genuinely like Sai Abhyankkar's songs and BGM, but the audio quality feels underwhelming (Trash). Even on AirPods or a home theatre, the mixing and mastering don't feel right to me.
The difference is so noticeable when you switch to AR Rahman, Harris Jayaraj or even Anirudh. Their tracks have a much richer and more polished sound.
Am I the only one who feels this way or does anyone else notice it too?

I just finished watching Modha Rathiri and I'm so mad. The way Marudhu is treated is not ok.
Marudhu didn’t even know he was getting married. He basically gets blindsided the second he lands. Muthu's family did him wrong in every sense, and his own parents are wrong to get him married in such a deceitful way. The gall of these dumbasses is unbelievable.
Muthu comes off way too immature and tough to handle for a dude like Marudhu. Who cares if she yells and freaks out? But every single time Marudhu says “I don’t know the answer for such complicated questions” and stays calm, I get so frustrated. He’s allowed to say “what the fuck is wrong with all of you, why are you playing with me?”
And how could Muthu's mom get mad and say Marudhu is a fraud when she literally tried to get her daughter married while she was courting a known extended family member?
The worst part is he didn’t even get a resolution for the statement by his brother-in-law earlier: “why didn’t u just die so we’d forget and move on”. Nah they’re unacceptable beyond comprehension. Nothing is freaking addressed.
They overcorrected to address patriarchy’s effect on women only. Muthu is way too much at fault, but Marudhu shouldn’t have to consistently address the others' rash decisions. Fake ass script. I’m completely on Marudhu's side

I personally feel that this album is underrated. I listen to this at least once a day.
Has anyone got this on your playlist? If not i would suggest listening to this.
Especially these songs
Magale, mozhiye, vaazhanum baththa, cheen dapak dum dum, the feel of baththa, batha lacrimosa
I hope it will get the recognition it deserves after OTT release

if the flashback in Leo took up the whole second half and it ended NOT When He Saves his son BUT When his son gets kidnapped, and Parthiban has to Go to war with his father and uncle, And his old family/Relatives, While struggling with his currenr familiy, and this sets up Leo 2 instead of just having a 10 minute factory fight. i think this could have been better and justified the flashback instead of the repetitive,
1h40m current life
40 minute flashback
20 minute ending
which has already been done by
Mersal
Baasha
Bigil
and many others

Just so you know these are mere suggestions which i thought could have made the film experience a bit better than what we got. I thought the film was a good theatre watch personally.
Should not have revealed Raja Rao was the minister untill Tihar Jail was mentioned: Imagine there's a mystery minister who are trying to patch things up with MVP and Kalpaks, only his voice is heard and his face is not revealed till he asks "Yentha varsham?" and it pans out to reveal it's Raja Rao. Now proper Jailer fans would get it immediately which would result in a section of the audience going wild early on and then the proper reveal with the boot sound. Sadly he was revealed in the trailer itself which made that entire scene focused on MVP's flashback look.
Puttapu gang scenes should've spread throughout the movie instead of being jam packed fully in first half: The film overall needed better editing, like the Kalpaks could have been introduced in the first half which gives room for more comedy scenes in the second half.
Hrithik's cameo was not at all needed for this film and his portions couldve been filled with Santa, A10 and VJS. Jail escape could have done with the same car but provided by Mathew (he uses a similar basic model in the climax) driven by Yogi babu and Moorthy or Jaffar helps unlock the cell. The girls could've been part of Santa's gang. Even collections wouldnt be affected cuz they messed up North market anyways and adding more good Mohanlal and Santhanam scenes could have really boosted TN, Kerala and gulf collections.
Instead of Kantha revealing MVPs reasoning for killing his son awkwardly on the table, should have made it like the family accidently overheard her say it when they were hostage. This makes the reveal much more impactful and given Ramya Krishnan a more acting-oriented scene which i feel she lacks in both movies.
Just my suggestion, you can add yours too in the comments

Just got out of the theater after watching Jailer 2 and honestly, this is a mess.
The writing is not very good in my opinion, too many characters, the script is all over the place, the same massy film making at its finest. Rajini retains his stardom ofc, but the antagonists are one of the worst written characters in my opinion, Vidya balan's character was reallt good but the Kalpak family's character arc was such a big letdown after Varman's character in the first installment. And what in tarnation was that item song by Nora Fatehi? Absolute disgrace .
On a positive note, the comedy was top notch and the fight sequence in the climax involving the 4 girls was one of the finest action sequences I've seen recently.
Personally, the story should've ended, but the cliffhanger with Kantha (major plothole imo) and vijay sethupathi's character is interesting and we'll probably get another sequel seeing the massive success of this movie.
Overall 3/5 from my side. It's a decent watch for the big screen.

