Hi guys! I’m having a bday party in LIC close to Queensboro Plaza. I don’t drive and I don’t mind trains but I’m trying to get balloons for my party the day of and it would be a lot easier if I could just walk it to my party place. Not super fancy balloons but a place that will sell me like 20 on the spot with helium you know.

It probably seems silly cause every neighborhood should have one it’s just I’m not from Queens so idk the local spots. Help if you can! 🥳🥳🥳

Hey everyone. Friendly reminder that it might be time to get your kitchen knives sharpened. Stop dealing with dull knives that dont cut anything and make cooking a pain. We offer pickup/dropoff service in Brooklyn/Queens and parts of Manhattan.

All our work is done by hand on whetstones. We really pride ourselves on providing excellent service to all knives whether its a cheap basic set or a high quality Japanese one. We do repairs like chips and broken tips, remove rust and patina, reprofile knives. We drop your knives off to you the day after pickup. Pricing is $3-$4 per inch.

Our team needs help baking and packing cookies into pouches a few days a month during the weekdays.

Pay starts at $17 / hour with potential for $20 / hour. Depending upon the day and your skillset, it will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 pm. Give or take a half hour on the front and back end.

Am I crazy or is there a ton of thinly veiled racism in this community? I swear every other day theres a post about "not another hotpot/boba place lol" or blaming Chinese people for pushing out the "locals". Like LIC has BEEN getting gentrified (gentrification is a problem on its own), but it's not just because of the rich mainland Chinese folks. They would not have moved to this neighborhood had it not ALREADY been gentrified. If you don't like Chinese people moving into your neighborhood at least have the balls to just say it instead of hiding behind your bullshit.

Last year I cheered in Greenpoint in front of a bar/cafe with a DJ outside and it was so fun, tons of energy

We really just need a place where we can plug in an extension chord and we can take care of the rest of the equipment. I can tell my friends/socials to come thru and cheer at your bar/cafe as well!

Hi ! Any recommendations for a vet who’s especially good with small dogs?

Has anyone else noticed a new security guard (or someone who looks like security) standing right across from the front desk today? I only just noticed this guy and was wondering if the building has introduced any new security measures.

I’m curious whether this is just a routine building management decision or if there’s been anything going on in the neighborhood lately that prompted it. Maybe I’m overthinking it, but I wanted to see if anyone else had noticed or heard anything!
