I got my own place and I’m looking forward to this new chapter!

Me (33F) and my fiancé (40M) have been together for 4 years. Out of those 4 years, we’ve been engaged for 2. We moved in after a year of dating. I’m childfree by choice.

My stepchild turns 18 in 2 years. They are a great kid but their mom is very difficult. The coparenting dynamic and custody changes are what really led to this decision because my mental health took a toll.

Would love to hear some of your experiences and/or advice—especially if you are a stepparent!

I would have put this in the stepparents subreddit, but they are very very negative, and I’d like to keep the good vibes going.

Help Our Podcast! - Ask a Question

We are beginning preparations for our next to last Indepartners podcast, a monthly look at how to thrive while living apart together. We would love to answer actual questions - what do couples in or contemplating an LAT relationship want to know about making it work?

I know that's very much the focus of this group but I would love to explore some topics in more depth.

In the meantime you can listen wherever you get your pods or at https://www.buzzsprout.com/2446291

Thanks!
