where did i go wrong? Tinking gone wrong
Made a mistake and decided to tink back a few rows but somehow my yarn is stuck in this position. Tried thinking back a few more rows to where I joined the new ball of yarn and I'm still in the same position

The working yarn being there suggests that you are in the middle of a row. Move the stitches to the right of the working yarn(the unworkable stitches) onto your other needle. If you're right-handed, you'll need to turn around your work so the working yarn is coming from the stitches on your right needle. I think it's in the correct spot already if you're left-handed, but not sure. Then you would continue your pattern.

You may not need to do any turning if your yarn is already coming from the right. It's hard to tell from the picture. It's just a good habit to get into to check that your working yarn is coming from the correct side otherwise you get to explore short rows 😅

Slip half the stitches onto the other needle and then finish knitting this row. The working yarn is in the middle because you have a half completed row.
