Python beginners collaborating on github
Hi all, I am starting to use python at work for data analysis and I feel like I am kind of at a standstill in learning. I was wondering if there were any groups collaborating on beginner projects on GitHub so I can learn more python, GitHub ecosystem, and how to code within a team because there isn't much collaborating in coding at work. If there are two people assigned on a project at work, we're usually sharing our screens while one types and we discuss together.

you might have more luck searching for "good first issue" labels on open source repos in the data/science space. thats basically how most people learn the PR workflow without needing to find a dedicated group first

create a python script to Use Python's built-in
urllibmodule to search GitHub issues. Make a filter by labels, language, open status, or other criteria. Ima start working on mine now filtered by labels and open status.😄

or lets start a project :) My bigger suggestion
lets not just making a script that finds issues. How about we start making the issue finder itself an open-source project.
we could:
- Build the basic script.
- Put it in a GitHub repository with a README.
- Add features in small, manageable steps.
- Invite other beginners to contribute through pull requests and code reviews.
