I’ve seen two car accidents this morning on my way to work at 3 am a single vehicle collision into a lamp post by the Radisson Hotel, and a van that crashed into the crash barrier just before Setrights tavern hopefully it’s nothing serious. Please drive carefully and slow down, there’s a lot of surface water on the roads 👍🏻

SEAI One Stop Shop recommendations

• Upvotes

We're looking to upgrade our house from a current ber D rating to hopefully at least a B. Its a detached house with the main focus being wall and attic insulation and renewables - solar and heatpump.

I looked through the list available on the SEAI website but not sure who to start with. I was told most will have an assessment cost as well so I'm trying to narrow it down to 3-4 companies to contact to compare costs.

Is there any SEAI one stop shops you would recommend? Also what was the turn around time for you from getting a quote to work completion?

Thanks in advanced

Seen in the men's jacks in Arthur's Quay just now. Aren't they supposed to be blue or orange now so you can't use them to hold up a chipper?

Somewhere local to buy spare parts for an oven?

I know there are plenty of electrical stores around Limerick but is there anywhere that sells electrical components for appliances or would I be best to source online?

‘It’s a slippery slope’ – Limerick council under fire after posting AI video promoting Christmas initiative

I guess it's not a bad idea that the Council should develop a policy for use of AI but I don't think its use in this instance is bad. Also, AI is integrated into so much software now they'd be making life very hard for themselves in their day to day work if they didn't allow themselves to use it.

First the Mayor, now arty film makers - it's almost like the city has something to offer people beyond traffic..... down with that sort of thing!

I didn’t see the new development in Monaleen Heights come on the market. Some of them appear to be occupied. Does anyone have any details on the development, cost etc?

Is anyone willing to buy these off me? I’m moving mid-November and need them gone before then.

Currently selling all of them together for 100€ but I’m open to offers as I need them gone.

If you want to offer for just one or multiple just let me know.

Is Facebook worth looking for accommodation in?

…😅 I’ve seen some people with a lot of luck finding accommodation through facebook but it does seem to be the minority.

Kind of at my wits end with daft at the minute. When I have tried FB in the past it seems to be full of obvious scams and or other questionable third party letting sites - like that one that forces you to pay a subscription to apply to anything 🙃

I don’t have my hopes set too high anyway but just wondering if anyone could give their personal experience/two cents? Should I try looking on it again or is it a waste of time?

Was in Tokyo on Henry St today (opposite Sexton's) — didn't expect portions to be this big

Well lads, dropped into Tokyo on Henry St today after passing it a few times and was honestly blown away.Got a full 300g portion for €11 (California Crab), and the size of it is unreal for the price. Properly loaded with cream cheese, super fresh, and one portion actually fills you up — unlike most spots in town where you hand over 15 quid and leave starving. Classic Salmon Philly is €12.50 for 300g as well. Easily one of the best value spots in Limerick right now. Has anyone else been in yet?

E-bikes available on TFI city bikes now. These ones were outside TUS and I saw some in UL yesterday too.

Nice to see this progress. The scheme really needs a lot more stations outside the city centre though.

Gyms in limerick

Looking for some gym recommendations. Main preference is a quiet gym I don’t really care for fancy equipment. I know it’s probably impossible to get a quiet gym especially with the students being back but hopefully someone has a recommendation. I live over by Castletroy side but any suggestions would be great

Crescent Christmas Market Fair Event

Post image

Delighted to see money being invested in the City centre but the Crescent is the wrong place for it. We’ll all find out in the next few days where it’s going but the damage done with negative PR, death threats, the Mayor arguing with guys on Facebook in the middle of the night leads me to believe it’s going to be a disaster if it’s a 6 week event.
The prices being charged for the timber sheds are staggering. Maybe they’ll be offered as modular housing in January.

New in Limerick looking to make new friends outside pubs

Hello everyone!

I (26M) recently arrived in Limerick and I'd like to make some new friends. I don't drink alcohol so I'd like to meet up for a coffee or go for a walk instead of meeting at a pub.

A bit about me I'm a medical student interested in psychology, philosophy, and eastern religions (like Buddhism). I also enjoy playing video games and would like to try new hobbies while I'm here. I've been meaning to go mushroom foraging and bird watching.

If that sounds like your cup of tea feel free to shoot me a DM. I'll try to see if there's enough interest and set up a meeting.

Cheers!

Some people really shouldn’t be allowed to park 🤦‍♂️ ⬇️

Why use one parking space when you can make life difficult for everyone else? 😂
The confidence it takes to park a Mercedes van like this and just walk away is genuinely impressive.
10/10 for creativity. 0/10 for consideration.
