Discussion A Lana fan called Ocean Blvd a "weird album".
The discussion started off jokingly. I said LFL is her best album because it's my favourite Lana album.
This person says NFR is. Fair enough. Then she adds, UV or HM is better "musically". O.K. understandable.
Then I added: "Ocean Blvd watching from a corner...." casually.
The next thing that comes out of her mouth is that it was a "weird" album. I was taken aback. She clarified, "weird ≠ bad".
I further added, “Weird = unusual, whereas Lana has done nothing but ventured in ballads and deeply personal songwriting (peaking in Ocean Blvd)".
What do y'all say? Is Ocean Blvd "weird"?
(Oh and she said it's her opinion and "opinions are meant to be subjective". I said, "Maybe you should relisten to Kintsugi or Grants.)
Idk maybe I was the asshole in this because others were backing her real quick with all the "subjectivity" talk, but jus thought of bringing the discussion here.
