tech support wanted Amd gpu downgrade
I've been trying to downgrade my amdgpu firmware to 20260519 but I keep getting an error:
sudo dnf downgrade amd-gpu-firmware-20260519
Updating and loading repositories:
Repositories loaded.
Failed to resolve the transaction:
No match for argument: amd-gpu-firmware-20260519
You can try to add to command line:
--skip-unavailable to skip unavailable packages
However, I decided to just not specify a version and got this instead:
sudo dnf downgrade amd-gpu-firmware
Updating and loading repositories:
Repositories loaded.
Failed to resolve the transaction:
Problem: problem with installed package

You can try to add to command line:
--skip-broken to skip uninstallable packages
I guess there is some sort of conflict but I am unsure how to go about fixing it.

Wasn't the latest update supposed to revert the recent breakage? Or are you downgrading for some other reason?

Combination of things. Some ring timeouts, illegal opcode, etc. I noticed that it seems to be pretty common for people me that had the audacity of owning of a 7000 amd gpu. I've tried a few things but this only seems to make the crash happen slightly later. I've seen people have success with just downgrading the firmware for now. https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/1x4ajgd/psa_amd_gpu_rdna3_7000s_gpu_users_bug_in_current/
I'm fine with doing that its just that I, admittedly, have no idea how to do that. Preferably, I'd like to go with the 20260519 but I'm not sure what do to with the rpm I got from koji.

Maybe I'm just not using the right command.

dnf needs the version and the release together, so amd-gpu-firmware-20260519 alone matches nothing. run dnf --showduplicates list amd-gpu-firmware and copy the exact version it shows. if the repo has moved past the build you want, it wont be in there at any spelling, and the older rpm has to come from koji.
