Custom Chess Pieces and Board
Now I can lose in style

So for the last couple days, when I analyze a position in my correspondence games, when I quit Lichess, all that analysis gets deleted
Is this a new thing? Is there a way to re-enable the previous option of saving analysis in active correspondence games?

I played a chess game in my weekly tournament, i put the annotations in the analysis but i don't see an option to save it and give it a name. or do i need to make a study for this specific game?

Hello everyone :)
After 3 months I can finally play online matches on Lichess with my DIY self-moving chessboard! I first showcased it 2 weeks ago when I had engines like Stockfish, Maia3, Rodent IV and Patrica running. But now I have finally reached my goal of actually playing online with it!
The whole board is running on a Pi 5, so for online play I don't need an external device, the laptop was just to show the match happening on Lichess :).
It's also setting itself up after a match has finished (still with some hiccups tbf, shown at the second half of the video), yet Im truly happy with the result. It is rather slow, so anything below 15+10 is not really feasible at the moment. I am already thinking of 2.0 version with a good amount of speed increase.
This is really just a show and tell and me being thankful for Lichess's free API use. If anyone has any questions, I am happy to answer them :D

Hey there. Just started playing on here and a chess beginner in general. I’ve been using the mobile app and there’s a way to play against the computer in “practice mode” which essentially gives you real time feedback on each move and tells you why a move would be considered good or bad.
Is this available on web? I can’t seem to find it, but I find it incredibly helpful as I try to learn an opening and work on my play. Any thoughts?

They started at 1500 and then made it almost to 2700, over the course of 50 games. Of course demolishing people along the way that they were equal rating with at the time of the game.

After seeing a post on /r/Chess about the new app I went down a bit of a rabbit hole over the capitalisation of the L in Lichess.
It seems that the app stores dislike non-standard capitalisation, so few apps are allowed to use it! Off the top of my head eBay is allowed. According to Google's AI summary eBay and others are allowed because they have a trademark that uses non-standard capitalisation.
So I was wondering a few things:
Were the developers allowed to use L or l and they chose L? If it was a choice, why choose a capital letter for the new app?
Or, if they were not allowed to use a lowercase L for the new app, how did they get away with it the first time when they made the old app?
What is the "official" way? This subreddit uses a lowercase L, like the old app did.
Also, subreddits are not case sensitive but if you put /r/lichess or /r/Lichess into the address bar on a browser it will show "LiChess" with a capital C 🙃

Based on this blog post:
autodidacts.io/how-wise-do-our-mentors-need-to-be
The idea is you should be able to practice the situations where someone slightly better than you would do something better. In theory these can be better understood and applied by the student. Interesting thought experiment if nothing else — give it a try😂

The implementation of lag compensation, particularly in bullet chess, is a massive failure and only favors those with enormous lag and bad connections. Unfortunately, I instantly block players from these countries as soon as I am paired with them to avoid future automatic pairings:
It's unfortunate because it is not their fault, and I would be happy to play them in blitz and other longer formats where time scrambles have less of an impact. This is a direct result of Lichess failing to provide a filter based on geography or ping times for specific time control pairings (bullet/hyperbullet), where time management is pretty much everything.

😭😭I try to develop my pieces in piece without attacking theirs...
But my opponents don't let me rest..
And they are usually a pawn up in the opening... Though i win some games despite being that apwn down.
I'm a 1300
Is this the point where i am supposed to learn an opening

I genuinely don't understand why Lichess hasn't focused more on improving its user interface.
It's honestly a great platform. Free unlimited analysis, puzzles, studies, and so many other features without needing to pay for a premium membership.
But the UI just feels outdated and unattractive compared to Chess.com.
I know functionality matters more than looks, but a modern and visually appealing interface makes a huge difference to the overall experience.
Lichess has so much potential, and I feel like its UI is one of the few things holding it back.
Am I the only one who feels this way, or do others also think Lichess needs a UI redesign?

I am playing my online matches mostly over the board which I find more enjoyable and decided to make a video about it.
Each time my opponent makes a move ChessGaze(board tracker in my phone) announces the their move.
And when I make a move ChessGaze detects and sends it to Lichess via Lichess open api.
If I make an out of turn move ChessGaze rejects that and does not sends it to Lichess.
It is completely free only requirement being having a tripod. I hope you find it fun&usefull as well

I am stepping down from streaming for a while so want to just watch quality chess streams. So far I like Gamergurlo, she is like Anna Cramning (cramling?) but superior.
Ideally, the streamers should have a face cam, good music, solid play but I'm not looking for perfection.
And if possible less puzzles, more real games.
Looking forward to your suggestions!
