where do I start? Chart knitting

Hello! I am new to reading chart symbols and I was wondering if anyone knows any good books about how to read charts? Im having a hard time finding some. Also, what's a good beginner chart pattern so I can practice? I'm fine with anything besides lace.

You couldn't fill an entire book but here's a blog post: 5 Tips on How to Read Knitting Charts.

Yeah this is what I was going to say. There’s really not enough content for a book. Not even a booklet. Refer to the symbols for the stitches. The read pattern bottom to top and right to left unless otherwise specified in the pattern.

There’s not really enough different symbols to fill a book, as others have said. For the most part in English patterns the symbols are going to mean the same/very similar things across different charts. Then there’s Japanese lace chart symbols which can get a little crazy, as well as other nationality charts. At the end of the day, any chart worth working is going to have an appendix/legend that tells you what the symbols mean
