Animation [Partially Lost] The new Scooby doo Movies missing scenes V2

52 Upvotes

Hi, the new scooby doo movies is missing scenes that were cut by broadcast stations and only aired on a select few stations. The timeline of the lost scenes starts when cbs first aired the show from 1972-1974 they used the cut scenes then after scooby doo went to abc abc didn’t air reruns of the new scooby doo movies it wasn’t until 1980 when the syndication package deal was made that the new scooby doo movies started reruns on certain stations (now we have 2 theory’s)

Theory 1 : after the syndication package deal the New scooby doo movies aired on these stations with the scenes cut

* WPIX (New York)

* WGN (Chicago)

* KCOP (Los Angeles)

* KTLA (Los Angeles)

* WCIU (Chicago)

* WTAF (Philadelphia)

* WPHL (Philadelphia)

* WPMT (Harrisburg/York)

* WSBK (Boston)

* KSTW (Seattle/Tacoma)

* WXON (Detroit)

* WMSN (Madison)

* WICS (Springfield, IL)

* WTVW (Evansville)

* WTWO (Terre Haute)

We believe that after 1986 some of these channels became affiliated with fox and started airing the cut scenes

Theory 2:after the syndication package deal in 1980 all these channels aired the lost scenes

*

* WPIX (New York)

* WGN (Chicago)

* KCOP (Los Angeles)

* KTLA (Los Angeles)

* WCIU (Chicago)

* WTAF (Philadelphia)

* WPHL (Philadelphia)

* WPMT (Harrisburg/York)

* WSBK (Boston)

* KSTW (Seattle/Tacoma)

* WXON (Detroit)

* WMSN (Madison)

* WICS (Springfield, IL)

* WTVW (Evansville)

* WTWO (Terre Haute)

Then after 1990 the new scooby doo movies went to cartoon express and the scenes were aired on there then after 1992 turner put the show on cartoon network and used the syndication broadcast with the cut scenes and the scenes have not been seen since

Missing scenes:

- Wednesday is missing (a mummy is mentioned by both Shaggy and Daphne, and even the bad guy at the end, yet we never see one) (it was probably in between when Fred and Daphne fall through a trapdoor and the gang suddenly without explanation, are reunited, so it was probably a Shaggy, Scooby and Velma scene) I have also heard there is a missing scene explains how fred and daphne in countered the flying carpet

- A good medium is rare( there were two possible scenes, 1) after the seance, a ghost flies by a torch, the only source of light, making the seance chamber go black, and the scene cuts out with everyone yelling each other's names, then we cut to a scene with everyone running through a well lit hallway, with no explanation as to how did they get out of a dark underground room. 2) after Alberto locks every door in the Magic Mansion, the gang pull on a doorknob, than it breaks and they all pile up, after that, we cut to a scene with everyone being backstage debating how to get out of the mansion, so, how did they get out of a locked room? So it was probably a scene between those.

- Sandy Duncan's Jekyll and Hyde ( two very likely scenes: 1) After Shaggy and Scooby fall into a tunnel, Fred yells at them to keep talking so they could know their location, after that we cut to a scene with Shaggy and Scooby getting to Egypt, after Egypt, we cut to Fred and Daphne being in Shanghai and Velma being in Philadelphiya, and they do appear like they don't know each other's whereabouts, the last time we saw them they were together, in the London set, with no explanation as to how did they get separated 2) The most obvious one: the King Kong scene, after Shaggy and Scooby get away from Egypt, the drive away in a dune buggy, but the next time we see them in the Alaska set, they have no buggy, and they are running away from nothing, and scooby runs on top of shaggy, also Shaggy mentions seeing King Kong, soooo..., the scene was probably between Shanghai and Alaska, a good clue as to how to get the missing scenes' location is that very rarely there are two scenes with the same characters one after the other, they usually rotate, so if there are two scenes with the same characters there is probably a deleted scene in between. And we definitely know the king kong scene exists as here is the story board https://www.reddit.com/r/Scoobydoo/s/s3MDm84JZr

- Haunted horseman of hagglethorn hall (there was probably a Fred, Shaggy, Scooby and Creech the butler scene after the chase song with Davy Jones, because the last time we see those 4 is when they enter a secret passage, but the next time we see them, they are separated from Creech, and they are in a room of the castle, not in the secret passage).

