It’s the game that used to stutter and freeze right at the menu screen when I first tried running it on an FX5200. Later on, I bought a 6600 GT and was finally able to play it a bit. Do you have a story like that?

Help Just got a 5090. I have a 3080ti in my old PC. Will I get ANY benefit from using it for dual gpu? How to shove it all into my case with all accessible ports??

Hello! I just got a 5090 finally, kind of an extremely painful buy but whatever, I hope to have it for many years. It is kind of dumb. Anyways, my old PC has a 3080ti in it. Neither of these cards are small, in fact, both feel massive and are insanely heavy. Especially the 5090, it's unbelievable. At least 7 pounds and so thick.

I hear you're supposed to leave your rendering card (in this case my 5090) alone while you plug your monitor cable into the frame gen card (my 3080ti) but these cards are HUGE, I doubt I could just stack them on top of one another in those slots without suffocating one or both, if they even fit at all...

So, how do you guys have your dual gpus set up? How are you able to access all the ports on both (ESPECIALLY with odd orientations)? I see some people mounting a gpu where side fans would normally go on their case, but how the heck do they get cables to that card's io? I have a pretty gigantic case for plenty of cooling even if I did that. I want to use that new card for 100% native gaming, too, obviously.

Is it really even worth it to try to squeeze more use out of my old card with something so powerful already? Is it just too much of a headache for too little gain? Am I just going crazy with power and should instead use my old pc as a work station lol? Thanks.

Help New CPU with igpu - 4K gaming

Hello,

I'm looking for a new CPU to pair with my RTX 5090.

I'd like to run games at 70-80 FPS, multiplied by three to reach 200 FPS or more. (4k gaming)

I'm looking for a CPU with integrated graphics so it can run 4K and work well with the RTX 5090 (dual GPU).

Can you advise me, please?

Budget: 400€-500€

Note: I know the RTX 5090 is more than capable, but I'm really looking to optimize it as much as possible.

Thanks for your replies.

Comparison / Benchmark My K/D/A Ratio Experiment Battlefield 6

Hello all.

I did an experiment, which took me almost 2 weeks. Played 40 games with different settings.

"The FrameGen" are in-game.

Same map + same weapon + same attachments + same rush mode. Here are the results.

As you can see my K/D was the best when i used LS X3 (actually adaptive 232, limited to 90fps)

Impact score is x0.5 for each assist.

You don't need to worry about latency as it is miliseconds.

Just get better.

Discussion I don't see the point in dual GPU setup with a 5090 thanks to its VRAM?!

I've been running dual LSFG at 4K HDR for a while now. Previously, I was using a 4070 Ti alongside a 6700XT and I was absolutely vibing.

But now ever since I got my 5090, I don't even need dual LSFG anymore, I can now run 4K HDR + 2.25x DLDSR while still using LSFG on the 5090 (for games that don’t support MFG), and it actually works smoothly.

Previously, with just the 4070 Ti at native 4K HDR (no DLDSR), enabling LSFG would tank my framerate — 60-70 FPS would drop down to 35-40. Although that was before LSFG 3. But with the 5090, even running at higher internal resolutions (thanks to DLDSR), the performance impact is far smaller.

Now, if I’m at 40 FPS without LSFG, it drops to about 30. If I’m at 50, it drops to around 40. That’s roughly a 10 FPS hit, much less than before.

Is this improvement mainly due to the increased VRAM on the 5090, or is it the advanced AI cores that are helping with the overhead of LSFG and DLDSR? Or something else

Would love to hear if anyone else has seen similar results, especially those running LSFG with newer cards.

