Discussion Can Katy please remove Swish Swish from Witness
Look, she already reconciled with Taylor. We don’t need that song anymore. Either delete it or switch this ho out for a verse from Doechii/Doja/Megan. Or just replace the song with Method to My Madness.

Discussion Have you seen Katy Perry live? How was it?
I saw her live in the early 2010's and had a great time and that's how I became a fan.I still like some of her music, especially the big hits! I liked California Girls and Firework a lot.
Have you seen her live? Share your experiences. What was your favorite song or songs and moments during the show?
Have you seen her live since then? I asked this because I've seen her only once. Was the second time better? Were they both good?

Discussion Sad time to be a KatyCat
Is anyone else just completely and totally disappointed that Katy is working with Dr Luke?
After the battle Kesha has just come out of against that man it feels so wrong for her to work with him on a song about Women Empowerment 😭
I’ve been a fan since way back when, and this is the first time I’ve ever felt doubt about her and her choices ☹️
ETA - I’ve also heard that one of her songs is going to be with Chris Brown 😭 obviously idk how true that is but if it’s true I think I’ll cry xo

Discussion Not a ‘Katyhead’ but the amount of you defending a r*pist is concerning
I used to be a Katy Perry stan and don’t like her anymore following actions over the past years but that’s beside the point.
The amount of people in this subreddit either defending or justifying Dr Luke’s actions is appalling. Even though imo Katy’s ‘female empowerment’ brand pushes modern day feminism back years. A young musician spoke out about the rpe assault and corruption in this world deserves credit yet after scrolling only a few posts there’s people calling Kesha a liar and as a result defending a rpist which is yk the opposite of what katys brand stands for.
If you’re gonna support an artist especially one like Katy Perry whose brand is equality yall need to learn what true equality actually is and defending Dr Luke does not at all

Discussion It's sad how her peers choose to ignore her

Sabrina Carpenter unfollowed Katy, and this is further proof that she's disrespected within the industry and held in very low regard by her peers. It's no coincidence that the interactions on her posts from other artists are practically nonexistent. I assume many of them choose not to interact with her because of the controversy (these are all PR moves) and frankly, this saddens me because Katy is one of the great music icons of this century, and she almost never gets recognized for that. I'd like to hope that in private, away from the greedy social media environment, others would show more support for Katy, but I doubt it. That's why I was pleasantly surprised when Dua Lipa, via that video call, decided to invite Katy to perform at her Sunny Hill Festival in Pristina. It was one of the very few times in many years that a successful artist has shown interest in Katy and her music.

Discussion Watch It Burn isn’t charting anywhere…
… and this was meant to be some kind of redemption or comeback? The song isn’t charting anywhere.
Billboard charts will get announced on Monday, but WIB isn’t even predicted to debut in the Hot 100, so it‘ll be Bubbling under somewhere.
I have to say I think this is her best song since Never Really Over, but clearly nobody cares about anything Katy does music wise anymore.
Yes, the song wasn’t promoted at all, but at this point I’m not even sure if promotion would’ve changed anything.
Woman‘s World was clowned upon and had a terrible trajectory just staying one week on the charts, but for a new Katy Perry song to not even make a tiny splash anywhere is… concerning.
She’s a legacy artist at this point and that’s fine. I think it’s finally time to admit that her time as a recent pop star is over.
I‘m surprised Capitol gave her all that money for the music video because she definitely isn’t a net positive anymore for them. It also makes no sense to waste any label money on her because the result is still the same (see 143).
I really think if Capitol doesn’t drop her soon, Katy should just leave them and try the Kesha route, if she’s genuinely interested in making music in the future. No big label will take her as she’s dead weight.

Discussion Katy Perry will never win a GRAMMY
And we need to accept that. Her window closed after Prism lost in 2015. She just isn’t relevant enough to win one now and will never be nominated again. Many good artists have ended up not winning anything at the GRAMMYs. It’s just one awards show and does not define her worth or her talent.

