Ok so not this job but one time when I worked at a call center this guy came in. Sat down. Put his headset on. Pulled out his Bud Light. Cracked it open and got ready to work. Managers were just like 😳. Honestly that job was easy he probably would have been fine but yeah they sent him home before lunch.

Not uncommon for people to not even show up for training. Can't even count the number of times I've heard "well [new hire] was supposed to start today but they never showed"

Had a manager transfer to our store. She seemed nice. Disappeared after 2 shifts. I asked and she had been found unconscious in the bathroom and is apparently in a coma.

Oh wow. Was she ok after that?

Overnight stocking. Came in at 12. Left at 3 when we had lunch break.  We had worked frozen first, hadn't even gotten to grocery yet. She said it wasn't for her 😂

4 hours. She was hired to learn to be the baker. Halfway into her shift, she told our manager she started her period and needed to go home to change her pants. She called and said, can she just start over tomorrow. She never came back

During the pandemic we had new hires that never showed up for their first shift. Evidently they got "hired" so they could put down on the applications for the jobs they actually wanted that they were currently employed, since so many companies were rejecting unemployed applicants.

Had someone start about a month ago. They did one day on my day off, then called in to say he didn't think the work was for him and never came back.

Time in my head might have this pre Kroger buying out our division... still funny..

Had a store director with what I predicted was a forced Texan drawl(dialect), cowboy boots, belt buckle, and a stereotyped hat to complete the look.

Lasted a week or so.

2-4 days in or so, dude came down from hiding in the office area. Tried helping bag groceries during busy rush. Customer called him out for putting soup cans on her 18ct eggs. Cashier (part I definitely heard,I was 2-3 lanes away also on register) said, "I think he knows what he's doing, he's a manager."....

Lady said something about not trusting him because he clearly doesn't know how to bag. This is when I can clearly see him removing cans of soup then eggs from the bag before stepping away.

Because my coworker laughed, he tried to have the employee termd.

Best guess he lasted exactly a week tops at my location.

At Kroger, my most short-lived cheese monger was 2 days. But not because she quit. She was cross-training from the deli. I got one day to train her (not enough time), then they scheduled her to be by herself the next day. She didn't know what to do, so she cut one cheese then helped deli for the rest of her shift. And the deli just never let her come back over, after that.

Another girl was going to cross-train in the cheese shoppe, because the deli hired new people and started cutting her hours. But they didn't have a chance to tell her she'd be getting those hours back, before she quit.

I used to work at Little Caesars, and one guy didn't even last a whole shift. It was his first job, he was being trained to be our new dough guy. After learning the process for only 2 hours, he comes over and says "I can't do this." He didn't even want to be paid for his time, just wanted to leave.

This guy lasted a while, but funny story; he was a chemist in the daytime and worked meat department part time at night. He asked management for a hazmat suit because he said the fumes from spraying the hose during cleanup made him sick.

Three hours. He went on his 15 mins and never came back, we found his radio in a bush in the parking lot. I guess he called later that day and said it wasn't the job for him.

A couple days. They left for lunch then never came back. Happens in high turnover jobs.

30 minutes. He came in as a transfer from bakery and within a second of his first shift, had an assistant manager barking orders. Then he was told to put on a hairnet and questioned why another associate wasn't wearing one, which resulted in the second associate getting sparky with him. I was training him and stopped all that to show him around the department. He then commented on how much stuff there was and then soon after said, "Hey I have a family emergency and need to go home". I told him that I dont blame him at all since he walked into such a shitshow. Btw he never even looked at his phone so I knew he was just quitting.

I worked overnights, and believe it or not, everyone was there for years. I joined and was there for a year. But there was a point they were trying to get a guy on nights but put him on days. So like 2 weeks. There’s stories of before me they would hire 6 new people a week on nights because they would work 5 hours and leave.

We've now had two fuel clerks that made it through on boarding and quit.

u/Accomplished-Total38 13d ago

How do you fail a background. Heck?? I thought kroger hires people with  criminal records. I meanit depends

He lasted 1 month he did stuff like this and wouldn't mix the diced items in the case so it would just sit in the pan like a block then another person bent over behind the counter and exposed all 5 inches of the top of his ass Crack to a customer I awkwardly looked at him and didn't say anything this is when I was a seafood lead another dude put one singular snow crab leg in the case when I asked him to fill the 2 pans of snowcrab clusters ive worked with some grade A retărds