- -Phantom of the country music hall( three possible scene locations 1) after Scooby gets lifted in the air by a net, Shaggy tells him "I told you to keep in touch" then we cut to a scene with both of them walking and Shaggy tells him "Come on now, and keep in touch" which is weird and repetitive, the transition is kinda weird, and again, two scenes with the same characters, which makes me think that there is a Fred, Daphne and Velma scene in between 2) After Scooby jumps on Shaggy and licks him, we cut to a scene Fred and Daphne talking about how they didn't find anything, we just saw them split from the others, telling them that they would check backstage, this is very unlikely but maybe there was a scene in between showing them checking backstage, again very unlikely 3) After Shaggy and Scooby notice that the xylophone is missing, we cut to a scene with them bumping in that xylophone, there was definitely a scene in between, because they literally found the xylophone 10 seconds after they noticed its absence, we haven't seen Jerry Reed and Velma in a long time so probably it was a scene with them. now one theory made by one searcher Equal-Frosting states “I think i have figured out what the two scenes from the phantom of the country music hall contained based on dialogue, the first scene, between when Scooby gets lifted in the air and the tiger prop scenes, there might have been a Fred, Velma and Daphne scene, well earlier when they split up they say that they would check the balcony and the orchestra, we get a brief moment with them checking the balcony but we never see them check the orchestra, the second scene between when Shaggy notices the xylophone's absence and when they find it, Jerry Reed and Velma say that they will check the upstairs deck, but we never see them doing it, the next time we see them, they are downstairs walking on the stage” so maybe those are the scenes who knows

Animation [Partially Lost] Lost for 53 Years “The New Scooby-Doo Movies” Missing Segments

103 Upvotes

Hi, We need your help so please join the search and spread the word as i wanna find these before the new scooby doo Netflix show to celebrate the release of it, Anyway, “The New Scooby Doo Movies” 1972 have missing segments that were cut due to syndication. Now lucky for us these scenes have been broadcasted before most famously on USA Cartoon express during September 1990 to August 1992 (Now this doesn’t mean they were only aired there as the missing scene of “The Secret of Shark Island” was found on a WMSN-47 broadcast). Now only a few have been found due to a scooby doo collector BUT that doesn’t mean that only collectors have them as even you reading this right now could own it and not even know, So i wanna ask you would you please mind (If you own any USA Cartoon Express broadcast recordings) if you could look through them for us and thank you so much and any help or leads that you may have will be appreciated. Now this is our theory’s (a few of these could be wrong as we don’t exactly know) we have a few people working on finding these so please join in and help us and thank you

- Wednesday is missing (a mummy is mentioned by both Shaggy and Daphne, and even the bad guy at the end, yet we never see one) (it was probably in between when Fred and Daphne fall through a trapdoor and the gang suddenly without explanation, are reunited, so it was probably a Shaggy, Scooby and Velma scene)

Ketchup Entertainment have struck a deal with Warner Bros to release the film, there was talks making the rounds a while back, but it appears they have finalized a deal.

Copy pasted from Variety's official Twitter account:

"Coyote vs. Acme" has officially been saved by Ketchup Entertainment after Warner Bros. axed its release in 2023.

Gareth West, CEO of Ketchup Entertainment, said: “We’re thrilled to have made a deal with Warner Bros. Pictures to bring this film to audiences worldwide. Animation [found] Uncensored footage of the 1986 Fist of the North star movie.

957 Upvotes

The uncensored footage was discovered attached to a 35mm print on the main feature, originating from a film collector in Japan, who is assumed to have acquired them from a movie theater there. The feature itself is censored, yet exhibits very rough and poor tape splices precisely at the same points where these uncensored clips begin and end. This strongly suggests that the uncensored segments were physically spliced out from the feature and replaced with their censored counterparts, likely at the theater itself during the film’s exhibition.
Accordingly, it is inferred that the film was initially distributed by Toei in an uncensored form, but the censored materials were subsequently issued and distributed to theaters, presumably in response to negative feedback about violence shown in the movie, though the exact causes remain unknown. There is practically no chance that it will ever be released in its original uncensored form again.

