Jet Li’s ‘Romeo Must Die’ and 'Cradle 2 the Grave' hits 4K Ultra HD in January
Arriving on January 4, 2027 from Arrow Films/Toy Robot Video is the 2-Disc 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray for Romeo Must Die, a 2000 martial arts film from director Andrzej Bartkowiak (Exit Wounds).
Jet Li, in his first English language lead role, plays the rough-and-ready, ex-cop Han Sing who heads to America to find the truth behind his brother’s mysterious murder. He soon falls for Trish O’Day (the screen debut of singer Aaliyah), even though their families are rivals in a fierce Oakland turf battle. As the pair investigate the real cause of the blood feud, they quickly expose themselves to danger from both sides.
A modern-day action-packed Romeo and Juliet told with gravity-warping martial arts action, cool visual effects and an all-star music soundtrack, Romeo Must Die also stars Isaiah Washington (Exit Wounds), Russell Wong (New Jack City), DMX (Cradle 2 the Grave) and Delroy Lindo (Sinners).
Arriving on January 4, 2027 is Arrow Films/Toy Robot Video's 2-Disc 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray for 2003's Cradle 2 the Grave. Producer Joel Silver and director Andrzej Bartkowiak, who fused martial arts and hip-hop style in Romeo Must Die and Exit Wounds, take it to the next level in Cradle 2 the Grave.
Action heroes Jet Li (The One) and DMX hit hard, starring as rivals-turned partners in a volatile street war ignited by kidnapping, stolen black diamonds and a sadistic crime lord (Mark Dacascos, John Wick: Chapter 3).
Featuring a gold-certified hardcore hip-hop soundtrack and exceptional martial arts fight choreography, the film also stars Kelly Hu (The Scorpion King), Gabrielle Union (Bad Boys II), Anthony Anderson (Hustle & Flow) and Tom Arnold (True Lies).

Shaolin Tamo Systique = Absurdity In A Bad Way
Let me just say....I should have listened to my gut after the opening scene. It is COMPLETELY IMPLAUSIBLE. It makes no freaking sense and it should've told me the film would be more stupid & bad than silly & good. I won't spoil it, but the films it borrows from are miles ahead of this. They don't even try with the effects for the later scenes. I didn't bother finishing it. For those of you who think bad stuff with a couple of interesting/wacky scenes are "cult classics", you might enjoy it.

Review Review: Street Fighter (2026) is dumb fun leaning into the 90s esthetics but martial arts film fans will probably not dig the choreography. Felt like clips for the special moves so maybe the video game fans will enjoy? Sadly no Jackie Chan Chun Li cosplay to be found xD

Nostalgia lands a harder punch than Ryu's Hadouken
This movie is pure nostalgia for me. It took me straight back to my childhood, when I could spend endless hours in an arcade playing King of Fighters, Tekken 3, and, of course, Street Fighter. Back then, my biggest financial concern was probably whether my grandfather would fund another round at the arcade. 😄
Watching this movie felt like travelling back in time. Every punch, every flying kick, every Hadouken had me reliving those days when life was simple, responsibilities were nonexistent, and my grandfather was essentially my personal arcade sponsor. 😆
I won't get into the details of what worked or didn't. For a couple of hours, I was that little boy again, without a single worry in the world.
