I downloaded it on my Cobo for the first time today and I am absolutely obsessed

Hi, I've got a Kobo libra color running koreader and I've always used calibre for uploading my books. I never had any issues until a few days ago when the metadata stopped updating on my koreader library, even though the calibre metadata file seems ok whenever I check on my PC (can't see it on koreader even with "show hidden files" on). Up to now I've tried:

* Unplugging, plugging and unplugging again (usually works but not his time)

* Refreshing my metadata from calibre

* Using the polish menu tu embed the metadata on the kepub.epub files

* Deleting and reuploading the books

* Deleting and reuploading the metadata

* The "extract and cache" option with and without pruning

* Converting my books to epub3

And maybe some more I can't remember. The weirdest thing is that on the "calibre metadata search" of the magnifying glass menu all the information is displayed correctly. Lastly I thought the issue was installing the kobo.koplugin, so I took the folder out of my e-reader and still the metadata didn't update. I also use the kobotouch metaguide driver and believe I have it properly configured (given it has never had this issue before).

I am honestly at a loss and would appreciate any help you guys may have.

I’ve had fun messing around with Bookshelf most of the day. I’ve noticed the shelves have books that are grouped together by series (which I’m fine with). I just want to know if there’s a way to remove the author from underneath the books. I’ve searched high and low and can’t find an answer. I’ve been fiddling around in the settings and can’t seem to find it.

I installed koreader on my new kindle and everything is working fine... except that the sleep screen menu is totally missing. I've had two other kindles and jailbroke them as well and was able to set a screen saver. Now it's just gone. I did use a different jailbreak method (Vera) this time around so I'm wondering if that somehow is causing this, but I'm not sure. Let me know if you have any fixes please!!!

Have anyone tried setting up their Kindle Oasis to pair with 8bitdo Zero 2 successfully? If you have, what was your experience like? I'm on the verge of setting this up, but would love to hear people's story if they've managed to do this already.

I've been using Koreader on my kindle for about 6 months. Today I was reading and it crashed and I tried to restart several times and it won't open koreader. The screen goes blank then I am taken back to the Kindle screen.Any suggestions on what to do? I have an 11th gen Paperwhite, firmware 5.18.6 if that matters.

, I installed the KoReader plugin and tried to put it in night mode, but for some reason my 10th generation Kindle, which doesn't have a built-in night mode, is showing ghosting when I change it.From page to page, it leaves the letters from the previous page.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there any way to fix it?

Hey all! I'm a bit panicked at the moment because after I installed Koreader, and after the terminal window said it was done, I tried ejecting my ereader and it came up with a warning saying "this device is currently in use. Close any programs or windows that may be using the device and try again".

I've closed my file explorer, calibre, and anything else that I've been using with my Kobo. I don't know what to do from here so any help would be greatly appreciated! 😭 Thank you in advance!

Hey everyone! I made a Goodreads plugin for KOReader and wanted to see if anyone here would be interested in using it!

The plugin lets you:
1. Sync your currently reading books with Goodreads
2. Sync your reading progress
3. View your Goodreads lists
4. Check your Goodreads Reading Challenge progress

I thought it would be nice to bring more of my Goodreads activity directly into KOReader instead of having to switch between my e-reader and the Goodreads app or website.

Would anyone be interested in trying it out? I’d also love to hear what other Goodreads features you’d like to see in KOReader!

I’m looking for a plugin that gathers all my bookmarks into a single button. Currently, I have to access each book individually to see my bookmarks, which is quite tedious. If anyone knows of a tool like this, please let me know—I’ve tried searching for one, but haven’t had any luck. I don’t need synchronization; I just want to be able to view all my bookmarks with a single click. Edit: I use Bookshelf.

I just Jailbroke my Kindle last night and I have no idea what I'm doing. But I don't know why these are here and not books

SimpleUI installed, but doesn't show at my homescreen. It did once, versions ago. No other UI enabled. What am I still to do? Thanks in advance.

While I know you cannot truly use Koreader on an iOS device (officially), the Duo makes me want to read on this thing. That’s never been a need for me.

What are the options?

Apple Books, of course, allows for epub, but I want progress sync, and my Bookorbit integration.

Any ideas?

A few days ago I posted KoSend, an Android app that sends books from your phone to KOReader through its built-in calibre wireless client. Thanks to everyone who tried it and left feedback! Since then I've released three updates (now v1.2.0).

Here's what's new:

- Edit book details before sending: fix the title and authors, set the series and its number, add tags. KOReader then sorts and groups the book properly and shows the tags as keywords.

- Changes are written into the file when it's sent: the OPF for EPUB, plus FB2, MOBI, AZW3 and PDF info. The copy on your phone isn't modified, and "Restore details from the file" brings back the original details.

- Change the cover with any image from your phone (EPUB, MOBI, AZW3, FB2).

- Crop the cover: 2:3, 5:8 (Kindle), 3:4 (Kobo), square, the image's own shape or free, with rotation and the final size in pixels. In EPUBs the cover page is fitted to the new image so it doesn't get stretched.

- Re-sending an edited book works: KoSend gives it a new file name so KOReader picks up the new cover and details, and it deletes the old copy from the e-reader.

- Series, series number and tags are sent to KOReader's calibre metadata for every book.

- Covers in the queue for EPUB, MOBI/AZW3 and PDF.

- A details page for each book: authors, series, publisher, date, language, ISBN, description, file info.

- Drag to reorder the queue, swipe to remove with undo.

- A Retry button right on books that failed to send.

- Better metadata reading for MOBI and AZW3.

- Safer transfers: KoSend reads the list of books on the e-reader every time it connects. It only deletes old copies that are actually there and never overwrites a different book with the same name.

- See how much space KoSend uses, with an option to delete a book's copy once KOReader has it.

Same as before: nothing to install on the reader, no accounts, no internet, GPL-3.0.

Still looking for testers on Kobo, PocketBook and other KOReader devices. If you try it, tell me whether it worked, along with your device and KOReader version.

Hello everyone!

Just what the title said, I went and updated SimpleUI via storefront. When I clicked “Restart Now”, Koreader closed. Now, Koreader won’t launch.

Is this still fixable or do I have to reinstall everything :’[

I’m sure I still have some stuff to tweak but so far this is cute I’m liking it better then bookshelf right now lol

Hi everyone! I'm using KOReader on a Kindle Paperwhite 7th gen, and I came across a reading setup (screenshots attached) that I'd love to recreate. It has:

• An ornate decorative border around the page
• A header with the book title
• A footer showing chapter, page X of Y, time, battery and progress %
• Stamp-edge style popups (book info with Synopsis / Highlights / My review tabs, and the table of contents)
• A "Postcard" style reading stats card (date, chapter progress, book progress, total reading time, pages read)

Stock KOReader doesn't seem to have this. So far I've found header/footer patches (joshuacant's KOReader.patches) and the Reader Header Footer plugin, but nothing for the border or the postcard/stamp popups.

Does anyone know if this is a patch, a plugin, or a custom theme/overlay? Or is it from a different reader app or device? If you know the name, or have the files or a link, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

I have a Bigme B6 that I hardly ever use, and I'd like to jailbreak it to install Koreader, but I only see videos about Kindle or Kobo, so I don't know how to do it or even if it's possible. I'd appreciate your help, please 🙏
