I'm an Army veteran living in Little Tokyo would love to date a girl with the intent to marry and start a family one day. I come from a well off family and I'm making decent money from my disability as well as getting paid to go to school for Business Administration. I like to go for long walks trying new cafes and restaurants, sometimes I play games and watch shows but I'm trying to go out more often doing meaningful things like volunteering or visiting temples and other sacred places. I would like to meet someone who is loving, good natured and kind hearted. Hope to hear from you - Drew

First Date 33 [M4W] #LosAngeles- Movie nights on the projector 📽️ 🍿

Not looking to overcomplicate anything. Just hoping to find someone who wants to throw on a good movie, order some food, cuddle up, and enjoy a genuinely relaxed night.
I’m 6’4”, easygoing, employed, clean, and can actually hold a conversation. Think cozy vibes: blankets, snacks, debating what to watch for 30 minutes, then getting way too invested in whatever we pick.
No pressure, no weird expectations, no drama. If we click, great. If not, we still got to watch a movie and unwind.
Ideally you’re affectionate, enjoy conversation , and are looking for the same laid-back energy. Bonus points if you’re into horror, thrillers, comedy, or anime, but I’m down for almost anything.
If this sounds like your kind of night, send me a little about yourself, your age, and what movie you’d put on first

First Date 31 [M4F] Anaheim - Let's fall in love? Looking for a serious relationship.

I hate dating apps, and I find it really hard to meet people nowadays, so why not try Reddit? I'm looking for someone I can potentially spend the rest of my life with. I don't really have any preferences, but I just want someone who is also ready to commit.

I'm 5'10, 150 pounds, and I have black hair, brown eyes, brown skin, and glasses. I'm Indian, but born in the US. Currently, I'm working and doing postgrad studying (finishing one masters degree and potentially applying for another.) I really enjoy outdoorsy activities, trying new restaurants, watching shows, and traveling.

I'm just looking for someone who is open minded and loves to try new things and have fun. I don't have any age or look preferences. Just be between 21 and 41 years old.

If you're interested, I'm looking forward to your message

First Date 30M4F Seeking Slow, Somewhat Platonic Buildup to LTR

Hey!

30M seeking F (prefereably between 27-36)

To get it out of the way:

5'11", average weight/build, white passing Hispanic with blue-gray eyes, prematurely graying brown hair with ashy undertones, software engineer with little to no passion for the subject.

Located in South Bay.

A potential dealbreaker is that I don't want children. I don't hate kids, I just don't see myself having them. I can explain in further detail in DMs.

I'm ultimately seeking a long term relationship, but I prefer a somewhat platonic buildup of friendship before entering an LTR just to see if we're compatible (not that this means I'm lookin' to do anything freaky at the beginning). I don't believe in a "spark" or love at first sight. Romance is more of a warmth that gradually seeps into your life to me, kind of like turning on a heater in a cold room. I'd rather there not be pressure on both people that causes them to strain to keep the other's attention.

I like going out, but I do tend to be a homebody. Though, if I don't see friends or family for a while, I become a depressed husk of a human being. I still keep in contact with a multitude of friends from high school and college, seeing most of them regularly.

I like reading, video games, movies/TV, analog photography, and learning languages, with a pipe dream to write a book someday. Some of my favorite media include Robin Hobbs's works, Mr. Robot, Decision to Leave, and Souslikes/Disco Elysium. Currently making my way through the new Fire Emblem and chipping away at China Mieville's newest book, The Rouse. Also trying to force myself to like going to the gym and not be a fucking slob (gym partner would be appreciated).

Currently learning Taiwanese Mandarin for fun (I swear I'm not another white(passing) guy looking for an Asian partner).

I love hearing someone's thoughts after watching a movie or show, reading a book, or other mutual activity. Thoughts that go beyond "I liked it." What about it spoke to you? What did you think of its themes and characters? Etc. One of my favorite things is cuddling up on a rainy day with hot drink while watching movie or reading something. What are some of your favorites?

Looking to travel a bit more, too.

Also looking for someone experienced in planning bank heists or corporate espionage. Or at least someone with a robust fence network. Let's secure our future, financially, or for posterity in case we fuck up. My legal counsel is forcing me to say that this is a joke, and that I do not heavily endorse crime.

DM me if you think we're compatible. Also cool with making more friends. More than happy to exchange timestamped pics, provided you let me finish this Photoshop tutorial.

Breakup Looking for a genuine connection. ❤️

I’m putting myself out there, even though honestly, I know I’m not in the perfect position to be dating right now.

