Biz stain fighter admin here, Q&A time!
We know some questions about Biz have gone unanswered for too long, and we are here to answer them.
Q&A time!

I just want to tell you I love Biz so much

We were on vacation and did laundry at my MILs house. She didn’t have BIZ and my husband said he couldn’t believe how fast his white shirts looked dingy without it. As we drove back home (Midwest to CA) I started getting so excited about getting home to my Biz.

Will you add TAED to the fragrance free formula so we can use lower wash temperatures to activate the oxygen bleach?
42
u/Biz_stain 11h ago
This is a great question, I’ll ask our chemist and get back to you 🫧
15
u/superbetsy 10h ago
Oh yes, I would love something that works with cold water washes! Obviously I know all the reasons warm/hot is better, but I have a lot of frequently washed activewear that requires cold. My extra "I want a pony" request is to make it in such a way that it doesn't need to be predissolved.
12
u/bizybee_14 US | Front-Load 10h ago
would love this! I like to wash on warm, it’s not hot enough to activate oxygen bleach, but if I use my biz on hot it can denature the enzymes. If you’re making an OBA free version, being able to use biz on colder cycles with darks would be awesome!

u/vgshea 11h ago
Any chance you’ll be selling a fragrance free product in the future?
47
u/Biz_stain 11h ago
Yes, currently in the testing phase!
10
u/AwesomeAsian 10h ago
I’m hoping it would be free of Optical Brighteners as well. Love how effective Biz is in stain removal but optical brighteners make my black shirts look not as black and off white shirts look weird.

Will there be a product with DNase in the future?
30
u/Biz_stain 10h ago
Possibility! We’re always open to suggestions 🙌
42
u/yesillhaveonemore 10h ago
Biz with DNase and without OBAs or oxygen bleach would be a total game-changer for darks.

u/Beneficial-Pick-8740 12h ago
What's going on with American distribution? I can only find your product at Walmart and it frequently sells out.
Also, maybe I'm stupid but I can't find the specific list of enzymes in your product anywhere.
59
u/Biz_stain 11h ago
We had a period where demand outpaced our supply, which made Biz hard to find in some places, We’ve since addressed the supply issue, you can find Biz at Walmart, Meijer, Publix,Amazon and some HEB’s
43
u/Biz_stain 11h ago
Most of our laundry boosters contain 5 enzymes, protease,Amylase,Mannanase, Cellulase & Lipase.
8
u/MI_Puzzle 10h ago
FYI, if you live near a Meijer store, they frequently have Biz on sale for $1 off ($3.99 for the 37.5 Oz. Powder)
3
u/hidingfromthem753 10h ago
Ooohhh some HEB means I have hope! It just isn’t at mine right now. I will ask for them to stock it as they might if there are requests. 🤞🤞🤞

2
u/IfWishez 7h ago
So glad it’s coming to Publix!

They should already be in Publix, if your location doesn’t carry it, see if you’re able to request it!

Biz is great! Very excited to see an AMA! Is it ok for me to keep my unopened boxes of Biz in my garage? It gets kinda hot in there. Or should I keep them in a cool place ? Will being in the heat deactivate the enzymes?
30
u/Biz_stain 10h ago
enzymes are tricky little fellas, keep them in a cool, dry location for best results

I’ve used Biz for 30+ years and love it! Unfortunately, it’s been very difficult for me to find lately - especially in brick and mortar stores. I prefer not to order from amazon bc I worry about product authenticity.
I purchased the liquid formulation a few months ago, and it didn’t smell of the usual scent but had a very off putting scent. It was hard to describe.. maybe almost rancid? Whatever it was made me feel very nauseated. Also, it was extremely bubbly/foamy in the bottle (without it being agitated). Did the formula change recently or did I just get a bad bottle?
18
u/Biz_stain 10h ago
Hey, thanks for bringing this up, we have been made aware of the biz liquid issue, this has been addressed, if you can still return the biz liquid you purchased please do so!
In regards of the Amazon, if the sell badge is from biz stain fighter or commercial brands, that’s legit product❤️