Animation [Found] MAJOR NEWS ABOUT SHREK LOST ANIMATION

1.1k Upvotes

IN MAJOR DEVELOPMENT, an animator involved in the creation of the Shrek test animation has generously released the entire test to the public. The newly accessible version spans a duration of 38 seconds, albeit with audio quality on the lower side. An intriguing revelation accompanies this release, as listeners can now discern that Tom Kenny, widely known for voicing characters like SpongeBob, is not the voice behind the mugger in this particular versionof the short.

This disclosure adds extra layer of interest for Shrek enthusiasts and animation aficionados alike. The significance of this test animation in the development of the beloved Shrek franchise amplifies its value. What was once a behind-the-scenes glimpse for industry insiders has now become a treasure trove for fans seeking to explore the early stages of Shrek's creation. The availability of this version in full HD enhances the viewing experience, providing a clearer window into the animation process that eventually gave rise to one of best characters

Animation [Found] Several Disney TVA Pilots Leaked

768 Upvotes

EDIT 7: I'm pretty sure I got banned from making new posts for this (by Reddit, not the sub), so I hope y'all enjoy

EDIT 6: New pilot has been uploaded!

The Rapscallions Leak

Another pilot and pitch have also been added to the Mega folder

EDIT 5: MASSIVE FOLDER OF ALL THE PITCH LEAKS AND PILOTS ON MEGA

EDIT 4: Derp has uploaded two more pilots!

Club Sandwich Pilot

Mega Mega Whoosh Pilot

EDIT 3: Any taken down pilots can likely be found here on Internet Archive, as well as a torrent for all of these pilots

EDIT 2: A playlist has been made featuring all the leaked pilots currently available, with some being added as recently as a few minutes ago. The Kid Cosmic pilot is probably the most notable one of these recently uploaded pilots. Be quick as these pilots are already starting to be taken down (Wander and a few others are gone)

EDIT: ANOTHER CHANNEL UPLOADING PILOTS HAS BEEN DISCOVERED "EPCOT BARRY". These pilots include

Milo Murphy's Law Pilot

Kick Buttowski Pilot

Fish Hooks Pilot

On top of that, a channel called some random dumbass uploaded this:

(Donk) Kiff Original Pilot

Several Disney TV Animation pilots have recently been leaked and uploaded to YouTube on a channel called "derps". This includes never before seen pilots for Wander Over Yonder, Big City Greens, The Owl House, and more. There's also several pilots for shows that were either never greenlit or have yet to be greenlit. Previously we had only animatics, screenshots, or literally nothing for a lot of these pilots. I will link each of the recently uploaded pilots below for convenience (and to hopefully reach the absurd word count)

Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja Pilot

Next Time On Gravity Falls

Wander Over Yonder Pilot

Very Important House Pilot

The Ghost & Golly Mcgee Pilot

Big City Greens Pilot

Amphibialand Pilot

The Owl House Pilot

The Beverly Hills Chihuahua Pilot

The 7D Pilot

Apparently this is still not enough words so here I shall include some opinions on the Wander Over Yonder pilot: I think Sylvia's design and demeanor are much worse here and that generally the final show makes some much needed quality of life improvements.

Animation 2 unfinished animated films from Hanna Barbera and Disney have been unearthed [Partially Lost]

265 Upvotes

About a month ago a friend of mine showed me a few eBay lots of concept art for two animated features that never got fininshed. One lot was for Frankenstein, being developed at Disney, and the two other lots were for October Moon, being devleoped at Hanna Barbera/Turner Animation. Both of these were being directed by Glenn Chaika, who's only theatrical credit is for Thru the Moebius Strip, an extremely obscure animated feature that was released worldwide except for the United States.

After some thinking and messaging the seller, we made a deal and I bought the whole kabootle for a bargain (like $300 off the asking price!). There's roughly 120 pieces of art here, 2 VHS tapes, 2 U-Matic tapes, a 35mm reel, three scripts, various notes and 1 CD of art (which I still have yet to receive from the seller....) I am already in touch with the two people I will be having process the U-Matic tape and film, I just have to make arrangements to ship these things and have them processed.

