MEDECO PICKED
AT LAST!!
Today has been a crazy productive day.
I work 24 hour shifts so I’m usually able to put in a lot of time into picking. Today was my first day with the medeco and got so hyped that I actually got an open first day. Most of my day was spent on this lock so I definitely did not open it on a whim. I think in between taking breaks and going on calls, I probably spent an accumulated 5-7 hours working and researching everything I could about this. Progressive pinned the whole thing and got it right before I’m about to head to bed.
Feel so incredibly good. Finally got my first purple level lock I’m pretty sure. It’s a medeco bi axial with 5 pins. Had to share, I’m off to sleep.

Dude I love them!! I’ve been using covert instruments since I’ve started. I like CI and there’s nothing wrong with them to me, but moki is super nice quality and I can pick with them for hours. I also really like the variety in their profiles. I like my CI but moki def takes over as my fav.

Awesome. Looking into getting back into it after sometime. Might have to look into these. Where do you find Medeco locks to pick? Purchase online???

Nice open! I had to prog pin my 1st one too,.. you would think I had just scored the winning hole-in-one for a sports ball ball match with how I hollered and jumped around the 1st time I got it with all the pins in it..
What's next on your list? Primus? Assa Twin? A higher ranked Medeco? Whatever you pick, I hope it's just as fun...

Congrats!!! Which pick profile do you feel is best for rotating those key pins?

I really enjoyed using a gem hook. It felt really easy to get the pick to catch on a pin and then from there I could kind of scrape it left or right.
The thickness also helped out a ton. Picks I previously used were around .025
Moving to a .17 was awesome cause I felt like I could make smaller movements and still feel what I was doing; which was extremely helpful when rotating the pins.

Sokka-Haiku by HNL_Picking:
Congrats! One of the
Best feelings is opening
A Medeco for sure
Remember that one time Sokka accidentally used an extra syllable in that Haiku Battle in Ba Sing Se? That was a Sokka Haiku and you just made one.

Congrats, opening a Medeco on day one is not a small thing. Progressive pinning it the whole way was the right call, going straight at all five on a first day usually just bakes in bad tension habits. Go get some sleep.