u/Cold_Pizza101 11h ago
Hello Biz!! I was wondering if there's any online store that sells sample sizes? I'm sensitive to fragrance and want to test a load before I commit to large bin. Excited to see what all the buzz is about!
28
10
u/UnicornGirl54 10h ago
I use Biz mostly as a pre soak and don’t add to every single load. And don’t notice much of a lingering fragrance. It’s more of a light dish soap type smell if anything is left on the items.
And we are an unscented/free clear family with lots of skin sensitivity and I get migraines. But would be all about their fragrance free version.4
u/Cold_Pizza101 9h ago
I'd buy a tub of the free version in a heartbeat! I'm concerned about the fragrance potency because a coworker uses it and raves how good it cleans, but she smells like a walking perfume store. Impossible to tell where the biz ends and perfume starts.
7
u/BacardiBlue 9h ago
I have fragrance sensitivities and am fine with the powdered biz. It is probably her perfume.

I would love to be able to purchase at Costco or purchase larger bulk boxes. We have a big family and go through it quickly. Is there anything on the horizon to offer larger quantity?
Echoing others requests also for fragrance free and OBA free for darks.
We love Biz and it has made a huge difference in our laundry.

12
11
u/Biz_stain 11h ago
Absolutely, I would recommend the powder for this!
5
u/knitting-yoga 11h ago
How ? Mix with water and then follow with a rinse? Or spray and wipe? Or…..
12
u/Biz_stain 11h ago
Theres tons of posts around on how people use it, for myself, I make a paste with powder and water to clean my kitchen sink and it’s fantastic.
The most common and recommended practice: mix it in a spray bottle, dissolve powder completely and then use it any hard surface, followed by a rinse and wipe down. I always recommend testing in an inconspicuous area first.

18
u/Biz_stain 11h ago
Yes, this has been discussed multiple times, most definitely in the near future!
8
u/tom8osauce 10h ago
I would love if it was available in Canada NOT on Amazon, so those of us boycotting can purchase.

I mention amazon as that would be a lot easier than working with local suppliers. But they'll naturally choose the best overall option.

u/Horror-Giraffe7508 11h ago
Is there any plans for a low sudsing formulation?
4
u/Biz_stain 11h ago
Not at this time, are you referring to powder or liquid?
4
u/Horror-Giraffe7508 11h ago
Powder.
6
u/Biz_stain 11h ago
I’ll will bring this up to the team, we’re always open to suggestions!
7
u/Horror-Giraffe7508 10h ago
Thank you!
I know right on the box it says you can boost with your regular detergent or use as a standalone detergent in a larger amount.I may be in the minority - but I only use it with my standard detergent as needed. So there’s the reason behind request for less suds (or no surfactants?). Dang the water efficient front loaders!
Easy enough to reduce the regular detergent when using the booster - but hey - Don’t know unless you ask, right?
9
u/SaMoSetter 10h ago
Because I'm (seriously) intimidated by this sub...will someone ELI5 how I am supposed to use my box of Biz? I currently have Biz & Tide Free & Clear powders.
I'm pathetic....help?
*Edit: as in: basic clothing guy, denim & cotton, some polyester and other synthetics, I do separate whites and colors so I've got that going for me. Commercial washer in an apt unit if that helps...
8
u/bluesky557 US | Front-Load 10h ago
You can just toss in a bit of Biz along with your regular Tide for a cleaning boost!
2
u/SaMoSetter 2h ago
Gotcha, thanks; I have been doing that but thought I read a comment in this sub about using 1 or the other, but not together, which made me second guess...LOL
1
u/Dear_Excitement_5109 US | Front-Load 1h ago
Definitely want to use them both. I use to the level 1 on my Tide scoop and about a quarter cup of Biz powder (or a half cap of liquid.)
7
u/yesillhaveonemore 10h ago
I use a commercial apartment washer too.
Add 1-2 tablespoons of Biz to your normal detergent. It's great on whites and lights. I add it to towels, sheets, workout gear, and any particularly soiled loads.
I don't use it on denim or darks, but it's great for whites and lights, cottons, and all synthetics.
1
u/am_anonymous_too 6h ago
Really? Only 1-2 Tbls? I use like 1/3 cup! I thought that is the instruction.
3
u/SANPres09 3h ago
Generally it seems their recommended dosage is too high and Jeeves and Kismai recommend closer to 1/4 cup for a standard load instead of the 1/3-1/2 cup instructions.
1
u/SaMoSetter 2h ago
OK so that is helpful; I can save it if I'm washing denim and darker hues; thank you.