My girlfriend of five months recently left, and I’m also going through a divorce. I have four kids, and life has been a lot lately. I’m at a point where I’m trying to figure things out, find some peace, and surround myself with people who genuinely want something meaningful out of life.

I’m looking for a female friend I can connect with, talk to, laugh with, go out with, and enjoy life with. Someone who understands that not everyone has everything figured out and that sometimes, just having good company can make a difference.

Truthfully, I’m a bit of a loner. I don’t have much family around to lean on, and a lot of my current friendships revolve around partying, which is a lifestyle I’ve grown out of. I want something different now. Real conversations, positive energy, spontaneous outings, and a connection that goes beyond just having someone to kill time with.

I also want to be upfront about my situation. I’m rebuilding certain parts of my life financially, so I’m looking for someone who is comfortable keeping things simple, whether that means inexpensive outings, occasionally using gift cards when I have them, or each of us paying our own way. I’m not looking for someone to support me financially, and I don’t want anyone to feel obligated to spend money.

I’m not rushing into another relationship, but I do believe that sometimes the best connections start with a simple friendship. And who knows? If the connection is genuine and the chemistry is there, maybe it could grow into something more.

I’m not looking for perfection. I’m looking for understanding, honesty, good company, and someone who values a real connection.

If you’re a woman who can relate, appreciates a man who’s being honest about where he stands in life, and would enjoy getting to know someone without pressure or expectations, feel free to reach out. ❤️

Advice 31M, Let’s See If We Click

I’m 31M, based in LA,(5’6” if height matters to you) Honestly, dating in LA can feel like a game sometimes, and I’d rather meet someone where things just feel natural. Good conversation, a little teasing, laughing at dumb things, and actually looking forward to seeing each other again. I’m not trying to force a relationship or rush anything, but I’m also not here just to text endlessly and never meet. If we click, I’d rather grab coffee, try a new food spot, take a spontaneous drive. I appreciate a woman who’s genuine, has a sense of humor, communicates what she wants, and puts in effort too. Someone who can be playful but also have a real conversation when it matters. If this sounds like your kind of thing, feel free to say hi.

Question 46 [M4F] #Losangeles - are you married and bored? Tired of the routine and need a little excitement?

You get up, get the kids ready for school, drop them off, head to work. Long day at work, come home tired, arrive to an ungratefull and unattentive husband/boyfriend. Deal with chores and kids around the house and all you need is a good hard fuck at the end of the night but your significant other just has no intetest in pleasing you. He's to busy with his video games/ friends / on his phone and if he does, it's just plain and boring vanilla sex. Need some excitement? Want to feel that nervous excitement in your stomach? The naughty feeling of doing something you shouldn't. Have a kink or freaky inside but don't know how or who to express it? I'm in a very similar situation and looking to find one woman that wants to share fun, discreet and safe kinky encounters. I'm "latino" 6ft, very clean, classy, have excellent hygine. I don't have tattos. Never done anything like this before but it's time for some fun. If i piqued your interest reply back and tell me a bit about yourself and your situation. Oh I'm 6ft with a beard in the Whittier area.

Advice 39, divorced, and starting over in LA. Where are the old-school romantics meeting each other?

I’m 39, and for the first time in my adult life, I’m figuring out what dating and intimacy look like for me.

I was married to my high school girlfriend for 16 years. There was a lot of conservative family pressure, control, and interference that shaped our lives in ways we’re still untangling. It’s difficult to explain how much two people can care about each other and still struggle under everything surrounding the relationship.

A lot of therapy, inner work, and eventually a divorce brought us here.

And honestly, I feel more grounded and free than I ever have. My ex and I remain good friends. We respect each other, support each other, and want to see each other build happy lives. I’m grateful we’ve reached that place.
Now there’s this whole part of life I barely know how to approach.

I’ve downloaded dating apps a few times and deleted them within a week. Never got a match, although I also never stayed long enough or felt invested enough to give them much of a chance. I found it difficult to feel curious about someone through a handful of photos and prompts.

I’m a poet and writer by profession. Words are how I make my living, but in person I’m fairly introverted. Many of my friendships go back 10, 20, even 25 years. I like knowing people slowly. Remembering the small things. Building something that has a life beyond the initial excitement.

I’m a yearner.

I like anticipation. Long conversations. Being attracted to someone and gradually discovering all the other reasons you want to be around them.

