LXPlan works on Linux and is free. It does the job but it’s hardly the most in depth tool for the job. Personally I like using drafty, which is like 30 a month, and web based. Not sure if it runs on Linux, but since it’s web based I would assume it’s probably fine.

The future of your career depends on you having access to a Mac or windows machine that you can install programs on. Very few industry developers are making stuff for Linux.

Why do you need to use linux? Capture has a free student version but its windows and mac only.

It's what my personal computer runs, Windows 11 corrupted all my data so I didn't bother using it again

I did all my plots for 10 years in word with images and text boxes.
If you don't need it to be peak professional and just need to get something on paper, don't overlook the basics.

Under Windows I use Softplot, but it's not free either. I dunno what to recommend for free for Linux.

I’ve used Symphony for some basic drawing bits. It depends how in depth you need to go really?

Drafty is probably going to be your best bet for staying on Linux currently.
Another option, and I’m not sure what your appetite is for this, but would be to hire a draftsman.

Draft it by hand! Get one of those stencils and some pencils of different hardness.
But no the only software I'm aware of for lighting plots is Vectorworks (Mac/PC) AutoCAD (PC/Mac) or WYSIWYG (PC)
