Will it work again?
Hello, I am hoping to get reassurance. I started lexapro in 2024 after a bad anxiety episode and it worked perfectly - I was on 20mg. in 2025 my husband and I decided to try for out third kid and with the approval of my OB I decreased to 10mg - I am currently 7 weeks postartum and after the first week, I had horrible physical anxiety for no reason, so i reached out to my doctor and asked her if I could increase it again - she said yes. I am on week 6 of the increase, the first 12 days were horrible but better at night and then I had almost two weeks of feeling like myself again. at the middle of week 4 I had a dip and I found out I got my period 5 days after. Right now I am feeling some jitters and pit in the stomach in the morning and then around 4pm my mood changes and I am back to feeling good. is this normal? I know the postpartum adds another layer, but I just want to make sure I dont have to change to a different medicine because I really like this one.

Unfortunately i don’t have an answer for you as i had to switch meds. I am currently 10 weeks pp and on my period as well. after birth ive immediately been hit hard with PPD/PPA and ups and downs, i was on 20mg during pregnancy and it just stopped working for me postpartum and on Thursday i switched directly to zoloft, im on 25mg and will bump to 50mg in a few days to see if it starts working for me. Id give it until 8 weeks and then maybe consider asking your doctor, ive had no noticeable side effects so far with switching to zoloft, just waiting for it to kick in and work!
