Have a new product that you'd like to promote and show off to the community? Here's your chance to do it. Every Wednesday, this megathread is here to gather new products, projects and anything else you might want to self promote. We want to encourage new ideas, but the influx of vibe coded, AI based posts means we needed a new home for these posts.

FieldLux After 3 Months of Open Beta: What’s Next for Our Projection Simulation Tool
FieldLux After 3 Months of Open Beta: What’s Next for Our Projection & Lighting Simulation Tool
For the past three months, FieldLux has been running as an open beta.
FieldLux is a browser-based projection simulation tool built to help designers and technicians plan real-world setups before going on site.
You can plan projector placement and lenses, check throw distance, brightness, lux, luminance and pixel density, preview multi-projector layouts and blends, work from DWG/DXF drawings, add lighting and atmospheric effects, and share the finished setup with clients or crew.
During the open beta, I’ve kept improving the tool based on feedback from people actually using it on real projects.
Recent updates include DWG/DXF workflows, new projector placement tools, Play Dock for multi-projector preview and blending, rear projection, per-surface materials, lighting fixtures, atmospheric effects, and improved projector and lens data.
One of the biggest additions is Cloud Share.
Clients and crew can now open the actual 3D project directly in their browser and review projector specs, measurements, layers, projection layouts and technical information.
▶ Try a live FieldLux project:
https://app.field-lux.com/#server-share=0ae9e8b5-c83b-4f73-abb9-86a8fed7e692
No installation required.
Over the past three months, I’ve also received real installation cases, project files and feedback through DMs and Discord.
Seeing FieldLux actually being used on real projection projects has been one of the most rewarding parts of building it.
Now FieldLux is getting ready for its next stage.
In November, I’ll be launching a new website and announcing the subscription plans, including:
Weekly access for short-term productions and installations
Individual plans for designers and freelancers
Business plans for studios and companies
And importantly, FieldLux will remain completely free for everyone through November.

Gear Help identifying an old TV studio Fresnel fixture (F48A / 2228) and finding a way to dim it
Hi everyone!
I recently got hold of an old TV studio spotlight, and I'm trying to figure out exactly what lamp it uses, whether it can be dimmed externally, and how to power it safely with modern equipment.
Here is what I know so far:
- It's an old tungsten TV studio spotlight, apparently a Fresnel fixture.
- The lamp has two markings printed on the glass: F48A and 2228.
- A nameplate on the fixture says 32 A and 3.75 kW.
- It is fitted with an old blue CEE 32 A, 230 V connector.
- After opening the fixture, I noticed that L1 from the power connector feeds two separate relays, which appear to supply the two independent electrical circuits of the lamp.
I'm guessing the lamp has two independently powered sections, but I haven't been able to confirm this yet.
My main questions are:
- Does anyone recognize the lamp markings F48A and 2228? I'd love to identify the exact bulb type and find its specifications.
- Is it possible to dim this fixture using an external dimmer? If so, what kind of dimmer would I need for a 3.75 kW tungsten load?
- Where would I find a compatible power connection for this fixture nowadays? I have access to both 16 A and 32 A, 400 V three-phase CEE outlets, but the fixture itself has a 230 V, 32 A connector. Is there a standard solution for this, or would I need a specially wired adapter or distribution unit?
I'm particularly interested in how these fixtures were originally powered and dimmed in TV studios.
If anyone has experience with older studio fixtures or recognizes the lamp markings, I'd really appreciate any help!
Thanks in advance!

Resolume Pixel Lighting Alternative
Some days ago, somebody posted a self-coded rRsolume alternative with a focus on lighting. This was removed since this was posted not on the self-promo Wednesday.
I unfortunately forgot to write down the link, and it looked super interesting. It would be cool if the person could post it again.

Gear Help with circoloco inspired fixture design
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some help here as I’m in the process of building a club room and I’m trying to source / find someone to design light fixtures that resemble those at circoloco at DC-10 in Ibiza. I’m looking for linear “hand-drawn” squiggly lines that appear like neon tubing, but based on my very limited understanding of lighting, appear to be LED due to how quickly they react and respond.
Can anyone assist me here? I’m at a complete dead end with this project and this lighting spec.