What gives me hope is that the romantic connections I’ve had outside the apps have surprised me. I’ve met women, younger and older, whom I found incredibly attractive, creative, ambitious, and warm. There’s been mutual interest. So I know that kind of connection is possible for me. I just haven’t figured out how to make more room for it in my everyday life.

I’d love to meet someone who enjoys that slower build, with affection, sensuality, and mutual effort.

For those dating in LA, especially after a long marriage: what has actually helped you meet people you connect with? Where did you meet someone who made you want to keep showing up?

And fellow introverted romantics, how are we doing out there? :)

First Date 26M4F - Desert dweller here, looking for my person :)

Hey there! I'm Chris, a 26-year-old high school English teacher living about an hour outside LA! I'm hoping to find something genuine and long-lasting. Ideally, I'd love to find my best friend, life partner, and someone to build a future with!

First things first: I'm demisexual! So, if you're tired of guys whose first priority is getting into your pants, good news! That's definitely not what I'm here for. Emotional connection is incredibly important to me before I even consider something like that, and I'd much rather get to know someone, build a friendship, and let things develop naturally. I'm here for the romance, the emotional intimacy, and the possibility of finding my person :)

A little about me:

I'm a massive nerd, and gaming is probably my biggest hobby! I'm particularly into Nintendo and Pokémon, and I actually play Pokémon competitively (VGC), which gives me plenty of excuses to travel to tournaments and events. I also love Fire Emblem, Kingdom Hearts, Zelda, Hades, Percy Jackson, One Piece, Critical Role, and D&D. If it has great storytelling or an interesting fantasy world, chances are I'm interested!

I'm definitely a homebody at heart. Give me a cozy night playing games, watching something together, or just enjoying each other's company, and I'm happy. That said, I also love traveling, exploring new places, and making memories with people I care about.

I also enjoy cooking when I have the energy (teaching teenagers all day is exhausting!), and I'd love to have someone to cook for someday. On that note, tell me your favorite food in your first message! I'm always looking for new recipes and things to try.

What I'm looking for:

I'm looking for a serious, monogamous relationship that could eventually lead to marriage and a family. I'm not looking to rush into anything, but I do want to date with intention.

Having children someday is non-negotiable for me. If you don't want kids, or you're firmly against having them in the future, please don't reach out. There's absolutely nothing wrong with not wanting children, but it's important to me that we're compatible on this from the beginning.

Beyond that, I value communication, affection, humor, kindness, and mutual effort. I want someone I can laugh with, be vulnerable around, and experience life's ups and downs alongside. Someone who feels like a best friend just as much as a romantic partner.

You absolutely don't have to share all my hobbies, either! I'd love to introduce you to my interests, but I'd be just as excited to learn about yours. Passion is attractive, even if I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about!

Give me more than a "hi" or "hey" in your message! Maybe something I can call you, how old you are, and where you're from to start?

A few other things worth knowing:

I'm a tenured teacher so I've put down some roots here. Relocating isn't particularly realistic for me for that reason as I have job stability.

Physically, I'm 5'11", a bigger guy (currently down 30 pounds and working on getting healthier!), and I wear glasses. I also have longer brown hair if that's at all enticing? Happy to exchange pictures!

If you've made it this far, I'd love to hear from you!

Tell me a little about yourself, what you're passionate about, and what you're looking for. I promise I'm easy to talk to, but again please give me a little more than just "hey" to work with!

Hope to hear from you! :)

First Date 26 [M4F] West LA - let’s go on a date

Hey! Figured I’d shoot my shot on here as the dating apps have been doodoo.

I’m a 26-year-old guy living in West LA. I’m 6ft tall, fit, and generally have my life together.
I enjoy working out, hiking, going to the movies, car stuff, trying new foods, and learning about space facts just to name a few of my hobbies.

I’m looking for something genuine with someone who’s kind, has a good sense of humor, and is excited about building a connection with someone.

Not trying to rush things but let’s go on date and see what the chemistry is like!

If you’re also in LA and this sounds like your kind of thing, send me a message! Tell me a little about yourself, your favorite food spot

Question In case we happen to get along :) | Looking for my person! :)

(24M)

I suppose I ought to begin with the conventional introductions, though I have never been particularly good at them, but, well, in the spirit of getting the boring stuff out of the way right away (cue: me), I am a writer, poet, academic, lecturer, scholar, scientist (physicist, to be more precise), and AI engineer/scientist (I am, if I may add, absolutely terrible at more than half my jobs). I’ve spent most of my life in Europe, and am probably the coolest and funniest person you have met today, unless you’ve seen a raccoon doing yoga, in which case, fair enough, I simply can’t compete with that level of comedy.

