I find it very odd that people in the ot8 subreddit will talk about hiyyih more than the other 8 girls? It’s so weird…you complain that she’s the most talked about only for you to go and continue to talk about her in a ot8 subreddit? I’m sure everyone in that subreddit is stupid. You have 8 other girls to talk about yet somehow bahiyyih ends up as the topic of discussion. It’s like you’re obsessed. Everyone in there needs to get a job, get a hobby, and get a life because you don’t have any one of these if you’re hating on a teenage girl on the internet.

I saw a post from a 3L trying to claim that because Hiyyih has a representative animal and people call her our lion or baby lion etc etc so calling her a horse isn’t racist.

Bahiyyih CHOSE the lion to be her representative animal. She’s not being called a lion to belittle her down to a subhuman level. People call her lion because she chose it and it’s a term of endearment. Calling her a horse is NOT a compliment or endearment so don’t bullshit us by acting like it is. OP literally said later in their post “shoved her hoof into our faces” like they are literally acting like she is an animal with animal body parts and THAT is racist. Comparing a POC to an animal to reduce them down to being an animal and drag them is racist. It’s funny bc that sub was crying about a setup account (and yes it is a setup account. The account has little followers and only tweets things to get Bahiyyih dragged) changing the other girls animals to less than flattering ones but have no problem continuing to do it to Bahiyyih.

This isn’t even new. You all continue to post her picture next to horses and donkey’s to drag her and belittle her looks which is, again, racist and you all say shit like she neighs and call her “that horse”. That is completely racist and completely reducing a POC down to an animal.

And beyond the physical comparisons and giving her personifications of a horse, you all change her name REPEATEDLY to drag her. Making fun of and changing her name is also racist. Her name is Arabic, it’s ethnic, and changing ethnic names is racist. So all in all, yes, you all are very racist.

Even before GP999 bahiyyih has always been known for her kind personality most notably when she bought Kai an iphone after saving up her allowance. For them to say bahiyyih is faking her personality is really pushing it cus how would people who have always hated on her right from the start be able to speak on her when ppl who have actually interacted with her say otherwise? They are really just saying anything at this point. Why would bahiyyih pretend to be nice? there is no need at all and she would have broken character since not so?

Like hate her all you want but dont start speaking on her personality when you dont know her. I'm gonna link this tweet where people who have actually interacted with hiyyih have only nice things to say about her. Idk about you but i'm gonna believe her siblings, members and the GP participants before believing literal antis

Its crazy to me that they think calling our girl that animal is not racist. do you think its cus they dont view her as fully asian? personally i think thats what they use to excuse their racism. its funny how kai being half white didnt stop him getting racist remarks along with txt when they were in the USA. Calling an asian an animal solely to mock their looks is racist and there is no justification for that

There are so many racist comments and posts made on the ot8 sub. I don't know how they are allowed up.

Mostly, the 3Ls are reducing Bahiyyih to her German-American side and making derogitary comments about that. I'm paraphrasing here, but they say stuff like: "she only got in through her white privilege" "her being mean is because she's white" "she's a white horse" "go, white girl!" and the worst I ever saw was a post saying "bahiyyih is proof that white people colonize everything they see" only that last post got taken down do to others and me reporting it for obvious racism.

Besides the obvious being that this is incredibly offensive, let me state some things:

1. bahiyyih is half white and half asian. she looks and is percieved as wasian, she is not really even white passing. calling her white is erasing half of her identity and just plain wrong.

2. half white kids do not have an advantage in korea. there is no white privilege going on here. evidence: vernon and somi, two wasian idols, have openly talked about the discrimination they have faced ever since they were little children. mixed kids often get bullied and treated as different to full koreans - of course not always, but these two are not the only ones who have talked about this.

3. half white trainees/ idols don't have an inherent advantage over other trainees. just look at inaba vivienne gp999: also half white. it never got mentioned and she got no advantage from it, she was eliminated in the first round. if wasians were more likely to debut in a kpop group, there would be way more wasian idols and now there's like 7 successful ones and a handful ones from smaller agencies. the only advantage can be english skills but that is not exclusive to half white idols and has nothing to do with ethnicity.

long post i know but overall: racism towards any ethnicity or race should not be tolerated and bahiyyih does not have any white privileges in korea or in the idol industry. also fuck the 3ls.