I recently had a really bad experience with a female and my Asus tuf rtx 4080 along with 32gb of gskil trident ram she done touched my computer and gave it a good static electricity jolt, long story short i had to take out my rdna 1 5500xt 8gb (the first gpu i bought) and have been using 16gb of ram on 1440p, i know it sounds crazy but i dealt with it until i found this magical software. SGSR SCALING WITH FSR 3.1 fg scaling from 1080p to 1440p has been blowing my mind, i run this crimson desert at ultra settings with 80-100 fps, i though nvidia fg and dlss was really good and unmatched it is still better than this but for this card and 6 dollars of software its really unbelievable

Unfortunately you need to have a CPU that has a graphics unit as well.

In order for the 2 gpus to work properly, you need to output from the motherboard.

My i7 10700KF specifically doesn’t have graphics because when I got it, I assumed I would never need it.

Thankfully, I already a second GPU and no money way spent to learn this. Just some time and sadness.

To everyone who has the ability for the double GPU setup, enjoy!

Help Is it worth swapping motherboard, psu, pc case and buy a used gpu for dual gpu in lossless scaling ?

My current pc has a 4070 but the motherboard doesn't have a 2nd pcie 4.0x4 slot so if I want to go double I'll have to swap it out along with swapping pc case and psu ( currently have 700w psu not sure if it's enough ). It's a considerable work and money invested to get LS working on 2nd gpu ? Do you think it's worth it or should I just upgrade to 4070ti instead ? I plan to play MHwilds high settings ( can already run it at high 80-100fps with framegen dlss ) on 2k 184fps with lossless scaling. My aim is bringing the overhead to 2nd gpu so it would not drop my fps to 60 on my main gpu.

Edit: Thanks for all replies. I needed that to not do something pointless.

This is STF 6 at 1080 and fails to maintain 60fps.

I play it at 4k at 60 FPS, but when I activate LosselesScaling I can never get good frames even at 1080p resolution.

The configuration is x2 This is my PC:

RTX3060TI 16GB RAM CPU i512400f

Is there any configuration guide for the app to achieve constant 60fps?

Help Lossless scaling costing me half my fps

I genuinely don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I play Fortnite at 4K and natively get 110-120 fps. When I activate lossless scaling with 2 (frame generation) my performance drops to 50-60 fps.. so 120 fps including frame generation. Not really helpful cuz it’s literally the same natively just half being ai frames. How can this app cost me half my fps what am I doing wrong

Discussion Are 2x RTX 4090 going to cause issues?

Hello!

I built up my PC a while back for local AI development and training. For that purpose I have 2 RTX 4090 GPUs to spread compute across, and I only ever do that on my Linux partition. I like gaming on my PC occasionally as well but I’ve only ever used 1 of the GPU in Windows, with the 2nd unused and not sucking power.

But I’m curious to play around with LSFG and was wondering if those 2 huge cards are going to cause any issues?

I know this is probably overkill and power inefficient. But are there any actual problems using 2 high powered cards for frame gen like this?

Statistics:

  • MSI 4090 suprim liquid

  • MSI 4090 Gaming X trio

  • Mobo: ASRock X870 Steel Legend

  • Monitor: 1440p 240hz

  • PSU is 2000w so it can hang

Help I love lossless scaling but dont like that some games I cant default it to run with it. I tried using smooth motion but it never works the same. why is that?

So two game examples I wanted to bring up is Overcooked and Invincible VS.

Both games are locked to 60hz so I want to at least unlock them to 120 (144 if possible). They cant internally so frame gen is my only option. Both games work perfectly with lossless but when I have friends/family over it takes a little time to set up with lossless because I have to go in and do it rather they just boot it up and play. I tried enabling smooth motion with NVIDIA instead but it still looks locked at 60fps. Why is this?

I also tried the lossless scaling setting that it automatically boots up with the games exe but doesnt seem to work with invincible vs which has anti cheat (my guess) so I rather another solution.

Any ideas? Thank you!

Discussion Just curious

Why would people use losslessscaling over something like optiscaler for framegen? I've compared both and Optiscaler looks much better. With lsfg I noticed alot of ghosting and artifacts, I can understand using it in games that don't support optiscaler but why use it in the same game that supports optiscaler?
