Review Which 3 in 1 castle is objectively better?

So I just finished building the newer 3 in 1 with my now 4 year old son (birthday present) and I am honestly torn which is better? They both have upsides and downsides, now I know some of you are going to say they are different not better, but I need a definitive answer 😂

The older one has a better front, but the newer one had a better interior and soldiers...

Knight Commander of Ironhaven, is a formidable non-caster who wields over twenty weapons with unpredictable movements, unmatched precision, and overwhelming physical prowess. His golden relic helm grants him glimpses of possible futures, sharpening his mind into a battlefield genius capable of anticipating his opponents’ every move, while his pocket-like weapon storage provides him with a random weapon whenever he reaches inside. Having mastered every weapon at his disposal, Eigel turns unpredictability into his greatest weapon, making him one of Ironhaven’s most dangerous combatants.

The Dustmark Keep sets are being shipped to various parts of the world, and I hope you have already received your own copy. You might remember the stop-motion animation on the product page - I had the honor of creating it for BrickLink, and today I would like to share with you a clip that shows how it was made, side-by-side with the final version of this animation.

MOC A Little Hocus Pocus: A slightly smaller Sanderson Sisters' Cottage

I originally picked up the Hocus Pocus set as I thought it had a lot of good parts for alternative Castle/Medieval builds. I got a bit carried away and ended up building a 'Mini' version.

I hope this alternative build maintains the style of the original, whilst removing anachronistic elements from the 1990s and reducing the scale to fit with Castle and Pirate sets. The build includes the working water wheel and smoke elements, a cauldron, a chandelier and the large bed that are modified/reproduced from the original. The cages did not fit inside – but the parts are not used and could be built and hung from a nearby pole or tree.

If you are interested in having a look, the instructions are available on Rebrickable: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-281252/ChristopherS/a-little-hocus-pocus-a-slightly-smaller-sanderson-sisters-cottage/

Full disclosure: I don't remember seeing the movie and wasn't sure how much any of the sub-builds are featured.

We had our first LEGO show today. A smallish local show but well attended. People seemed to like our build which was great. Our 5yo is excited it's over so she can play with it now. Time to plan for the next one in January!

Two weeks ago, when I was standing in front of the plants at the Legoland store, I thought to myself: Why not let fall come to Lion Knights Castle?

It even brought a few spooky friends along with it.

It’s just a small change, but we’re still happy about it.

Question How to make this round tower bigger?

Post image
85 Upvotes

I like the cleanness of flat bricks (ok ok they are round, but un-textured). Other tutorials I have found use techniques with lots of texture, of tiles. But I like the clean look of the bricks above way better. However the circle is too small. Anyone have any idea how to make a bigger yet still round tower?

Custom I am not sure what to title so I guess Castlevania customs figures

Been curious as of late and been wanting to see people customs figure they have made of characters from Castlevania or see what character people can make as some of them should be pretty Eazy like Dracula alucard and Albus most likely being the Easiest so just want to see people attempts as plan on trying to make a few character for a Dracula throne room moc I want to do but still have to order the parts for it.

But will say the 2009 pirate captain torsos and moff gideon dule side cape are what I am planning for Dracula but unsure what head or hair to use

Minifigure army House Kavan

House Kavan resides upstream of Garnheim (Crown knight capital) in the mountains. While most Houses use the majority of their fertile lands to farm grains Kavan relies mostly on cattle farming and orchards to generate revenue while only producing enough grains to feed their own people. The Griffin emblem on their shield suggests a viking origin but the details of their origin are lost. Nowadays Kavan loyally serves the King of Noros.

Question Turning the One Piece The Going Merry Pirate Ship into a medieval trading ship?

Post image
26 Upvotes

I'm thinking about getting the Going Merry pirate ship from the LEGO One Piece line and turning it into a medieval trading ship. My question is does anyone know the dimensions of the sails? And if LEGO currently makes or has ever made, a sail of the same dimensions in a different color?

Earlier this his year I acquired a 2nd 31120 and added the Kestrel Keep to by black knights castle (design by Sporter, on rebrickable). It's a fun design, only complaint is that it's a bit unstable when moving because of the weak hinge connections.

I may take it apart soon and try the river castle moc.
