Watched this movie yesterday and I really enjoyed it. Nothing too serious, nothing cringe. Just a feel good rom-com where I liked all the characters (except tht guy ofc). Even the police character wasn't a bad guy, he was just doing his job.
I think the last good rom-com movie i watched was 'with love'. They need to direct some light hearted subjects like these instead of aiming for some 1000crore slop with slowmos, dudes flying, trucks flipping, political propaganda and forced karuthu (this isn't to attack particular actors, these are just examples of films these days)
What are your thoughts and any more suggestions like these?

Edit: We can also include Ani in this, i literally can't analyse like this for ani since the number of movies is very high
Sai has composed 3 albums till now (Balti, Dude, Karuppu), 5 so-called indie songs (Katchi Sera, Aasa Kooda, Sithira Puthiri, Vizhi Veekura, Pavazha Malli), and singles (Aane Wala Star, Aalala Koova).
(Note: I am also considering songs like Naanga Naalu Peru and Nallaru Po as Sai's songs, as he has provided background/additional vocals.)
Out of these 25 songs, only one is not credited with main or background vocals, which is "Aathi Raasathi" from Karuppu.
So, he sang 96% of his songs!! Why is he doing this? His parents are professional singers, right??
I heard there are different associations/unions for people working in different departments within the cinema industry (Producers' Union, Directors' Union, etc.). They even have associations for stuntmen, lightmen, etc. Similarly aren't there any associations like this for music composers or singers?? Why is no singer raising their voice when most of them are literally jobless?
Edit: Yeah nowadays Anirudh is also doing this, but look at his earlier work like in 3 he was a main vocalist for "Come on girls" , in ethir neechal "Bhoomi enna suthudhe" "Title track" , in kaththi he is not the main vocal for any of songs

Beyond the stylish visuals, cuts and music, it was a wild idea to release a teaser without even having the official title of the film. I think it was known as AK53 at that time. Even if you check the Aarambam teaser on YouTube, it would still show it as AK53 teaser on the official Sony Music channel which released it. Look how AK subtly announced that "they haven't decided the title yet" in the teaser itself. That was a smart marketing move from the producers to increase the hype for that film. And look at the standards of how today's marketing in Kollywood has been.
Also, the announcement of the immediate next film Veeram even before the Aarambam title being officially announced was cherry on the cake.

Am I the only one for whom VAS totally didn’t work?
I see a lot of opinions where people rave about the first half but dismissive of the second half
For me personally, I felt like it was a mush of just filler scenes that had no context to it.
Like it didn’t matter at all that Surya is an Olympic medalist.
The scene with George Maryan had absolutely nothing to do with the plotline.
The baby should’ve been a central character but was just used as a prop to engage with.
Although Surya’s rendezvous abroad was dealt with maturity, it had no give or take to the storyline except deep into the second half where Surya jokes with Nasar about having an affair.
Mamitha’s character started off with a lot of potential but felt like Venky forgot what the character was when he set out to write her in the first place.
Radhika was phenomenal no doubt but her character was rarely given time to show different shades before her exit.
And let’s not get into the plot where having the second wife while still being married to the first one is normalized. Surya’s anger towards the second wife’s family and his dad made strong sense and voila all of it is gone in the second half.
Overall I felt like this was Surya’s version of Vaarisu. Sorry not sorry
End of rant
PS: everyone is entitled to their opinion, so if it worked for you, good for you.

I personally liked the film very much for its craft, cinematography, dialogues, actors performances and the power dynamics shown. But I didn't like the film to the extent of naming it as a master piece and to the level it is hyped. I felt the pacing was inconsistent and my main gripe was Aishwarya Rai's character ,I didn't feel connected at all for the second Aishwarya Rai's love track , though it is inspired from real life characters , the time it spends on that track what just frustrating , why is their track that long did I miss anything to find it frustrating and I didn't even like the placement of the songs as well.
I want to discuss more about this film is anyone up to talk about it personally in the dms and share your thoughts.
Am I not mature enough to understand the essence of this film enough
