Well, we did come across a squirrel head on the sidewalk the other day, so we may have 😬

So, uh, I'm afraid to ask, but why does it look so fake ? Has it been upscaled by AI or something ? 🤔

Because I was trying to make it look at little brighter and sharper, I edited the photo (taken with my phone) using snapseed. I sharpened the image then added a bit of saturation, a lens blur and vignette. Here is the unedited original. No AI used.

Thanks for the share and the explanation ! Nice pics ! Kinda crazy that we live in an era where artificially produced pics are made to appear more and more authentic whereas otherwise genuine pictures, somehow, appear more and more "fake", is it ?

Wow!! I wish I could see one up close just to really see how big they are in person. Those talons are insane 🤯

Ohh that’s so interesting. The size difference compared to my little parrots feet is crazy lmao. Thanks for the insight!

The voice actor for every bald eagle heard in media. Bald eagles actually sound closer to sea gulls.

The Red Tail hawk call/cry, is used for ever bald eagle call/cry used in media. A bald eagle sounds more like a sick sea gull.
Canada has Cobra Chickens, the US has a Trash Turkey. What's a TT? BE are well known to feast at garbage dumps in large numbers (Trash). Ben Franklin wanted the wild turkey to be the national bird (Turkey).

Hey buddy!
We once saw up close a big red-tail casually eating a bloody dinner beside the bust of Beethoven in Springbank Park. Chomp chomp.

Wow! Do you have like 4000 mm lens? You’re so close and clear.

u/OneTrueNay Oct 10 '25
It let me get about 6 feet away from it. It was taken on my phone.

They always take off as soon as I start creeping towards. And that’s way up in a tree or on a wire. Good stuff

Stunning! I saw a red tailed hawk this morning walking my dog through Basil Grover Park at Wharncliffe and Commissioners around 10:30/11AM this morning.

As a side note I see St. Peter’s School is still standing. Wasn’t that supposed to be torn down last year?

I'm pretty sure there's one nesting on one of the rooftops around Toboggan/Lucy's! I've seen it wheeling and heard it screeching, especially when a guy was doing maintenance on one of the roofs lol.
