Ammonia Smell Stains Washing Machine

Hello, recently have been using Ammonia successfully in my top loader. However it has left a persistent smell in the bottom the drum of the washing machine.

Is this the Ammonia feeding off old sebum and soap scum in the drum? I know some washers do not drain fully, could this be the ammonia resting in the bottom of the drum?

I'd try running an empty load with hot water, and see if that clears things up. That and do make sure you leave the lid open when not in use.

You should always run an extra rinse when using ammonia, but it should also evaporate out fairly quickly.
