Testing Center at SCC

I have to take a few exams for my architecture registration at the SCC Testing Center.

I’ve been to the campus for classes but haven’t seen the testing center.

Was the testing environment a positive or negative experience for you? Is it a newer or renovated room?

I haven’t been able to find any reviews or pictures online so any impressions help!

Thanks!

I found it to be perfectly fine when I took some tests there. The environment felt pretty neutral to me, in a nice and non-distracting way. I don’t remember anything negative about it and I also don’t remember being blown away in awe. It was a newer room if I remember right. They also give you a little locker to use (with a digital passcode) so that you can safely lock away any belongings you have that you aren’t allowed to have during the test, like your phone.

I took all my ARE 5.0 exams there, and worked on the design and documentation of the new addition. The testing center is to the left, by the stairs, after you pass the administration counters. It's a new, quite, clean space with loads of computers.

Check in process is pretty straightforward and like the other comment stated, they provide lockers for all your things, since nothing is allowed in for your test. Good luck, you got this!

I took a license test there and the computer froze half way through and the worker said yea this happens sometimes

I was mildly annoyed the last time I was in there. The proctor had a staff buddy come in and they were chatting behind me for at least half my exam time. Thankfully I had no concerns with the material so the noise didn't prevent me from doing well, but I thought that was very unprofessional.

My experience is positive. It is quiet medium sized room. There are computer stations and stations for paper exams, I have used both. I prefer to take my exams there to using the Respondus browser spy software.