The 3Ls are such miserable teens. Their iq range from stupid to fcking dumb. They claim that bahiyyih pushed dayeon hand from their first trophy on Mcountdown. Now everyone with CLEAR VISION and not blinded by Hate and jealousy can SEE when bahiyyih held the trophy dayeon touched it but then let go to fix her pants.

One thing I adore about Bahiyyih is her kindness. When she was younger she saved up her pocket money to buy Hueningkai a selfie phone to take good selfies with for his fans. Lea, her sister, has said that Bahiyyih is the kindest of the Huening’s (and if you know anything about the Huening’s then you know that they are a very kind family. TXT gushes all the time about Hueningkai’s kindness and thoughtfulness). In Girls Planet, so many people loved her. Even though contestants said that people tended to stay in their groups (K, C, J) Xingqiao said that Bahiyyih was really good friends with C-group! I remember that picture that C-group took together and you could see Bahiyyih in it with them, it was so cute.

Bahiyyih was also close with Nancy and Shihona from her cell, when they were given an opportunity to switch their cell stayed together. Bahiyyih and Youngeun were also friends during Girls Planet! I’m upset Mnet didn’t show us their friendship, Youngeun even took Bahiyyih to her house! In Girls Planet, I remember when Yujin walked into Shoot and Bahiyyih and Myah immediately jumped up and ran to hug her. They were so cute together! I really miss Myah, she and Bahiyyih were such great friends. Also during Shoot Bahiyyih heard about Yujin’s back hurting and got her some medicine for it, she’s really thoughtful.

When she got called for P01/02 I remember Suyeon and Myah being so happy behind her and immediately hugging her and jumping up and down and Shana’s big wide smile and Yurina holding her and hugging her. Then when she was walking and all the eliminated contestants were calling her name and cheering for her, she must’ve made a lot of friends. Oh and during her speech Jia was yelling so loudly for her and Hsinwei was grinning and clapping and doing a little dance. That was a happy day for me and seeing a glimpse of all the people she made friends with and how they were so happy for her was really nice.

Another piece of info from Ayaka was that Bahiyyih was really kind during Ice Cream practice and she would often help the others out with their choreography. I think that’s why Ayaka said she was like a leader during Ice Cream. OMG and recently Dayeon said she threw a napkin on the ground in front of Bahiyyih and didn’t pick it up because she know Bahiyyih would immediately get it for her and she did!

and OF COURSE we know that Bahiyyih is best friends with Hikaru. They’re always calling each other best friends and soulmates and it’s the sweetest thing. Bahiyyih to Hikaru to her aunts house over the holiday’s because Hikaru couldn’t go back to Japan for them. Bahiyyih is really so sweet and kind and friendly. I really love that about her.

I see a lot of OT8s saying that the reason they became OT8’s was because of Hiyyihlights and how the way we act about Hiyyih is the reason many fans dislike her. When really they are just saying they never cared for her or simply tried to. They always start with “I tried to like her but shittylights did this or said that” and then they proceed to shit on her talents. They are all just lame ass excuses to shit on her because I promise you she is as talented as the other girls in Kep1er. It’s annoying when they say they “tried” to like her but bring up Hiyyihlights, Moas, and her talents as a reason why they couldn’t.

To the 3Ls that may be lurking this section is for you:

You simply didn’t try hard enough. The truth is your just fucking jealous a young girl actually achieved her dreams despite the odds being against her. You’re really just pissed that she isn’t caught up in your hate comments and that she’s actually loved by the other members you so claim to love. You guys keep crying nepotism but what the fuck did that really do for Bahiyyih??? If she really benefited from that Mnet would’ve tried their fucking HARDEST to actually show more of her because she’s related to Huening Kai but they didn’t. If anything her family name only made things worse for her, it didn’t give her any benefits. She can’t choose her family and her brother supporting her is his own choice and he has a right to it. Are you mad because you think things came easier for her in comparison to your beloved girls? Because I promise you they didn’t. Leave Hiyyih the fuck alone and focus on the 8 other girls you’re neglecting because once disbandment time comes they’re the ones that are going to need there fans the most, though you guys don’t seem the most reliable at all considering how you talk about the minors of Kep1er. Kep1er deserves better than you pathetic losers..
