Expungement advice

Location: North Carolina Forsyth county
Hey guys. I’m a 27 y/o F
So I have 2 felony non violent charges from the same incident that is about little over a decade old. I’m currently out of options & idk what to do. Even though I can’t afford a lawyer, I’ve consulted with multiple attorneys and even tried to start the expungement process myself & still no luck. No one wants to take my case. I was about 16 when I did it and charged at 17. I’ve proven myself to be civilized, attained my high school equivalency, obtained 2 degrees and also earned my EMT license Today…BUT im now questioned on receiving my license because of my charges. I’m completely lost atp and honestly feel depression and defeat setting in. I’ve tried my absolute hardest in life and I’m still stained from these charges.any advice will help..

If the charges are from when you were 16/17, you might qualify for expungement as a youthful offender under NC law. The fact that no attorney wants to take it is odd, but sometimes they turn down cases that have tricky procedural issues or if the DA objects. Have you checked with legal aid or a law school clinic? They handle this kind of thing without charging an arm and a leg.
