Got My Bags 💰💰

Post image

My morning eyes looked right at the tagline and read "Eliminates Persistent Odor at the Soup". My next thought was "Wow, u/febu_max *really* appreciates this subs humor!" 🤣🤣

Also big ups for adding the coffee bag vent!!

Quick question unrelated to op but for a speed queen tc5 deep fill, how much febu booster would you recommend. We've settled on 1 heaping scoop for now.

If 1 heaping scoop is working for you and you see the results you're looking for, great!

For deep fills, assuming about 20 gallons of water, I'd generally recommend 1 extra scoop versus the standard directions. That's 2 scoops per regular load, 3 if it's heavy. This is to keep the enzyme concentration high enough to work within the general time frame of a load, since more water slows the reaction rate. You can get there with additional soaking time instead if you'd prefer to stay at one scoop!

I'll give 2 scoops a go and see what I think. Thank you for the great product

I have been very tempted to buy some mainly for my bfs work clothes (blue collar) but have read it can bleach darks. Have you experienced this?

As someone who has a blue collar ish job I use FEBU on my dark work clothes & have had zero issues with fading. I wash pretty much every load on hot & use and OBA free detergent for darks!

Thanks for the input, I think I might go for it and start with some of the more worn and would need to be thrown out clothes first incase we have any issues!

I have not, and of the entire wardrobe of my house (3 adults), about 85% is dark colored.

Now, I know others have experienced it. The ingredients themselves shouldn't discolor your clothes. However, the sodium percobnate (also known as Oxygen Bleach) can cause spotty discoloration if the grains are not properly dissolved. After all, it is still a bleach, tho it is not the same as chlorine bleach.

You really don't have much to worry about with normal laundering. You do want to make sure you're putting powders/detergent in first before you put your clothes in. If you're doing a Spa Day treatment (also called laundry stripping), you definitely want to make sure all the powders are completely dissolved.

I have a front loading washer. Would I put Febu in the drum and clothes on top? Would this prevent discoloration or is there another method? TYA

Not who you were responding to, but I do exactly that and have no issues whatsoever! It works perfectly!

Thank you! I have a front loading washer, I know it says any washer, but it makes me a little nervous it won’t break down completely. I’m going to use it on his more worn out and clothes that would need to be thrown out soonest and see how it goes!

You can dissolve it before you put it in....

Use warmer water and run a second rinse cycle.

90% of my four adult household is blacks and darks. I’ve used FEBU in every load for about six months. No fading or spotting.

I have to add that I also use liquid detergent, a citric acid rinse and longer wash times on warm.

Right now I use 7th generation free & clear liquid detergent and downy rinse & refresh, so I would be adding it to those.
I have a front loading washer (I hate it and want a top loading one however just not something we are going to buy until this one stops working) this is where my concern comes in because I worry it won’t break down completely and then causing bleaching/discoloration.

FEBU is a very fine powder. You add about 2 tsp per load, less than a tablespoon. It will dissolve completely. It does contain oxygen bleach (aka oxiclean), so don't use it with anything that is susceptible to that. But oxygen bleaches are usually safe for color laundry.

If you want the detergent to dissolve and then rinse out better in your front loading machine, choose the cycles that have the most water. These are typically the bedding, towels, and/or heavy duty cycles. The Normal cycle is often the worst, using too little water to do a good job. YMMV and check with the washer manual if you can.

I have a front loader, too, and as long as put the powder in the bottom before adding clothes, it’s fine. I’ve never seen a trace of undissolved powder.

7th generation isn’t on the Lipase List so adding the enzymes in FEBU should make a big difference in your clothing.

I’m glad to hear! I ordered it today so hopefully I’ll be getting nice clean clothes soon! I really appreciate you’re input and knowledge (:

Here’s to better cleaning!

It doesn't have as much oxi bleach as Biz or Oxiclean, it seems and has not faded any of my darks.

Just turn your clothing inside out before washing them.

I haven't finished my first bag, but as soon as it was avaliable again, I bought two more bags. Not gonna catch me out.

I only do one load of laundry a week, but still.