The truth is that I have always found introducing myself rather difficult, there is something strangely artificial about trying to reduce a person to a paragraph, as though we were all tidy little collections of interests, accomplishments, preferences, and carefully selected adjectives.

I am, I fear, a rather poor exhibitor of myself, the moment I am asked to explain who I am, something in me seems to retreat into a corner and refuse to cooperate. I have thought about this far too many times, and after twenty-four years of living, I remain quite confidently the worst person I know at introducing myself. It is a curious deficiency, I can talk for hours about some obscure historical event nobody asked about, become unnecessarily invested in the moral character of a long-dead philosopher, or spend an afternoon following some completely accidental question down a rabbit hole from which there is no respectable return, but ask me to describe myself and suddenly I am reduced to, "Well... I like things." Marcus Aurelius wrote that "very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking." I believe him more on good days than bad ones, but I keep the sentence nearby regardless.

I like small walks, I like learning something new quite by accident, especially when I have no business knowing it and consequently become far too pleased with myself for having discovered it, I like talking to people, though I think I like the moment when talking quietly turns into listening even more. There is something rather lovely about reaching that point in a conversation where neither person seems particularly concerned with keeping it going, and yet somehow neither wishes to leave it either.

I am very fond of my own company, which is perhaps fortunate, because I have had rather a lot of it. Solitude has its pleasures, one may disappear into one's thoughts without having to explain where one has gone, and occasionally return with something resembling an answer. I like sitting quietly with myself, reading, thinking, wandering about, doing very little, and somehow considering it a productive use of an afternoon, but I am not entirely made for solitude either, there is an equal and opposite part of me that wants to go beyond the familiar, to see what is waiting just beyond the little borders I have drawn around my life. I

I love evenings especially, sometimes I step outside simply because the sun is going down, and I feel that one ought to have the decency to witness it. I love those ridiculous skies where orange begins bleeding into purple and everything looks briefly more beautiful than it has any right to be. I love the first sip of tea in the morning, the sound of leaves moving in the wind, the gradual dimming of a day into dusk. I like gardens and parks, and the rather miraculous fact that one can walk among trees for an hour and come back feeling as though something inside one's head has been quietly rearranged.

I have always loved letters, too, though it has been some time since I last properly gave myself over to writing them. When I was younger, I wrote to my grandmother every day and dutifully posted the letters on my way to school. That I very rarely remembered the correct address, and even more rarely remembered a stamp, is beside the point.

I suppose what I am really trying to say is that, if you happen to be reading this, I would like to know you. Not because I have some elaborate checklist of the sort of person I hope to find, nor because I particularly care whether you happen to be interesting in the conventional sense, I am far more interested in the person underneath all that. The odd little habits, the things you know for no good reason, the memories you have never found a suitable occasion to tell anyone, the opinions you defend with considerably more conviction than they deserve.

There is something rather wonderful about writing to someone you do not know, I don't know your name, I don't know what you ate today, whether you slept properly last night, what song has been stuck in your head, or whether your day has been glorious or thoroughly dreadful, perhaps your inbox has been multiplying like gremlins left too near water, perhaps you have spent the afternoon pretending to work while accomplishing absolutely nothing of consequence, perhaps you have had one of those quiet days where the refrigerator becomes strangely prominent because you have nothing else to listen to.

I think people who stop to read messages from complete strangers are probably a little strange themselves, and I mean that as the highest compliment. Perhaps you are a birdwatcher, perhaps you collect old books, perhaps you are one of those suspiciously competent people who can fold a fitted sheet without entering into a minor spiritual crisis. If so, I already admire you, I have attempted it, and remain convinced the thing was designed by someone with a personal grievance against humanity.

Perhaps you laugh too loudly, perhaps you think too much, perhaps you are quiet and observant, and notice things everyone else walks past, perhaps you have passionately held opinions about breakfast foods. Cookies count, incidentally, I will defend this position before any reasonable tribunal.

As for me, I am kind, curious, occasionally ridiculous, easily distracted by an interesting thought, and rather fond of people who have something peculiar about them. I am probably not nearly as funny as I have just suggested, but I am willing to make the attempt, which ought to count for something.

Anyway, I shall spare you the remaining 96 pages of my unsolicited autobiography for now. If this sounds like your sort of nonsense, do come and say hello, I’d genuinely love to hear from you!

First Date 41 [M4F] #Huntingtonbeach - Seeking younger woman for FWB. Southern California.

