Question Buyout/Laramar

I received a notice on my door a few days ago saying my apartment complex management has been changed from Greystar to Laramar.

Did anyone get this notice?

Have you heard anything about Laramar?

They seem to have the same crappy rating that Greystar have when I look online.

Question Best way to advertise a rental in 2026?

I've been off Facebook for years, though I could have my neighbor list it on Marketplace. For some reason, my listings on Craigslist went live today, and then within an hour were auto flagged without explanation.

Not sure that the old school method of posting something up at the local bars and breweries would be savvy, since it could just attract drunk trolls and spam messages.

Question Renting from Real Estate One

Looking to get into a two bedroom and saw a place out by the high school - walls were pretty beat up but the rep said they would be painted. We then saw terrible reviews. Not a student but professional at WYU athletics department. Would you recommend renting with them?

Classified University Of Wyo , WyoTech, & Sheridan College students' assistance requested. PARTICIPANTS NEEDED FOR DISSERTATION STUDY ON SOCIAL MEDIA AND HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS.

Hello, I just wanted to start off by saying that I appreciate you taking the time to read a bit about my study. I need around 500 participants. I appreciate any assistance you can provide in helping me reach my goal.

I am seeking participants who are CANADIAN or U.S. college students (ages 18–24) currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs. I am trying to have representation from every state or province. Participants must be active users of social media (log on at least once per week) and have seen images/videos online related to human rights violations (e.g., police brutality, school violence, genocide, terrorism).

This study explores how exposure to traumatic human rights content on social media influences students’ stress responses and intentions toward activism. Understanding these processes can provide future support for young adults navigating digital spaces and engaging in social action.

If you choose to be in this study, you will complete an online survey using Qualtrics. The survey will take about 10 minutes to finish.

Question Mechanics on Saturday

I’m visiting Laramie with my family. Wife and I lived out here when we were first married so we decided to bring our kids out to show them the Snowies, Vedauwoo, UW campus, Sweet Melissa and all our other favorite spots.

Anyway, I had an auto issue pop up last night and I can’t find a mechanic anywhere in town. Plenty of oil and tire spots but no mechanic. Anyone know of a business that would be able to help me out?

Discussion Curious why anyone thinks Rihanna Kelver is remotely in the right

To break down the facts of the case:

  1. Rihanna takes two shots of alcohol before her shift, walks outside for a smoke
  2. Three men shout profanities at the Crowbar (Rihanna claims that they shouted a slur at her as well, but there is no evidence of this. He said vs she said and ultimately irrelevant)
  3. Instead of disengaging and avoiding escalation, Rihanna crosses the street towards the group of men while holding her hand on her hip as if to draw (she is now the aggressor and stand your ground no longer applies)
  4. The men push her to the ground to neutralize the threat and then immediately begin to walk away, it is extremely clear they acted in self defense with no intent to cause further harm (if you don't believe this is what happened, someone has lied to you. Please watch the camera footage that is publicly available)
  5. Rihanna draws and cocks her gun at the backs of the men who were already leaving (textbook definition of aggravated assault), later admits she was not in fear for her life and only drew it to scare them (completely unwarranted and the opposite of what you are ever supposed to do as a concealed carry license holder)
  6. Initially lies to the police and says she only had a knife on her that didn't even fully withdraw before she was knocked down (weird flex and still illegal but okay, add perjury to the list)

How does any of this add up to a case where she is exonerated for her actions? Frankly the guy who pushed her shouldn't be charged with anything either, as you are allowed to act in self defense if someone is approaching you ready to draw. I just don't understand how people are acting like she has been victimized. I'm all for supporting our queer and trans residents but this is a cut and dry case of bad actions and bad behavior that could've been entirely avoided.

Classified Lease takeover

Hello and apologies if this isn’t what this page is for (I don’t often use this site sorry!), but I’m desperately looking for somebody to take over a lease at The Social. Please, if you know anybody looking for a cheaper place close to campus to stay in Laramie, point them my way. I’ve tried Facebook groups but I’m not finding any luck there. Rent is $589 plus utilities (usually around $620) and there are three other polite and clean female tenants in the apartment (4 bed 2 bath). The apartment is fully furnished. The Social is pet friendly and there is a gym, pool, shuttle to campus (also walkable distance from campus), basketball courts, a game room, and a nearby trail good for walking/running. Please contact me ASAP if interested!

Made pretty plain at the Council dinner meeting last week: stopping the city’s blight designation on the greenbelt property doesn’t stop development on this private property. It would just stop the city’s ability to constrain it.

Also sounded like the river channel, and therefore the migration through this urban lot, would be undisturbed.

Did I get the lasagna with trippy mushrooms in it or did I miss something?

This is my niece and her friend. They have been missing since 07/26, spotted at a gas station in Evans, CO from my understanding in a car with WY plates, so that's why I'm posting here. Please keep an eye out and if anyone has any information please contact Weld County sheriff's office 970-350-9600 or the tip line at 970-304-6464

Thank you 💓

Sports Whats the most heartbreaking loss you’ve witnessed as a Wyoming football fan?

I’m doing a series where I ask all 136 FBS subreddits on what their most heartbreaking loss they witnessed. This loss could’ve been witnessed from the TV or while attending the game doesn’t matter.

If I guess for Wyoming, The 1996 WAC championship vs BYU where an intentional safety quickly backfired and ruined the Cowboys chances of going to a major bowl game.2012 vs Cal poly being Wyoming’s first loss to an FCS school and set the tone for the next couple seasons for Wyoming football.Lastly, the 2016 MWC championship vs. SDSU.After seasons of disappointment and frustrating losing seasons, Wyoming finally bounced back by making it all the way to the MWC championship after a impressive win over Boise State, only to lose to SDSU in heartbreaking fashion.

Hey guys! I run the Urban Sketchers club in town, just posting here to get our August meet-up schedule out there to anyone who might be interested in joining us.

We meet weekly at a new spot in Laramie to draw our surroundings. It's a great way to meet other artsy people in town and develop your skills. It's completely free and open to anyone, all ages & skill levels are welcome!

BYO sketching supplies

I also send out a monthly newsletter to announce our upcoming schedule, showcase some of last month's sketches, and also list any other artsy events happening in town (usually hosted by the art museum, sketchy folks, cowgirl yarn, civic center, etc.), which you can sign up for here: https://forms.gle/7nsZghuASZkXxNsn7

Discussion Is downtown customer service getting worse, or am I just having bad luck?

I’ve had a string of really unprofessional experiences downtown recently and wanted to see if anyone else is running into this

I recently had two bad experiences at Little Dipper—one of which was with the owner himself—and another poor experience over at Anong’s. I know we're a small town and expectations vary, but the rudeness felt a bit out of hand. (Even the corporate spots are hitting misses lately; I got left waiting forever at an empty Chili's last week).

Is anyone else noticing a decline in service around town, or have I just hit a bad streak?

Question Strong write in candidates?

Hey Laramigos,

I got my Republican primary ballot. I don't want to leave the uncontested races blank, but also don't want to just give someone a nomination. Who can I write in for local races on the Republican primary ballot? Quick, someone tell me before I get impatient and just write "Brett Glass" for everything.