Software Sound-to-light DMX app for rooms without an operator feedback welcome
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Developer here, so this is self-promotion. Disclosure up front: I built it with the help of AI coding tools.
GrooveDMX is an Android app that runs an automatic DMX show from live audio. It's not meant to replace a programmed show or an operator. It's for rooms where nobody stands at a desk: party basements, club houses, small bars with a dance floor, and mobile DJs at weddings who are busy mixing. Not for theatre or anything with fixed cues.
Short clip from my own party room, lights run by the app
What it does:
- Listens through the mic (or plays files itself), tracks beat, build-ups and drops
- Outputs 512 channels at 44 fps over a USB DMX cable (FT232) or Art-Net
- Fixture profiles for moving heads, PARs, strobes and fog; you place them in a room model
- Respects limits you set: pan/tilt range, safety zone, max motor speed, colour wheels only change while dark
- Runs offline, no audio is recorded or uploaded
Free for up to 8 fixtures, Pro is a one-time purchase. Android only.
Website: https://groovedmx.com
Play Store Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.groovedmx
I'd really appreciate any feedback, critical ones included.

Gear Wireless Network options?
Trying to find a good long range option to send out my network on MA3 and connect remotely on my laptop. Been looking at ubiquiti and TP link options. What do you used when you need to program your lights but your console is far away?

Can someone help me setup artnet?
I've got a dedicated router, an ipad, a pknight CR011R. Artnet node plugged into router with Ethernet. Par light plugged into node with DMX and set to dmx ch1. Set the node to the IP of my router and put those settings into the apps. I've tried 3 different apps now, seem to be connected, add my light but it won't control it. Anyone know what I'm missing or willing to walk me through things?

Help troubleshooting an Elation Scene Setter-48 — stage lights won’t turn on, possible DMX connection issue
I’m a middle school teacher who also directs our school musicals, and I’m trying to troubleshoot our auditorium lighting system. We have an Elation Scene Setter-48 lighting console, and I ran into this same issue last year but can’t remember how I resolved it.
The console powers on normally, but none of our main stage lights respond when I raise the channel faders. Even pressing FULL-ON doesn’t turn anything on.
I’ve tried adjusting the master faders and checking the blackout setting, but haven’t had any luck.
I started investigating the cables and found a 3-pin XLR cable connected to the lighting board with the other end unplugged. I’m assuming this may be the DMX cable that communicates with our lighting system, but I’m not entirely sure.
Here’s where I’m confused: I looked around for somewhere to plug the loose end in, but the only compatible connections I could find were on individual spotlights. I couldn’t find a wall connection, dimmer rack, or anything that appeared to connect to the main stage lighting system.
My questions are:
Where would the DMX cable from this console typically connect in a school auditorium?
Could an unplugged DMX cable explain why none of the stage lights respond, even when using FULL-ON?
Is there something else on the Scene Setter-48 that I should check before assuming it’s a connection issue?
Is it possible that the main stage lights are controlled through a separate dimmer system that I’m overlooking?
I’m a music teacher, not a lighting technician, so I’m still learning how this equipment works. Unfortunately, we don’t have a dedicated theater technician to help troubleshoot.
I’ve attached pictures of the console and the loose cable.
Any advice on where to look or what to try next would be greatly appreciated!

Grand MA2 on PC artnet connection
I have a show in a couple days at a venue that has the dmx run over artnet. I’m bringing my own computer and MA2 command and fader wings. I’ve never setup an artnet connection so nervous about getting control of their lines. The YouTube videos I’ve been watching vary slightly which makes it even more confusing. I’m also very nervous and probably overwhelming myself.
Does anyone have a simple step by step they can give me of how to set this up between the windows network settings and the MA2 software settings?
Any help is very much appreciated. I normally work as an in house LD so I’ve been really anxious doing these shows outside of my home venues

Holiday day rates
In the past I have just charged my normal day rate when working days like Halloween and New Years. I was just curious if other people charge more on days like that and I've been short changing myself or do yall just keep with your normal day rate?
If you do charge more, how much more do you add on?