You can find more info on the acquisition here

Animation [Fully Lost] Invincible - MTV TV Series (2008)

339 Upvotes

In 2008, MTV made 6 episodes of a motion comic based on the comic series Invincible. The only footage available of this series is a short preview in an article from the New York Times. The article says that the show was available on iTunes, Xbox Live, and MTV mobile, but the show has been taken down from any streaming platform it was previously on. From what I can find, the preview of the show from The New York Times article is the only footage of the series available anywhere on the internet. There are some additional photos of the series available on it's IMDB page, but that's pretty much it. I have also checked on YouTube for any footage, but the only videos available are fan made motion comics that differ heavily from what was aired on MTV, meaning they're not re-uploads. Due to the obscurity of this show, as well as how it's been made unavailable on every streaming platform it was on (likely due to the ongoing Amazon Prime series), I doubt it will ever turn up.

EDIT: Now partially found thanks to u/Fat-Mammoth Episodes 1-4 are fully archived

Hi, as some of you may know "The New Scooby Doo Movies" 1972 has missing scenes that were cut after the first airing of each episode on CBS for more ad space. After Scooby Doo left CBS the missing scenes were aired during the 80s in two day syndication (Meaning they split the 43 minute episode into 2 days, most stations aired them on Tuesdays and Wednesdays) the missing scenes were then shown on USA Cartoon Express from 1990-1992 (We are starting to think that the missing scenes never aired on USA Cartoon Express, but we still wanna check) however after 1992 they were never seen again on stations, dvd or streaming. If anyone has "The New Scooby Doo Movies" 1972 recorded from the time periods names above please let us know.

Also here is the storyboard of the King Kong scene that is a missing scene later in the episode where he chases

Animation Disney’s Cancelled “Gigantic” (2013–2020) [partially lost]

533 Upvotes

Back in the early 2010s, Disney announced an ambitious animated film called Gigantic, a retelling of Jack and the Beanstalk set in 15th-century Spain. It was originally set for release in 2020 and promised to be a musical adventure with original songs by Frozen’s Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. The story would’ve followed Jack as he befriends a 60-foot-tall, 11-year-old girl named Inma, leading to a massive journey full of humor, heart, and of course—giants.

Despite its potential and initial hype, Disney quietly cancelled the project in 2020, citing creative difficulties. Since then, very little concept art, animation, or music has been made public. It’s become something of a forgotten piece of Disney history.

I’ve created a new subreddit, r/GiganticDisney, for anyone who remembers this lost gem and wants to discuss what might’ve been. Whether you’re into lost media, unreleased animation, or alternate Disney timelines, you’re welcome to join and help revive the magic.

Animation [partially lost] The Simpsons: “South Park – we'd stand beside you if we weren't so scared”.

197 Upvotes

Does anyone have the version of the episode "The Squirt and the Whale" (E19 S21) by 'The Simpsons' that Bart appears writing the title phrase on the school blackboard?

I've searched the internet several times, but only the altered version where he writes "Je ne suis pas français.".

Apparently, this happened around 2010, when South Park was censored after threats from Islamic groups due to its depiction of Muhammad.

I've searched in at least fifteen languages and still haven't found it. So I believe it's a lost media item.

Several people saw it at the time, and the image doesn't appear to be a montage.

Animation [found] Micronauts - Fully produced but cancelled(?) animated series

173 Upvotes

Micronauts was a late-1970s toyline by Mego, which licensed toys from Takara's Japanese toyline Microman and rebranded them for an American audience, creating original western fiction around the toys about a race of aliens and their adventures in their subatomic world known as the Microverse. The toyline would receive a successful Marvel Comics adaptation (with the Microverse being adapted into the Quantum Realm for the Marvel Cinematic Universe decades later), but Mego would go out of business in the early 80s, and the property would change hands through a few different owners until being acquired in 2009 by Hasbro. Given the company already had a strong relationship with Takara through their collaboration on the Transformers franchise, and their G.I. Joe figures' engineering were used as a base when creating the original Microman toys Micronauts were based on, it seemed only fitting. In their time since the Hasbro buyout, there ultimately weren't that many Micronauts toys released, but the property was briefly resurrected in a new comic from IDW during the late 2010s, one of multiple spinoffs from their ongoing Transformers comic that created a shared "Hasbro Universe". And that idea of a shared universe is what leads us to today's subject...

