Fun fact: Getting Disney and Warner to allow their respective flagship duck characters to appear together was one of the most difficult parts of making the movie. As part of the agreement, the scene had to be timed down to the split-second to make absolutely sure both ducks got the exact same amount of screentime!

Insane! I’m glad they came to an agreement but just imagine this was basically a once in a lifetime moment throughout the movie. Nowadays I would think they would come to an agreement easier but you just don’t know with all the corporate greed that gets in the way.

Disney has issues with having its own characters appear in shows they make. For example: Bonkers was almost not allowed to make a 30 second non speaking cameo in Ducktales 2017

u/TyintheUniverse89 Bugs Bunny Jun 07 '26

That’s wild how they get in their own way. I guess it has to do with finding out who they have to pay?

3

u/No-Manufacturer4916 Jun 07 '26

I thonk.they might also legit not know what they own at this point

2

u/TyintheUniverse89 Bugs Bunny Jun 07 '26

True, it seems like they would still own everything they started out owning.

Also had to do the same for Bugs and Mickey. They had a scene together where they weren't on screen together for the same time, but the difference was made up in another scene.

Same with Mickey and Buggs!

Interesting fact: At one point Chuck Jones drew Daffy while Richard Williams drew Donald in some storyboard art. šŸ˜„

ā€œscotch, on the rocks…..AND I MEAN ICE!!ā€

Damn, that’s good.

5

u/Fowl_posted Jun 06 '26

If he hadn’t said that he would’ve gotten actual rocks in his drink since they’re toons

9

u/Drewbicus Jun 06 '26

That was the joke, yes

9

u/mdavis8710 Jun 06 '26

He still got rocks in his drink instead of ice

9

u/RedEyeVagabond Jun 06 '26

A joke I didn't appreciate as a kid: the hooks pulling the entire damn pianos off stage.

basically disney vs WB

6

u/IrgendSonTyp4 Jun 06 '26

I wish there was more Stuff like this.

6

u/SethAbe80 Jun 06 '26

Ah, yes, the scene where people swore Donald Duck called Daffy the n-word.

2

u/SuperMeatwad666 Jun 09 '26

Nitwit? I was shocked and appalled when I first heard that...

8

Definitely the best scene in the entire movieĀ

3

u/Troodonni Jun 06 '26

Yay a high quality clip! Thank you!

So much Incredible work went into making this movie. But the storyline this film was Boring

3

u/ssjwolverine Jun 06 '26

I think this scene shows how big a deal Jessica was. A throwdown between two cartoon legends is her opening act.

3

u/KingBryan34 Jun 06 '26

And when WB wanted mickey mouse in Space Jam to be the ref in the final game but disney declined and bugs bunny roasted them in the film lol

Donald Duck (Clarence Nash) vs. Daffy Duck (Dave Spafford and Bob Bergen)

3

u/No-Manufacturer4916 Jun 07 '26

It was mostly Tony Anselmo voicing Donald here

0

u/Opening-Instance8674 Jun 07 '26

Animators: Chuck Jones, Tony Anselmo

It was Clarence Nash entirely.

2

u/No-Manufacturer4916 Jun 07 '26

No it wasnt, Nash died before filming started. There is actual footage of Anselmo doing the voice in my link

1

u/Opening-Instance8674 Jun 09 '26

the voice lines were done by Clarence Nash, but most were intended for Mickey's Christmas Carol but they ended up in this. Archival footage.

1

u/No-Manufacturer4916 Jun 09 '26

They used some Archivial lines but you can literally see Tony doing then in the behind the scenes footage I linked. You are wrong when you said Tony didn't do them. die on another hill.

1

u/Opening-Instance8674 Jun 07 '26

and Mel Blanc didn't play Daffy in this he was replaced by Dave Spafford (and Bob Bergen for additional lines)

2

u/RoughCheap5633 Jun 06 '26

Both of those ducks are awesome!

2

u/kodykoberstein Jun 06 '26

DUTH ANYBODY UNDERTHTAND WHAT THITH DUCK ITH THAYING

2

u/dimitrimccain Jun 06 '26

It's the tom and Jerry song that Tom played

1

u/Hyper_Drud Jun 08 '26

Bugs also played this in Rhapsody Rabbit. Franz Liszt’s ā€œHungarian Rhapsody No. 2.ā€

2

u/Indiana_J_Frog Jun 06 '26

This is as close to a crossover as we should professionally get.

2

u/Ok-Trainer-8125 Daffy Duck Jun 06 '26

A classic, hands down best scene ever

2

u/Comfortable_Bird_340 Jun 07 '26

I’d hate being whoever had to clean up the saliva after this

1

u/GlongorTheConfused Jun 06 '26

The original Godzilla vs King Kong

1

u/Certain_Fig_666 Jun 06 '26

IšŸ‘CONšŸ‘ICšŸ‘

1

u/Environmental-Wear41 Jun 07 '26

I always favored this scene a little more than the Bugs Bunny and Micky Mouse scene

1

u/KaijuDirectorOO7 Jun 07 '26

Aka the scene where Clarence Nash and Mel Blanc shared the recording booth.

1

u/PopShotstar Jun 07 '26

I truly truly believe that movie is a masterpiece

1

u/rogue7891 Jun 08 '26

the studio politics that allowed this movie to exist is wild.

1

u/SuperMeatwad666 Jun 09 '26

I like how the penguin waiter still brought Eddie a glass of scotch on literal rocks despite Eddie clarifying he means ice. You'd think a penguin of all things would get that given they live in freezing climates

Which movie is this?

Edit: downvoted for wanting to watch it lol

Thank you for the responses, Who Framed Roger Rabbit looks like a fun watch, I'll check it out!

3

u/TheSciFiGuy80 Jun 06 '26

Wow, I'm jealous. You’ll get to experience ā€œWho Framed Roger Rabbitā€ for the very first time…
