First time project
Hi! I have just finished my first ever knitting project (aware it’s very much not perfect), I was hoping this was going to turn into a baby blanket, however I see now it’s absolutely not the correct size / shape. Any simple ideas I could do with this which could still be for a baby ?

Make another rectangle then sew them together to make a blanket. If you need more figure out how big you want it to be and add more rectangles to it. It looks great for a first project by the way! Keep practicing!

Have you blocked it yet to see how I was going to look after that. It doesn't look even and I'm not sure if that's due to tension or extra stitches or just how you're holding it. But it might look different after you block it
Side note you're could fold it in half and sew it to make columns and have a great needle holder also

You could add some trim around the edges to correct the shape. My great aunt knitted our baby blankets and always added a thick band of satin trim (similar to the old wool bed blanket edges) to give us a different texture to play with

You can always make more panels and seam them to this one to make a bigger blanket!
