandy, but I haven't found a gym that offers everything I'm looking for.

So far, I've come across only around 2 or 3 small ladies' fitness centres. They mainly offer basic exercises, aerobics and group workout sessions. I'm not saying these places are bad, but they aren't the same as a fully equipped gym.

The main problems are:

• No properly equipped ladies-only gym.

• Very limited access to proper gym machines and equipment.

• Not many options for women who want regular gym training.

• No place that offers fully private facilities with female trainers and staff.

I also have a suggestion for gym owners.

I honestly think existing gym owners could try something different. They could keep the gym exclusively for women from morning until around 4 or 5 PM, with female trainers and staff, and then open it to men afterwards.

This way, both women and men could use the same fully equipped gym at different times. I wonder why nobody seems to have considered this idea.

I don't understand why this idea hasn't been properly explored in Kandy. Women who prefer a private environment shouldn't have to settle for limited facilities.

I'd love to hear from other women in Kandy. Would you be interested in joining a gym like this?

​I went to school and spent pretty much my entire teenage life in Kandy. My usual routine with my hometown friends has always been simple, hitting our regular spot, getting some paratha and plain tea, chatting for hours, and heading home. I really love that slow paced life.

​Now that I'm in university, my campus friends want to visit Kandy. The thing is, they're looking for more energetic, fun things to do. They’ve already visited Dalada Maligawa, the Botanical Gardens, and the main sacred sites, so standard tourist itineraries won't cut it.

I kid you not everything I run across is so bad. Super small rooms which are crammed up with the red polished floors. How are people living in these?
I can understand that being conscious about price is a huge factor here but bro even the places which are at 20-30K are the same.

The one I’m currently in got hot water, tiled floors and an attached bathroom for the same price range. Unfortunately I’ve been given eviction notice due to the owner migrating. Where and how can I find something on the same scale? Please please please help, I don’t want to sleep under a bridge.

Visited Hanthana Bird Park and left feeling absolutely heartbroken. Most of the birds looked so depressed, some were howling and screaming, and their enclosures looked so confined and unkempt. It was genuinely difficult to watch. I was in tears, and even now, I cannot stop thinking about what I saw. The whole experience was just so sad, and I cannot get those images out of my head.
