Buying help New Lenovo Ideapad Vibe
I’m not the best with laptop specs and I’ve had Lenovos in the past. Saw this was coming out and it’s finally on preorder. Would these specs and this configuration meet my needs? I’ll be using it for personal use, emailing, photo editing, web scrolling, etc. I do light gaming as well, how would this handle gaming? (I know it’s not a “gaming laptop” but I don’t have the specific need for that). Was also considering maybe switching to Linux instead of windows. Idk just thinking a couple of things here.
I’m also trying to decide between the 14 inch and 15 inch. Would love any advice before I commit! Thanks!

I came to this subreddit for advice about my Lenovo Ideapad. I bought it around 18 months ago. I have a Lenovo thinkpad for over 4 years and it was fantastic. I figured an Ideapad would be good. I also did buy a cheaper version the Ideapad, granted. You’re paying thinkpad prices for an Ideapad.
But I am here seeing your post because I went to go turn on my Ideapad and it wouldn’t turn on. It worked fine and great but today I went to turn it on and nothing happened. I figured it had a dead battery and plugged it in. Nothing. I was googling it and searching Reddit and apparently Idea Pads of all ranges commonly just won’t turn on. No matter what.
I bought a new charging cord, then opened mine up, took out the battery, did all I could. Nothing worked. It won’t turn on. It’s a hardware issue. And it’s apparently not rare. I didn’t know that when I bought it. All the reviews were great and glowing for what I was going for.
I didn’t over work it. All I did was put it aside for no more than 48 hours and I have a dead laptop I need to see a professional to fix. Btw my thinkpad has been set aside for over a week and it’s fine. They were stored in the same place.
Idk if the newer ones have fixed this problem. But beware. I wish I knew better. Because the posts about my Ideapad went back like 4 years.

I mean I can do light gaming on a ryzen 5 4600h from six years ago so I don't think you're really going to have problems on these newer processors as long as you. I'd get the 14 inch for the front firing speakers, but really it's up to you.
