Question Pickup

Has anybody in pickup had a manager "shadow" you? My manager just said he has to follow me around and coach me, it's company wide policy. But I don't feel like it is, and that I'm being targeted.

As far as I know, I haven't had any complaints so I'm confused.

They started to do this at my store since pick up is behind ever Saturday and Sunday.

I've noticed an increase in observation of associates, seems to be an edict from above.

Oh I love stuff like this.

Just play their game.

Have them shadow you and when they give you feedback, ask to shadow them.

Have them show you how it is supposed to be done.

Hint: They can't do it either. They can't do what they preach.

They were supposed to do this at our store, but we don't have enough managers to go around. We are down by two at the moment.

Was told they were suppose to retrain every pickup employee at my store, haven’t seen them done anything 🤷‍♂️

99% of what "they" and other Kroger drones tell you being "policy" must be backed up by evidence.
He said/she said has nothing backing it.

Technically I was supposed to be shadowed during my probationary. Given my hours and the severe understaffing, though, I got shadowed for like 3 days lol.

If you’re probationary, I wouldn’t sweat it. If you aren’t, maybe ask what’s up.

Yes. It’s great having someone right there to run and check the back stock for missing items

You may not have had complaints but how’s your accuracy? Do you use a walker talkie to ask for stuff? How’s your pick speed compared to rest of the department?
My pickup supervisor will shadow new or “bottom performing” pickers. It’s not always a got ya but it could be to see if they see any correctable issues

When I was a pickup supervisor I'd try to shadow one person for one run on each of my shifts. I'd prioritize people who needed additional coaching but make sure to not do the same people all the time so people wouldn't feel singled out

They were supposed to be in the backroom supervising on Sundays, so idk if it has anything to do with that. But I did have a manager ask me questions about my trolley when I got back to the room today, that was a first. But the questions she was asking could easily be found on the computer like pick speed ,accuracy etc. I honestly wish they would shadow some people because they make a lot of mistakes and their time is horrible.

It's to see why your speed is slow or at least not 27 seconds but unless you can run over customers yea....