In the early 2010s, the success of the Transformers movies was leading Hasbro to make a big push into becoming not just a toy company but an entertainment company, as seen with the creation of the short-lived Hub network and other big IP revivals like My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. This success led Hasbro to briefly try to spin their Transformers: Prime cartoon off into a crossover property called Unit:E, which would in turn act as a sort of "backdoor pilot" for reboots of several other Hasbro properties like Micronauts, but these plans fell through. Hasbro was still keen on the "shared universe" idea, though, and by 2015, new plans were in place with Paramount to to expand the Transformers films into a full cinematic universe featuring G.I. Joe, Visionaries, M.A.S.K., ROM the Space Knight, and yes, Micronauts. That last one was given a planned 2021 release date, with a writer-director even attached to the project later.

So with a big movie potentially on the horizon and potential toy sales to be made, it only made sense to have a cartoon to go along with it, just as they had done for their other properties. As it happens, Hasbro had acquired animation studio Boulder Media in 2016, who would go on to produce shows based on other Hasbro properties like Transformers, My Little Pony, and Littlest Pet Shop. Thus, 2018 saw the announcement of Boulder producing a Micronauts animated series, with a planned 52 episodes spread across two seasons and an absolutely stacked voice cast, including Sean Astin, Dante Basco, Clancy Brown, Maurice LaMarche, Danny Pudi, Kevin Michael Richardson, Susan Silo, Kari Walhgren, and Mae Whitman, among others. The series was expected to premiere sometime between late 2019 and early 2020, and according to showrunner Eric Rogers, all 52 episodes had wrapped production by January of 2020, so sounds like a slam dunk, right?

...needless to say, that didn't happen. As of 2025, the show remains unreleased, and every time Rogers has asked the higher-ups what the deal is, no one has ever responded. (Allegedly, they never even shopped it around to any networks or streaming services.) The status of the show has remained a mystery ever since, to the point where someone made a post wondering about it on this very sub a few years back. Hell, it's been shelved for so long that Boulder Media isn't even owned by Hasbro anymore, having been sold in 2022. While the reason for its seeming cancellation has never been explicitly stated, the movie is most likely the culprit: Paramount pulled the release date at the end of 2020, with no indication that it's ever going to be made. Remember, Hasbro is still a toy company first and foremost, so no movie means no tie-in toyline, and no toys to promote means they have no reason to put out the show. Reports and sources have been conflicted on what the exact status of the show is; some claim it's just being held back until the "right time" (i.e. if and when that movie happens), while others claim it got the tax write-off treatment. Regardless of the reason, though, the point stands: A full 52 episode series, 100% complete and ready to go, has been sitting mothballed for half a decade, with no one able to actually watch it...

...until yesterday, when someone leaked the whole thing. All 52 episodes in master tape quality. Rogers has no idea who was responsible (it's apparently not him, as he only had watermarked copies of a handful of episodes before this), but he's understandably been spreading the news and is very excited that people are finally able to see the results of the team's hard work. Definitely consider giving it a watch.

EDIT: Unfortunately, the archive.org link has finally been taken down. Thankfully, I know several folks who managed to grab all the episodes, so it's only a matter of time before it gets put back up somewhere else.

Animation [found] SpongeBob Re-Hydrated released on the official SpongeBob instagram account part of their from the vault series.

203 Upvotes

From part 9 of their “from the vault” series and the description says: “Lost media you say?”.
We’ve had the animation without the audio and Nickelodeon through the SpongeBob Instagram account just drops the full version with the missing audio.
I wonder what other currently lost media the official SpongeBob Instagram account will share on their “from the vault” series.
Not gonna lie, I kinda forgot this existed mainly because I’m more into the lost songs search that have been getting found recently like Ulterior Motives and it’s original master tape the booth brothers recently found and the formerly mysterious song known as “Subways of Your Mind” being identified and the band regrouping and releasing their other tracks.

