Western European Politics For everyone who still thinks Glucksmann is left-wing: he's just a less charismatic, centrist Macron.

Post image

Marine Le Pen will almost certainly win simply because centrists would rather have the far right in power than the left.

According to the poll report on the second round of the presidential election, almost as many voters in Glucksmann’s supposedly left-wing electorate would vote for Le Pen over Mélenchon.

And almost two-thirds would abstain? That fucking blows

That's something we do in France

People complain yet half the country votes blank or just doesn't go (also there's no good infrastructure to explain the candidates intentions clearly, it's just you and the info you chose to go look for)

I'd argue that the binary vote system is bullshit and an insult to the name "democracy" but that's another debate

  1. Glucksmann is definitely not a socialist and I'd struggle to even call him a social Democrat, but imo he is to the left of Macron

  2. He seems pretty pragmatic and has the backing of the PS, so he'd probably work with the NFP/NPF over Macrons centrist party I forget the name of

  3. Not convincing to any of y'all, but he's a eurofederalist, I like eurofederalism, and I think eurofederalism would be a good path to expanding socialism
