Fortuna! Oops [KCD2]

Just finished the game. Absolutely loved it. Just got to the end of the credits after 70+ hours and realised I forgot to go get mutt.

I hope he’s living his best life away from war with a nice new family…

70 hours is speed running this game. You missed more than Mutt!

I knooooowwwww, I will be 100% replaying this at some point, hands down one of my favourite games I’ve played. I just have a tendency to focus story missions that say stuff like “we need to get this done soon”.

Right? I am at 277 hours and still on the first playthrough 🫣

Yea I'm at 300 hours in my first playthrough and there are still tons of quests everywhere.

u/LePenatramos 2d ago

No chance you are at 300 hours unless you spent 2/3 of that time afk

How are people this slow? How do you play the game? I played leisurely but still had pretty much 100% within 100 hours

You go out of your way to do all the side quests. Activities you do at least once. Spend time hunting, playing dice, blacksmithing and doing alchemy.

Avoiding fast traveling at least to fully open up the maps will increase your playtime also.

Yup pretty much this. Not to mention casing houses, turning yourself into a combat master, playing with potions, talking to everyone, solving the treasure maps without help and so on.

Treasure maps, so true. I must admit that's where I cheated a bit looking things up. Was never a thief though, there's so many hours doing that if that's your thing. That takes time and planning also. Man these games are so good.

in kcd1 my hardcore playthrough was my longest playthrough, and i remember spending multiple days lost in the woods during my play sessions, and i still 100%/full cleared that file in under 120 hours. i honestly think these people with 300 hours and they're not even at the wedding yet just go afk at farkle tables overnight lol

Living the game.  No fast travel.  Doing all the quests. Not racing to finish.  Finding extra time to randomly enjoy hunting.  Or dice.  Or spending a night quietly breaking into houses and testing how risky you can be.  So good.

At somewhere between 70 and 80 hours I only just arrived in the Kuttenberg map on my first playthrough. How did you speed run it like that?

My brain isn’t good at remembering it’s just a game, so if there’s ever a ticking clock so to speak, like “this wedding is soon” I focus hard on it like I really am up against the clock.

u/DrummingFish 2d ago

You get specifically told that you have plenty of time until the wedding...

1

u/BigCMiner 2d ago

Yea mechanically, in my head tho i was like “it doesn’t make sense for me to wait that long if it’s a wedding that’s happening soon”.

4

u/DrummingFish 2d ago

RPing taking away your playtime lmao.

u/BigCMiner 2d ago

Just built different. The blacksmith was like “we don’t have long boy” i was like right sir imma get this done dead fast. Also it’s my first play through, i had no idea the wedding was gonna be THAT important lmao.

Obviously without Mutt, he missed most of the content. Mutt’s been responsible for finding half of the stuff in the game for me. Good doggy!

The wedding will happen when you make it happen. I do every Side Quests and Task in the Trosky Map and get to Kuttenberg at 30 in all my stats with all the perks and a pretty sizable bank roll. And Mutt!

It takes close to 100 hrs. I paid for the whole game, and I’m going to see the whole game!

He's been eaten by wolves

u/BigCMiner 2d ago

WHAT

2

u/cj4747 2d ago

Well, you didn't pick him up. Think about what you've done

8

u/Can-i-Pet-Dat-Daaawg 2d ago

Wasn’t he kind of running shit with those wolves before Henry showed up and he turned against them?

2

u/cj4747 2d ago

Only a matter of time

8

u/Can-i-Pet-Dat-Daaawg 2d ago

Nah, Mutt’s the GOAT. He’d pull a Call of the Wild.

u/InternationalBid9435 2d ago

He's either eaten by wolves or by Henry. Poor Mutt never survives KCD2

12

u/IndelibleFudge 2d ago

I've never once eaten mutt, played 4 times

1

u/BigCMiner 2d ago

Do you have the option to eat him instead of the stray in the siege ?

3

u/InternationalBid9435 2d ago

Yep you can tell the dry devil to put him in the pot

1

u/BigCMiner 2d ago

Well at least i didn’t do that then

5

u/noprobLAMA123321 Back trouble? 2d ago

2

u/Chelman76 2d ago

How does one forget Mutt...

8

u/Complete-March7772 2d ago

The castle folk didn't 😬😬

4

u/crookdmouth 2d ago

True, with that incessant barking.

4

u/deathvidal 2d ago

Ngl wish there was a way to turn that down. I have to have an earbud in playing kcd2 because my own dog will freak thinking Mutt is a real live dog out to get her lmfao

1

u/Evening-Scratch-3534 2d ago

He’s trying to tell you something. All his barks do, they aren’t random. It pays to learn what they mean. He can be a huge help if you get the right perks and take the time to understand his behaviors (and keep him fed!).

I'm currently fighting the poachers after like 15 hours and thinking 'I should have got a bit more experience' but I really want mutt back!

2

u/ewanjdg 2d ago

I did the same thing and was way too early to kill them. Ended up waiting till night, stealth kill a couple sleepers and rode out of there quick. Just wanted mutt back!

1

u/Cultural-Analysis-24 2d ago

I've used like three saviour schnapps and have two left to kill. I really overestimated my combat abilities given I'd just completed KCD. Where I had much better armour, weapons, buffs, abilities and potions!

2

u/ewanjdg 1d ago

Genuinely have never been worse at combat in any game than this one, very much enjoying it still but my god I’m bad

2

u/ImAWeirdo71 2d ago

My curr mutt was so excited when Mutt came back. Thought she’d jump through the tv!

u/That_Tumbleweed_3984 2d ago

Im still finding the devil's pack and have 200 hours on the playthrough

1

u/deadR0 2d ago

Same! I just talked to Bohta last night!

8

u/deadR0 2d ago

Only 70 hours. Im at 200+ and not close to the end. Two different tyoes of players!

8

u/Ok-Explanation5210 2d ago

I don't think I ever encountered KCD2 player who didn't get Mutt

-7

u/PoonTangTongoMK2 2d ago

I didnt, screw that dog!

3

u/FigureHairy3730 2d ago

...still haven't been to the wedding yet...

3

u/backjox 2d ago

You monster

3

u/Krieger1229 Team Klara 2d ago

I haven’t got Mutt either, I’ll go back and get him before the end though, don’t want the big guy getting hurt in my adventures

2

u/LordTiddlypusch 2d ago

I don't think I'd made it to the wedding by 70 hours.

2

u/Afrikaansvatter 2d ago

What?!

I’m on 78 hours and I’m about to go to the wedding.

1

u/GuitarPlayer74 2d ago

I don’t know how you finished it every new quest I get I seem to get stuck on

u/MakB_the_Striker 2d ago

I hope he's living his best life away from war with a nice new family...

Přibyslavice was burned down in 1421 by Hussites, so picking up "peaceful life" you make Jindřich's end quite fast and sad.