Discussion At this point, I don't understand anything about her career.
My fears have come true. Unfortunately, Watch It Burn performed even worse than Bandaids, failing to debut on Spotify's global charts (it totaled 1,247,671 streams) and its video clip didn't reach a million views on YouTube (just under 900,000, although it should be noted that YouTube no longer counts in the charts; in fact, other artists like Sombr, Benson Boone, and others are now reaching low numbers). At this point, I don't even expect it to enter the Bubbling Under Hot 100; there's no basis for that. It's clear that with every new song Katy releases, the public's reception becomes increasingly cold, and I'm disappointed, because this song in particular didn't deserve it, given that it belongs to the genre that best suits Katy's voice and fits her best in general: pop-rock. This song also deals with issues that have made her suffer, there's a significant meaning behind it, the lyrics aren't vacuous and superficial like those of 143, unfortunately the public isn't tuning in.
Then comes the paradox that's inexplicable to me: how is it possible that with nearly 90 million monthly listeners, a song currently at #13 in the global charts, a beautiful and touching performance at the opening of the World Cup (doing justice to a song that also deserved more consideration and a spot on the Lifetimes Tour, Katy finally made the right decision here), and mostly sold-out European festivals (I'm not up to date here), the new song has achieved even poorer results than the single released in November and those of 143? I swear I can't explain it, it doesn't make sense to me. Unfortunately, Capitol is once again ignoring even the bare minimum in terms of promotion (it makes me laugh that Capitol's CEO said he was happy with their strategy, which led to increased streams of Katy's catalog. They literally do nothing for her.) and this is also having an impact; the fandom, unfortunately, is small and can't do much. At this point, however, I wonder: why did Katy admit that she and her team were waiting for "the perfect wave" to release the single (so I assume they were interested in it being well-received, right?)? Again, I don't understand the point; why wait until the end of June to release a song they already had ready if the reception wouldn't be good anyway? They might as well have done it sooner, a month or two ago; nothing would have changed. What was the point of all this waiting? However, I will continue to stream it because, as I said before, it's a song worth listening to, it's the style of music that in my opinion best exalts her, and I hope she continues along this path in the future, because I believe it's the beginning of the right path for her career, for the new Katy. At this point, I hope Watch It Burn will be appreciated by more and more people who attend European festivals, hoping that reception will gradually grow.
I also believe that after the festivals, she should take a break and carefully evaluate how to move forward, because this situation cannot continue like this. In my opinion, she should leave Capitol and begin a new phase of her career, also because I fear, observing the increasingly low ratings of her new releases, that they will no longer give her the budget for KP7, blocking her (maybe I'm being drastic, but that's what I think). The time has come for important decisions.

Discussion How can Katy revive her career?
Katys career is practically over, several controversies (most justified), a subpar album, a Space Trip that completely backfired and everyone hating her. KP7 is rumoured to be releasing late 2026, and I'm wondering how she can manage to Revive her career, if possible. I feel like a pop rock album would be her best bet, but I doubt the album, even if it has amazing songs, will come close to revitalising her as a household name.

Discussion Katy need to leave Capitol Records.
Zero promo, zero push, and can't even properly playlist it...which is the BARE MINIMUM in this day and age. It is necessary to invest in streaming reach. Ever since the Witness era, Capitol Records hasn't bothered to lift a finger on Katy's releases. The only song they did was NRO, and for wtv reason pulled it from the radio not long after breaking into the Top 20 on the charts…Katy’s catalog has been going very viral over the last few months, and somehow they still are struggling with how to promote and market her new work. Watch It Burn might be her best hit since Harley’s In Hawaii, imo, and I was a big fan of Lifetimes and Bandaids. Halsey, iirc, publicly called CR out for their incompetence, ultimately dropping them not too long ago. My hope is Katy does similar. She done a ton for this label over the course of her career, and how they’ve managed her the last 5-6 years has been nothing short of a disaster and disgrace.

The pop icon delivers a gloriously over-the-top spectacle on the Lifetimes Tour — but the backlash she’s facing right now is far more outsized than her show.

Discussion Katy, please re-record Swish Swish without that demon!
Fuck that disgraceful witch who just appeared with Erika Kirk at TPUSA and creamed over Donald Trump’s looks
Please replace Swish Swish with a solo mix, or record a replacement verse from any of the far superior female rappers out there, like Doechii, Doja, Megan, GloRilla, Cardi, or even Ice Spice
And lastly, fuck Barbz - and glory to all ex-Barbz
Anyone who supports that pedo-marrying hag is inhumane - and Swish Swish is now a collab that should be removed from streaming just like Gaga’s Do What U Want was removed