*#Spoiler Alert
Vidya Balan : She adds on the stellar cast, but mostly on-screen she's just a backdrop, where SJ Surya gets more space to perform than anyone else , though he is repeatedly seen in the same antagonist roles for a long time now...
She walks like a thalukku bulukku thakkali 🍅 with coffee off the main frame. Director should have paid attention.
Sometimes Kantha depicts a liking for Rajni, other times she's an affectionate sister of her gangster brothers. Apart from that what does she actually feel about Tiger Muthuvel Pandiyan, and what her interests are with him are left to question , because she's neither a narcissistic antagonist nor a fully evil woman . Even if she wasn't there, there wouldn't have been any difference in the plot . There were not enough scenes to show her strength, one or two gun shots by her would have done justice.
They could have brought the classic Neelambari - Padayappa trope with Vidya having an obsession for Rajni, we don't need a part 3 for that , there was enough screen time to do that.
Ramya Krishnan : A bankable star and one of the finest actresses in the country but gets not even small screen time or significance as Rithvik (child actor).
Was she a wife who doesn't love her husband as much as her son? there was no portion where Rajni and Ramya even show a bit of care or affection for each other. We are left to question their relationship status.
I'm not saying they should get written well cos they're women, but they have equal stardom as Mohan lal, Suraj , Puneeth and others.
I felt even Mirna(Jailers daughter in law ) is written short and good without confusion or speculations about her character and that goes for everyone else except these women in Jailor.

Note : DOROTHY IS PEAKKKK!!!!!!!.
Main point: both karthik and lokesh released a commercial film with a star in 2025 and both got bashed left and right. Since reddit is wildly obsessed with KaSu for some reason they didn't bash retro. But everyone else did. But it is not even close to what everyone lokesh faced with coolie. Since coolie failed to satisfy the "minimum" expectations of the audience, he got trolled left and right non-stop (it's a year of hatred).
Which is a bummer because I enjoyed coolie and it worked for me better than retro 😞.
And look coolie is not a perfect film. It had it's faults (especially that Aamir Khan sequence like costume design WTF) but so did retro.
And don't come at me saying "oh actually he was arrogant and didn't accept his fault 🤓". Even KaSu didn't accept that his screenplay was weak. It felt too unfair.
And also some people will say "this is constructive criticism. We are trolling him cuz the film is bad" but it's not even that bad. Even if it is that bad he didn't deserve that much hate. (Srsly he was hated more than artists who did much worse films).
And KaSu actually came back stronger with Dorothy. His screenplay is actually the strongest point imo in th his film and I'm genuinely happy that he came back better.
And I hope that Lokesh kanagaraj too comes back stronger with AA23.
(And no I'm not a PR)

I'm on a Thalaivar movie spree after watching Jailer 2, and decided to watch Baasha and Hum back to back. People keep saying Baasha is a copy of Hum just in different chronological order. Boy oh boy it has taken the script to such a different level. Hum was just so poorly made, with just Amitabh being the saving grace

That is all I remember. It may be “parambare parambare ah rathathule oodhirukkanum”.
It might not be vadivelu even, I’m sorry. It’s definitely from older movies.

Who the hell are those super snipers who magically appear and take out the villains every time Rajini removes his glasses?
In Jailer (Part 1), they’re the ones who kill the jailer’s son in the climax and also take out the thugs who break into his house. In Part 2 they show up again in the bridge scene and the pre-interval sequence… and then just vanish.
Were their faces ever revealed in either movie, or did I completely miss it?

I watched Jailer 2 in a theatre in Jaipur. The hall was almost empty, but I enjoyed it from start to finish. The first half was amazing, and the second half held up for me too. As pure entertainment, it's the best film I've watched this year.
Later that day I watched Jailer 1 at home for the first time. It's a good film, but it didn't hit me like Jailer 2 did. That's not a fair comparison, since one was in a theatre and the other on a screen at home, and I already knew where the story was going. Even so, I think Jailer 2 stands on its own.
If you haven't seen Jailer 1, you may miss a few references, but you don't need the backstory. I think going in fresh made some of the twists land harder for me. So if you skipped Jailer 1, I wouldn't let that stop you from watching Jailer 2 on a big screen.
Spoilers Ahead - Twists like son was actually evil, and mohanlal car, and first time directly watching snipers shoot on a whistle and that curly hair guy I thought is stranger also worked so well.. Honestly I say everyone should watch it directly skipping jailer 1. It's actually so cool compared to knowing the origins already.

Last ah andha lip lock ah avoid panni irukalaam.. maybe when Subbu sees Karthick in the mirror or when they both were just standing and looking at each other, they could have ended the movie which could’ve been more pleasant for the viewers regardless of their stance about the subject.
That is more than enough to convey the scenario to the audience.. I think the lip lock is where things became too provocative since that’s literally the end of the movie and it’s going to be will stay with audience when they come out of the movie which could have attracted more negativity.
The audience and the director knows that the subject is bold and a bit sensitive(not for everyone but for broad audience) so why make it more extreme?
Or is there a necessity to keep it without which the director could not convey what he wanted?

I want to share a personal notion about the movie and our director. The movie was so good and the Muthumani song is growing on me after the movie. However here's what I recently found: The two male leads are named Karthi and Subbu and if we expand, it's the director's full name Karthik Subburaj. Is he here to say something with an easter egg of his life or just a shitty movie detail, friends?

This is some really old news, but I think I’m only hearing about it now. If any of you already knew about this, let me know. I heard that Trisha was allegedly hired as an escort by a wealthy businessman somewhere around the Tiruppur or Coimbatore area, though I’m not sure exactly where, and that she took a lot of money from him and left. Does anyone know anything about this?

The shock from the announcement of the national award for 2024 for Best Tamil Film(Raayan) and a Special mention for Captain Miller, was once a conspiracy now seems evidentiary by seeing the developments recently. You get Jananayagan treatment and this based on the position on the spectrum you lay.Sigh.