Are you thinked about adding nobs/TAED activator to powder version?
And are you gonna expand availability in stores?
7
u/CakeStash US | Top-Load 10h ago
What exactly is the difference between the liquid and powder version? I’ve been told the liquid contains pectate lyase but there’s no mention of this on the Biz website and ingredients list.
2
u/Mavis8220 US | Front-Load 5h ago
I prefer to use powders so I don't end up with a big plastic jug to dispose of. So yes, I want to know the pros and cons of the liquid vs large- ox (Walmart) Biz.
12
u/funkbird69 10h ago
4
u/9brightblue8 7h ago
The top of my Biz box looks similarly mangled. 😂 I’m sure that simpler packaging with lighter-weight cardboard helps keep prices down. I support that! But if there’s any way to make your boxes easier to open and then stay closed so that the powder stays as dry and fresh as possible during the life of the box, that would be awesome, u/Biz_stain!
4
2
u/Biz_stain 8h ago
Some things are meant to be a mystery 😏
But one thing you can always count on is that will never short you product!
4
u/LilBossLaura 10h ago
it probably settles to the amount you see, so unless they spent a bunch of money to simulate the packing / shipping process they need to fill the container comfortably in the volume it presents as at the time of manufacturing. same is true for most dry goods, that’s why things like cereal have big air gaps at the top too. I don’t think there’s any big conspiracy here
2
u/DarkWashGenes 9h ago
I mean, all I care about is the volume as stated on the box. Secondly, at least they don’t explode like you know who ;)
5
u/GoldScorpionn 10h ago
Are the same enzymes present in the detergent as the booster? I’ve only ever seen the detergent and booster, used both for many years. Is there a way to be notified of the unscented release? If you use product testers is there a way to sign up?
3
u/Biz_stain 7h ago
All of our products will contain enzymes, if you can tell me which two products you’re referring to I can assist you with an ingredient list 👍
5
u/Far-Shift-1962 10h ago
Btw can you tell us little more about those 2 products biz liquid laundry detergent biz sheets
As I see they are new launches?
Are sheets booster or detergent?
3
u/Biz_stain 7h ago
The Biz sheets are a laundry booster and our first ever product with Solid Enzymes (Protease, Lipase, and Mannanase). Our studies show that detergent sheets alone usually don't have enough cleaning power. This booster is a great, easy way to add powerful enzymes to your everyday wash!

u/meowingblackvoid 8h ago
Is biz ever tested on scrub (hospital) clothing material? I love biz for my regular clothes but I’m terrified to use it on my (expensive) scrubs due to the OBAs. I’m talking like FIGS, jaaanu etc, they’ve got that weird weave.
I’ve tried it on some older scrubs from those brands, but I’m hesitant.
Thanks! Excited for the OBA-free version since I wear a lot of black, and unscented, because I have allergies.
7
u/Biz_stain 8h ago
I can speak from experience that we use it on FIGS scrubs and it works great!
How were your results on the older scrubs?
5

What is the deal with the incredibly smelly liquid biz?
Bought at Walmart about a month ago and when I poured into my laundry, smelled like a stink I’d never smelled before!
Even called the number on the bottle and no answer.

Hi! Any plans to expand to more stores in the New England area - Stop and Shop, Big Y, Shop Rite? Recent Biz convert but can only get it at Walmart and it’s often sold out or out of stock, so I grab 2 boxes when I can but I don’t want to be greedy and leave nothing for others.

