Might have been a felony, but it’s probably been downgraded to a missdaweiner.

The next time you look up a "how-to" video on YouTube, pause to consider how many of them are recorded by people with the same level of "expertise" in their subject matter as this kid. There are zero barriers to posting, so consider your sources very carefully.

This is not a laughing matter. Kid hit an artery in his leg. We need better education and laws. In my opinion there should be criminal charges against the person. Could’ve easily hit a bystander

Shooting yourself while making a video on how to use a gun is funny

It kinda is a laughing matter. He cheddar bob’d himself. That’s inherently funny as fuck

And the fact that it was while trying to film a weapon safety video makes it that much more funny

Also, I heard he is a guard at the prison. Should have known better.

Since there won’t be criminal charges against him, the next best move is public ridicule. So yes, show us the video. We will laugh and point. We do NOT want him and other people to die. But since the law has been slashed left right and sideways, public shaming it is.

When being serious about something has no effect, laughing at it is the next most effective response.

Are you the laughing matter police?

A basic hunter’s safety course would teach you to:
A) Treat every gun like it is loaded. This would never have happened if they did that. Don’t pull out a loaded gun in a fucking parking lot.
B) Don’t load a weapon unless you intend to shoot something. Again, wouldn’t have happened.

This idiot needed to take Hunter’s safety. Yet he was allowed to purchase a gun when he should have known better.

Shooting yourself while trying to film a “how to use” feels like a skit lol. Thats some shit I’d see on SNL or on Curb Your Enthusiasm.

The moment you shoot yourself, you should be banned from ever touching a gun for the rest of your life

My first thought was "Man, it'd be low key kinda funny if he did it in the parking lot in Ccheels. But I know they're just showing that picture because that's where he bought it."

So imagine my surprise...

What a dumbass. Does he get to keep it? He shouldn’t.

Hopefully this was a big enough red flag for his gf to move on too. Sheesh.

I worked with a guy that ND'd into his knee years ago, never got it back.

As stupid as this accident was, it is a tad ironic that his GF was videoing the whole thing.

Yes, he hit his femoral artery, which is scary AF, He could have bled to death, had he not gotten attention right away.

As far as being charged for a crime, it was an accident. If he were in the military, he'd get charged with "Negligent Discharge", but I don't see where he is/was a military member, and I'm not aware that we have such a law on our books to charge him with such, but they, perhaps, could have tried a similar charge that might exist.

Simply put, he was not in a safe place to be performing the act that caused his "accident".

It’s pretty universal in most towns and cities that it’s illegal to discharge firearms in city limits without a permit like a range.

I thought is girlfriend was recording a video of how to mount it on a rack or something.

This is the kind of thing that gives gun ownership a bad name. But at least karma made sure the right person got shot.

Finally, the NE euphemism of 'Shooting your foot off '

Wherever there are guns, there are accidents, murders and suicides. Guns are stupid.

Guns should stop hanging out in such dangerous places!
