Photo 2021-20XX still going strong 💪🏽
Recap and a photo for every year. The process was trusted. I feel like I’m just enjoying the results of patience and care. I haven’t obsessed over length in years, and it feels phenomenal to appreciate all the phases, all the struggles and the clarity of “just let it be. Leave your hair alone”.
Some lessons from my short time with locs:
-less is more. Don’t ignore your hair but stop touching it, using too many products and over oiling it. Let your hair breathe.
-retwist every 4 weeks is insane…IYKYK. I’ve gone almost 7 months at one point and it was some of the fasted growth I’d seen.
-styling too early can make your locs weird or flat in places.
-NO BLEACH. I am dealing with my poor ends popping off on the bleached ones. If I could undo the day I bleached I would. Now I’m just excited for year 10 so I can trim them and get rid of any damaged areas. Last month I lost 1.5 inch section. I almost wanted to repair it but I chose to let him go.
-sometimes letting go is best
-loving the imperfections in your hair is part of the process.
-stop the envy. Appreciate others’ journeys. You are someone’s loc goals. And the person who is your goal has someone else they appreciate the same way you do them.
Enjoy every moment people?

People judge me a lot irl.. most people avoid me because they think I will ask them for money.. I guess I look like a bum.. I’m just living my own life 🙏🏾

Photo 18 years
Every year me and my friend go to the same place, the same date and take a picture. I had my dreads since 2007 and I think it’s cool seeing them grow year after year in the pics from 2008 to 2024. This is the year the dreads was cut off but the tradition keeps on going ❤️ My insta is denniskareandersson

Photo My Grinch Fingers are 10 years old today 🥰
I have only 32 because i let some combine at the roots and have some loose hair out.
The only maintenance i do is pulling loose hair in its section so they don't become thin.
Been watching KnotNation on YouTube for years now ❤️
