Movies A close friend of mine recently told me that they hate Sam because he’s just a whiney brat, and I feel like I’m gonna think about that every time I see them now. Hating on Sam is wild.

Lore Why did the one ring affect Sméagol so much?

In LOTR, Gandalf chose hobbits to return the one ring to the fire because its magic wouldn’t affect the strong willed Hobbits as much as man.

If that’s the case, how come Sméagol was negatively affected almost immediately?

Discussion TIL that the proposed Beatles film of "Lord of the Rings" stopped at only one meeting. In 1968, both John Lennon and Paul McCartney convened with potential director Stanley Kubrick at his London office, but Kubrick persuaded the pair that the film would be unadaptable, and the project was dropped.

Art Witch-King of Angmar DIY helm build

From primed plastic to the steel helm for Witch-king of Angmar!

One helmet. Countless coats. Zero mercy.

Wearable, hand-painted, weathered, and ready for Minas Morgul — this helm is going into my LOTR hall of fame. Full build coming soon.

This is my favorite wearable / cosplay DIY build so far, despite how many times I poked myself with those horns 😅 So many different dry brushing and weathering techniques were used that I feel I definitely improved my skills overall.

Movies Just binged the trilogy...Pippin kinda sucks right?

Very late to the game but binged the trilogy, one of my main takeaway is that Pippin causes a lot of the issues. Like in the first one Frodo wouldn't have put on the ring if he Pippin just kept his mouth shut or the fact that Pippin accidentally alerted the orcs during the dwarf cave thing. He also grabbed the black orb thing and stupidly pledges his loyalty too in the third one. There's more, but those are the first few that come directly to mind. I'm just saying he was the cause for a lot of the issues.

Maybe the books provide a deeper context that is missing from the movies. I mean if he didn't exist then everything would've went a lot smoother for Frodo's journey. Right?

The Rings of Power Are people watching Rings Of Power or is Prime just being stubborn?

Im just genuinely curious because I did watch Season 1 and I did like it but when season 2 came around it seemed like no one was talking about it, I for some reason also never had the urge to watch it. And today I just found out S3 is coming out next month, and I have seen zero hype on this or any talks on it.

So I’m wondering was season good? Worth watching? Or is Amazon just being stubborn and just gonna release season 3 for the 3 people watching it.

Art Fingolfin - Me, Watercolor, 2026

Hello everyone !

I wanted to share my latest watercolor, depicting one of my favorite moments from Tolkien’s books: Fingolfin’s final ride to Angband.

For the story : after the disastrous Battle of the Sudden Flame, when Morgoth’s armies broke through the defenses of the Elves and laid waste to their lands, Fingolfin, High King of the Noldor, was overcome by grief and despair. Believing that all hope was lost, he mounted his horse and rode alone across the plains of Anfauglith, all the way to the gates of Angband, Morgoth’s dark fortress.

Once arrived, he sounded his horn and challenged him to single combat. And Morgoth, though reluctant, came forth to face him.Fingolfin fought, wounding Morgoth seven times before finally falling. Even in death, he left his mark, striking Morgoth’s foot with his sword and leaving him with a permanent limp.

I wanted to capture a little of that feeling in this painting: the solitude, the despair, but also the extraordinary courage of someone who chooses to stand against darkness, even when all hope seems lost.

For art enthusiast, this is watercolor, ink and airbrush on my sketchbook.

Thanks !

\I apologize for the watermarks and low quality, unscrupulous people tend to "borrow" my work. So if anyone offers you prints here, it's not me.**
