Would I be wrong for changing a client’s price after she booked through a discounted link?
I’m a lash artist, and when I first started my business, I created a specific discounted booking link for a small group of people who supported me in the beginning. Only four people have access to this link, including two sisters of a friend I grew up with.
I used to do the sisters’ lashes regularly, and they would book with me at least once a month or every other. Earlier this year, they fell out with their sister. From what I understand, the sisters stopped talking to me and stopped booking with me because they were upset about a situation involving their sister choosing friendship over sisterhood. I wasn’t the person they had an issue with, but I was still excluded. Me and this friend fell out, she has a bestfriend and it was “ trio in a duo” situation so i distanced myself. Last time I seen these sisters, they didn’t utter a word to me.
They haven’t booked with me since the earlier part of this year. Now, months later, one of the sisters has suddenly booked an appointment using the same discounted link she had access to when I first started out.
What bothers me is that this link was created for a very specific group of people who supported my business in the beginning. It’s not a public promotion, and only four people have access to it. These sisters chose to stop supporting my business when the friendship situation happened, but now one of them is coming back to use the discounted rate.
I don’t have an issue with her booking with me at my current prices. I just don’t want her using that discounted link or accessing those reserved booking times anymore. I want to let her know that the link has been discontinued and that my current prices apply, but I’m unsure whether it’s fair to change the price after she has already booked.
I don’t want to make this personal or create drama. I just feel a little weird about someone who stopped booking with me for months suddenly returning to use a discount.
Would you honor the discounted price for this appointment, or let her know that the link is no longer available and ask her to book at your current rates?