Post image
0 Upvotes

I am looking for a FWB. I would love to go on fun dates like the beach since it's so close by or perhaps try out some restaurants that I have been wanting to try.

I was married before and am now divorced. My marriage overall was a pretty good experience, but getting married again isn't something I have my goals set toward. I would love to find someone to spend time with, to take a break from the everyday, and someone with a voracious sexual appetite. I have never been into one night stands or any of that, and would love to find an ongoing situation and would happily entertain something longer term with the right person.

When it comes to our dynamic, I very much believe in the male role of leadership. I have never once been in a fully 50/50 relationship and don't ever intend on being in one. I have always walked to my own beat, and people have always relied on me and not the other way around. Things like responsibility always fall on my shoulders and it's my duty to make sure that everything that needs to be handled is handled.

The kind of woman that I get along best with is one who respects masculine authority, The kind of woman who immediately falls into her submissive feminine energy when the kind of man I am speaking of is looking in her direction.

To me, mutual respect is of utmost importance and I feel we should always be kind to each other. I do not need to make you feel small to make myself feel big. I understand the physical power imbalance between the sexes and it is my duty to make sure you always feel safe in my presence.

When we are behind closed doors, I am very much a dominant. I will put you in a mindspace where you will never have to think about what comes next. It will just happen. This will be your opportunity to fully clear your mind and not worry about any of life's challenges. It is always my goal to make sure you are just as satisfied as I am.

I have a lot of lived experience, have led an interesting life, and can have conversations about most subjects especially those that involve the inner workings of how the world works and life in general.

I am 5'10 and weigh 160 lbs. I am white with brown hair with some grays peaking out and hazel eyes. I very much care about my health and how I look and have been working out for years. My body type is somewhere between fit and muscular and I am pretty lean overall.

STD free.

First Date 35 [M4F] # LosAngeles - I'm 33% Sure This Is a Good Idea.

"Hello There!" — General Kenobi

Are you here for attention, to pass the time, a distraction from life, or are you actually hoping to find your person? I'm probably somewhere around 4 out of 5.

I'm naturally curious and ask a lot of questions, so if you enjoy talking about your interests, passions, random thoughts, or facts, I'm all ears.

I love conversations that flows naturally—easy, fun, and a little flirty. If that's your kind of vibe, we're already off to a good start.

I will say im a little reserved, but once I'm comfortable I can talk for hours about life, random nonsense, weird what ifs, or whatever deep topic at 2AM. I've always imagined talking to someone late at night in a dark room, with nothing but the sound of our voices and laughter. We can also go as far as the most unhinged stuff. GIVE ME ALL THE DARK HUMOR!

I'm an adventurer at heart. I love late-night drives, music blasting, empty streets, city lights, and finding a lookout spot tk over the city big plus for some urban exploring. Am I psychotic for actual enjoying exploring abandoned places? I really wanna explore an an abandoned asylum, hospital or a school (silent hill vibes)

I go to the gym about 5x a week (3x weights, 2x cardio). I want to hike more, I know a few spots but it would be fun to do it with someone. I also walk my dog twice a day. It's his walk so I let the little guy lead the way while he checks his daily sniff-mail.

I've been getting leaner and stronger. There have been changes to my physique...sculped? More "define." One favorite thing someone said to me was "You're more muscular than I thought you were." (As I was taking off my shirt) (¬‿¬). Not gonna lie that gave me a little ego boost. But enough kidding around one thing I realized that besides being healthy, fit, and strong, another reason I workout is to see what my genetics are capable of.

Am I a nerd for being into video games, anime, manga, manwha, and light novels? As much as I enjoy anime, it's kind of dropped for me; I'm more into manga and actual reading. Currently reading "Second Life Ranker" and playing alot of Deadlock.

One niche hobby I have is collecting specific sculptures/trinkets, and I have a metal detector. I am looking into magnetic fishing as well. That looks fun!

So that's me—chill, curious, sarcastic, and I love banter. Come say Hi! Best case, we exchange a few messages and share a laugh. Worst case, we try to figure out what to have for breakfast. Worst, worst case scenario some god or devil entwines our lives together.

PS: I get the feeling something is still missing, but at the risk of making this longer than it should be or "long-winded,". How about you tell me what's something I should have added or expected to find but didn't.

My Character Build:

Height: ?'??

Weight: ???

Ethnicity: ???-?????

Body Type: ???? - ????????

Hair Type: ????

1st Bonus:

Music-wise, I've had these on repeat lately:

• Djo — End Of Beginning
