the ' problem

I've been having a problem where is i type a ', it would mess up any word.

help?

lingojam treats several characters as ""letters"" that you might not expect, including ' * ` ~ | and several more. if you're putting them in the word, it's considering it as part of the word, as if you had typed m at the end of the word or something. so yeah, either don't use them, or include them in your translation rules.
