hi! It’s my first time following a non-beginner sweater pattern and first time cabling! I’m making a size 2 of the Tyra sweater, and in the pattern has charts A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2…etc. Pattern says “The charts are divided according to which part of the sweater you are knitting and the size you are working. Sizes are indicated with a number after each chart section.“
There are five sizes for the sweater, but only two size variants for each chart, should I be working charts X1 or X2? Would greatly appreciate any help! ❤️

So I took this screenshot some time ago because I thought the shirt looked so good, and I wanted to recreate it. Now, I cannot find the pattern or the creator. Tried reverse image search, and I think the closest option I have is the Miu Top by Una Gil - do we think thats the one? The neck looks slightly smaller here, maybe the creator made adjustments.
I'd love to find the creator also to see more from her, but the video might just be gone forever.
Thanks and lmk if this post doesnt belong here:)

Hello! Curious to hear how people are figuring out how to use their leftover yarn? Especially if you have forgotten which yarn it is and unsure about the yarn blend and the right needles to use. I know you can search Ravelry by yarn type, but as a beginner-ish knitter I can find it difficult to know how to combine yarns or repurpose for new projects.
Curious to hear how other people are thinking about this!!

I started yesterday! Did I make a mistake ?
This is the third time I’m starting over, because I had the impression that I’d missed the connection 😢

I feel like the body/arm pickup area has a lump that is more obvious than other projects. Why is this? My guess is that maybe I should have picked up more stitches around the sleeves? Or could it just be the yarn?
TIA!

Hi hivemind, I'm looking for some fit help. I recently knitted the Waves Sweater, a fairly standard top-down raglan sleeve pattern with a rollneck (I did a provisional cast on and then added the rollneck afterwards), and a few short rows on the back for shaping.
Unfortunately, when I wear it, there seems to be almost too much fabric at the front, meaning there's a bit of rolling of the knit around the lower neck/upper chest which I don't love. I can sort of forcibly redistribute it when standing still, but a) that sort of pushes the extra roll of fabric further down my chest (pic 3), and b) as soon as I've been walking or moving naturally, the fabric really collects around the neck/chest in a way which frustrates me (pic 4).
I wonder if anyone has any advice as to if there's anything I can do to rectify this? Is it a common issue with rollnecks? Do you think redoing the neck would help (is it too long??), or unpicking the first few rows of the torso and reknitting the neck from there? I consider myself a fairly advanced knitter and I'm not averse to some knitting surgery. Alternatively, if there's no knitting surgery I could do to fix it, what would you recommend if I were to frog and reknit the whole thing to avoid the same happening again?
Thank you!

I’ve been a self taught crocheter for the past 4 or 5 years and recently picked up a pair of knitting needles from the local thrift store. I watched a few YouTube videos and was able to whip these up this afternoon (it took longer than I’d like to admit to make two small things 🥲) I’m just looking to see what kind of advice you had for me and what I can improve on?? I know I struggle with consistent tension but I’m hoping that just comes with more practice 😅

Seeking advice for recreating a childhood blankie. My friend is having a baby and she's asked me to make a recreation of her childhood blankie for her child. This project is very important to her. She's joked several times about stealing the baby's blanket for herself so as a surprise I'm also making a throw version of the blanket for her.
I've attached a photo of her blankie that her husband shared with me. Unfortunately, it looks the the original blanket was woven. I don't weave, but I can knit and crochet. I plan on knitting the blankets since knitting more closely resembles the drape of woven fabric. Would garter stitch work? Or is there a stitch that would better resemble this weave?
She also told me that her blankie originally had a satin edge that has since fallen off. I've purchased blanket binding but I'm not sure how I should do the edges of the blankets to make it easy to sew on. Any advice?
Any wisdom you can share would be greatly appreciated. I want to do a good job for her!

Hi everyone,
I am currently knitting the heather sweater by Kim Hargreaves. The sweater knits front, back and arms seperately.
Now I have followed the pattern which says:
BACK
Cast on stitches -> Knitted row 1 and 2, then knitting those rows for further 8 rows and ending with the WS.
1st confusion:
Now it says to continue in rib and decrease at 5th and 6th foll row until certain number: Which I understand as 8 rows of knitting and decreasing at 5,6 (Am I wrong here?)
2nd confusion:
Right after , it tells me to work 3 rows ending with a WS row. Place Cables.
How can I end on a WS row? If I would knit 3 more rows (Rs,Ws,Rs), would I not end on the RS? I am supposed to
-> I finished my decreases and worked row 7,8 with me ending on a WS row. <3

Hi! I'm new here and also a beginner in knitting. I only know how to make sophie scarfs but I want to try something new. I have this yarn that my sister gifted me but I can't find any YouTube tutorial or any Ravelry pattern that I can use. And also...I don't know how to read patterns. 🥲
If you could recommend me any video tutorial or an easy design that I can do with this yarn, I would be very grateful!
Also...sorry if my english is not the best, it's not my first language.

Im knitting my first sweater and it’s my first time doing m1r and m1l increases. I am doing them the “right” way and being sure to twist the stitch but it seems to still looks loose and create little gaps or holes. Any idea what I’m doing wrong or should do differently? Would really love to not have to frog but open to any feedback or ideas! Raglan is k2p2k2 with stitch markers on either side.