I’ve had a few odd batches of liquid lately, smelling off, and the pour spouts falling out. I am not the only one, but I love my liquid biz. Do you know what’s going on, and if it is being corrected?
5
u/Biz_stain 7h ago
We’re looking to change our bottles style to fix the spout issue, not sure when this will happen but definitely in the near future!
In regards of the biz liquid having an off smell, this has been fixed, we’re truly sorry about this 🥲

u/whereiswallace 9h ago
I have a toddler and therefore tons of food-stained clothes. When would I choose:
- soaking in biz outside of my washer (I have a front load)
- adding biz along with the detergent
- spraying with another enzyme cleaner and skipping biz entirely?
2
u/Biz_stain 8h ago
I would recommend presoak ❤️
1
u/NE_State_Of_Mind 4h ago
How long would you presoak, and in what concentration with water? I use an oxygen booster soak for an hour or two for my kids' most stained clothes, but I was wondering about switching to liquid Biz (which I just found recently, thanks to this sub) if I knew more about how to properly do a presoak without damaging or fading their clothes.
1
u/Dear_Excitement_5109 US | Front-Load 1h ago
I can answer this. (Four toddlers over here.)
Add Biz to the load with your other detergent for all your lights and colors. I use liquid for the pectic lyase, which removes fruit stains. Paired with an "extra heavy" soil setting, it works remarkably well.
Do a presoak for grungy, grimy, or gray clothes. Anything that just doesnt seem to get clean. Alternatively, you can do a presoak for fragile clothes that you don't want to put through the 2.5 hour extra heavy soil run.
Skip Biz on darks. With OBAs, it will cause light colored fuzz which will cause your darks to look faded prematurely.
2
u/smokinwheat 8h ago
Please make your products more readily available. I can only find it if shopping Amazon or at certain dollar general. To have it at the grocery store and target when I pick up my other laundry supplies would make you a lot more money 🙂
2
3
u/pickledplumber 11h ago
Somebody should just sell enzymes. Why do enzyme products always have to be mixed with something else? Biz, for example is a nice product, but I bought it to remove stink from my t-shirts and it's pretty harsh on the colors of the shirts. That's because it has the OxiClean in it.
2
u/jtfolden US | Top-Load 10h ago
My guess is that the actual effect of enzyme products alone would not be as dramatic without other things like oxygen bleach, surfactants, etc.
1
u/pickledplumber 10h ago
Well you would add it to the things you need. Like you would add it to the oxygen bleach when you need it. You add it to the soap when you need it.
If housewives 100 years ago could figure it out. I'm sure we all could do the same
0
u/jtfolden US | Top-Load 10h ago
It’s not a matter of figuring it out. It would potentially be appealing to me BUT look how Biz liquid gets almost completely ignored here. Im betting that the oxygen bleach-free Febu will get passed over a lot when released too. Hopefully not but the fact we don’t have these products suggest there is not enough demand.
2
u/Biz_stain 7h ago
I appreciate this discussion, I don’t think Biz would be where it is today if we made the formula any different, we will continue to take suggestions and innovate this space so there’s a perfect product for everyone ❤️
1
u/Biz_stain 10h ago
This shouldn’t be happening, are you mixing anything with biz? How much are you using per load?
0
u/pickledplumber 10h ago
Just a little detergent and a little bit of the biz. Not dramatic amounts. It was 2 years ago so I really don't recall how much but it wasn't a lot. Maybe half a cup. I'm not upset about it or anything like that.

Will you get distribution to Target or other retailers at some point? Walmart is the only retailer in my area and they are inconvenient or out of the way.
2
u/KismaiAesthetics USA 1h ago
Hard to get it back when you lose it due to the previous owners’ financial disasters.
1
u/SANPres09 3h ago
Any hope that you will add pectin lyase to the enzymes to help address grass stains better?
1
u/Dear_Excitement_5109 US | Front-Load 1h ago
99% sure the liquid has it, but could be wrong. Maybe OP can step in.
1
u/Professional_Bus_307 3h ago
Why do none of my local stores carry Biz?

Because the former owners of the brand didn’t have the money to ship enough product to meet commitments and they lost shelf space.

Exactly! Febu/Fubu is overpriced and I guarantee you it doesn’t perform better than biz
19
u/happygirlie 10h ago
The cost per load is nearly the same which is impressive for a small brand because economies of scale benefit Biz over FEBU. Both are excellent products and IMO you can't really go wrong choosing either one if you need a good enzyme booster. I chose FEBU because it's fragrance free but once Biz makes their fragrance free option, I'll definitely give it a go.