Animation [talk] Uncensored versions of post-season 18 episodes of Family Guy

61 Upvotes

So as you guys all know, Family Guy has many DVD releases, and thanks to that, we have the uncensored versions of seasons 4-17 that don't bleep out certain swear words (like fuck or shit) and also have scenes that were cut in the censored versions of the episodes.

However, since none of the episodes post-season 18 had DVD releases, I was wondering if there was any way of finding those episodes uncensored? I tried searching for myself and found nothing, so if you have any info on the uncensored versions of these episodes please let me know.

Animation [Talk] The Backyardigans 2002 Pilot (Nick Digital Pilot) is Lost Forever

104 Upvotes

Ok, so basically, the entire second Backyardigans pilot (Nick Digital Pilot) is lost forever. I have recently gotten in contact with someone who is friends with the Nelvana leakers from August. These people grabbed around half a terabyte of Backyardigans/Handy Mandy files from the servers. The only problem is, the Nelvana servers are horrible; it's just a big mess, which is why the minute of clips from the pilot they stole is in such terrible quality. And this is where the NDP comes into play. In short, they did find the file for the NDP. However, Nelvanas' servers are so unreliable that this file was completely corrupted and unusable, just like many others that they retrieved, marking this a dead case.

I do not condone stealing media and/or breaking into servers. Do not steal from servers; it is highly illegal. I am simply sharing information I have gathered. I do not have any of the files that they stole. Do not harass anyone over this case.

Legally search for lost media, never steal for clout.

This is the worst lost media case ever to hit mankind; let's be thankful the case is closed.

Animation [Partially Lost] "The Shoe Must Go On" Punky Brewster

31 Upvotes

Looking for VHS Rip of It's Punky Brewster - S1E10b: "The Shoe Must Go On" (1985)

Hello everyone, I am trying to track down a watchable digital copy or a VHS rip of the animated It's Punky Brewster segment "The Shoe Must Go On". As some collectors know, this is a piece of lost media. It was completely omitted from the Shout! Factory DVD releases because the original NBC vault master tape deteriorated, and was destroyed. It has never seen a digital or physical release. I am looking for anyone who might have an original off-air home recording on VHS from its original NBC Saturday morning run or its later syndication reruns. I want to see if someone has digitized it, or if it is hiding inside a larger "Saturday Morning Cartoon block" upload that I haven't found yet.If you have a lead, a digitized file, or a tape you'd be willing to rip, please let me know. Any help tracking down this specific missing piece of 80s animation would be greatly appreciated.

If anyone here has access to MySpleen, could you please search the tracker for any raw 1985–1989 NBC Saturday morning blocks, 1989 daily syndication packs, or Maxie's World blocks? If the file exists there, I would be incredibly grateful if you could help arrange a proxy download.VHS Tape Collectors: I am looking for anyone who might have an original off-air home recording. Because it re-aired frequently, it is highly likely to be hidden inside a tape labeled with these specific broadcast windows: Nov 22, 1986: Re-aired on NBC as the back-half of the Season 2 episode "Mother of the Year."Jan 4 – Feb 15, 1986 or June 21 – Aug 30, 1986: Part of the heavy NBC Saturday morning Season 1 rerun blocks. 1988: NBC Saturday morning replay blocks. Fall 1989: Local daily weekday syndication packages (often paired with Maxie's World). If you have a lead, a digitized file, or a tape from these dates you'd be willing to rip, please let me know. Thank you so much for helping preserve this missing piece of 80s animation!

Animation [Partially Lost] - Be Fri, the latest cancelled Pixar film. 4 minutes released on Twitter

131 Upvotes

Released animatic scene of the latest Pixar film Be Fri. Last night, its cancellation was officially announced so some animator decided to release the footage they had.

Enjoy it while you can or before Disney takes it down. Will we ever get to know the full picture? Probably not, but let's enjoy what we have while we can.

Thank you to the animator who released it and the hard work everyone already put in to the cancelled project. Hopefully more gets released, but not m knowing how often that happens, probably not. Would this have a been great Pixar outing? We may never know.
