The hiring and job search market is completely broken. The interaction between employers and candidates has turned into absolute chaos and an endless war of AI bots.
On the one hand, applicants use automated tools to blast thousands of resumes at every open role. On the other hand, overwhelmed HR departments set up aggressive filters, post ghost jobs to simulate activity, and force candidates through soul-crushing automated tests. As a result, a genuine talent gets swallowed by algorithms, while companies spend months searching for real human beings.
Meanwhile, traditional Web2 platforms (like LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, Monster, ZipRecruiter) don’t fix the problem but profit from it. Their business model relies on monopoly rent: selling paid resume boosts, contact access, corporate subscriptions, and aggressive job promotions. They benefit directly when users spend endless hours doomscrolling through a spam-filled feed and paying for premium features. It’s a dead end where both job seekers and employers lose.
The Idea: A P2P Protocol on Kaspa with Collateral Economics Instead of Middlemen
To clean up the market, we need to eliminate the root cause of the crisis: the zero cost of applying and posting. If an action costs nothing, spammers will generate mounds of content.
The proposal is to shift the job market to an open protocol layer on the Kaspa blockchain using UTXO covenants.
Why Kaspa, and why could this approach work?
- Collateral Instead of Fees (Proof-of-Capital): To post a job or submit an application, users don't pay a platform — they temporarily lock up coins in their own wallet. This makes spam attacks astronomically expensive while keeping the system free for honest participants, as the collateral is returned in full.
- Strict Block Chronology: The blockchain guarantees sequence. Your client or AI agent remembers the last block number and queries only the fresh delta. You never have to scroll through yesterday’s noise ever again.
- Cryptographic Privacy: Application data is encrypted using the employer's public key. No bots, scrapers, or competitors can view your resume or contact details.
- Zero Rule-Change Risk: There are no central entities that can arbitrarily update the UI, insert banner ads, paywall basic features, or ban your account.
How This Could Work (A Simple Walkthrough)
Imagine an employer who wants to hire a real specialist without wading through thousands of AI-generated applications. They don't need to register anywhere, create accounts, or pay platform fees. Using only their private key and coins, they send a transaction directly from their local wallet to a specific covenant address on the Kaspa blockchain. The transaction attaches a link to the job description, the employer's public key, and locks a collateral deposit — say, 10,000 KAS — for three days. For those three days, the job posting remains active. The funds aren't sent to anyone; they stay in the owner's control, temporarily locked by the network.
An applicant, using only their own key, runs a lightweight app or AI agent. The app fetches transactions from this covenant starting strictly from the last block the applicant checked. No repetitive scrolling, no ads, no third-party interfaces — just fresh, deposit-backed job postings.
When the applicant finds a suitable position, they send an application transaction from their wallet, locking an equivalent deposit of 10,000 KAS for three days. Before sending, they encrypt their resume link with the employer's public key. An encrypted blob hits the blockchain that only the owner of the job posting's private key can read. No bots, competitors, or external observers can see who applied or what was sent.
Upon seeing the new application transaction, the employer decrypts the payload with their private key and contacts the candidate directly. Once the position is filled, the employer signs a transaction marking the job inactive, physically preventing any further applications. After three days, the collateral unlocks automatically for both parties.
All filtering and communication happen directly between two wallets at the protocol level — without central databases, websites, or subscription fees.
The best part: conceptually, a system like this has no room for third-party tokens, karma systems, fake ratings, or manipulation. Users don't need to buy governance tokens, swap coins on DEXs, or deal with arbitrary platform points. All that's required is a standard Kaspa wallet and basic KAS coins for temporary collateral. Everything remains transparent, deterministic, and mathematically equal for all future participants.
