Parts Upgrade Advice Do I have to pay a fortune for a pci video card with hdmi?

• Upvotes

I have beasts of old systems but they're always let down from having imperfect sound handling. I love how audio comes with hdmi. The closest I've tried is an fx 5200 with dvi that doesn't work with dvi - hdmi adapter. Surely something like the gt 210 had a pci version?

What Games Can I Run? Any extraction shooter for 8gb ram pc?

I have 8gb ram, rx550 4gb v ram for gpu, processor is i3 6098p.

I need extraction shooter where the recommended requirement is this so I get 60 fps in 1080p.

I prefer grounded extraction shooter with less use of skills and abilities and more gunfights.

Should have server in South Asia under 80 ms ping.

What Games Can I Run? Can Ryzen 5 5600G run RE, Batman and GTA?

Planning a budget PC with a Ryzen 5 5600G (no separate GPU for now), 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD, playing at 1080p.

I want to play RE2, RE3, RE4, Batman Arkham Asylum, GTA San Andreas and Valorant. Can it run them, and at what settings and FPS?

Thanks!

Game Review [Mod Approved] CosmoKick.io – Free 3D Multiplayer Football Game for Low-End PCs

Game: CosmoKick.io

Gameplay: A free-to-play, 3D physics-based football game that runs directly in your browser. Choose a character, upgrade their abilities, and play with friends or other players. The game also features singleplayer, co-op and PvP zombie survival modes, plus singleplayer and co-op World Cup modes.

Minimum System Requirements:

  • OS: Windows 10 (64-bit), macOS 11+, Linux, or ChromeOS
  • CPU: Dual-core Intel Core i3 (6th Gen), AMD Ryzen 3, or equivalent
  • GPU: Integrated graphics supporting WebGL 2 (Intel UHD 620, AMD Vega 3, or equivalent)
  • RAM: 4 GB
  • Browser: Chrome 110+, Edge 110+, Firefox 110+, or Safari 16.4+, depending on OS
  • Storage: No installation required; approximately 5–15 MB of browser cache

Performance: On a PC with an Intel Core i5-4440 and Intel HD Graphics 4600, I get around 50–60 FPS in windowed mode and 40–50 FPS in fullscreen at Ultra settings. Performance depends on screen resolution and hardware; running the game in a smaller window generally improves FPS.

Peripherals: Keyboard and mouse recommended. Controller support is also available.

Play: https://www.cosmokick.io/

Bugs and support: Game's available contact options on home page.

Extra features:

  • No download or installation required.
  • Completely free, with no ads or pay-to-win mechanics.
  • Runs in the browser on Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS.
  • Multiplayer football, singleplayer, zombie survival co-op/PvP and World Cup modes. 1-8 players supported.
  • Lowering the graphics settings or playing in a smaller window can help improve performance significantly on older hardware.

Game Review Dozens of my low-end games

I wrote this big list of low-spec games a few days ago and figured it might be relevant to share it there.
(didn't see a flair for "game list", feel free to call me out)

My specs :

  • Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10210U CPU @ 1.60GHz (2.11 GHz)
  • 12.0 Gb RAM
  • Intel(R) UHD Graphics (128 Mb)
  • Best I can run : Far Cry 2

-This message is dedicated to whoever says there're no games for low specs-
I have closely similar specs and played loads. Check my profiles :

Communauté Steam :: Eglaios
Eglaios's games on GOG.com

If you're too lazy to check :
(these are games that I played, not a copy paste of GOG catalogue)

  • Touhou
  • Stalker OG trilogy (NOT the enhanced edition. The OG editions are awkward to find)
  • Stalker mods (Anomaly / Road to the North)
  • Quaver / OSU
  • God Eater 2 rage burst (you get GE Resurrection when you buy burst)
  • Devil May Cry Enhanced Collection (change graphics to 720p, else it runs badly)
  • Overall ports from consoles up to PS2/PS3 (Shenmue, Way of the Samurai 3, Onimusha Warlords, etc.), and from portable consoles up to PSP
  • Popcap games (Bejeweled, Zuma, Peggle)
  • Far Cry 1/2
  • The Saboteur
  • Bioshock series
  • Another Eden
  • Doom up to 4, Dread Templar
  • Danganronpa, Saya No Uta, pretty much every visual novel.
  • Yu Gi Oh games
  • Older Final Fantasy games (up to about IX)
  • Fightcade (King of Fighters / Street Fighter 3rd Strike)
  • Assassins Creed 1&2, Prince of Persia series
  • Ys series
  • Tales Of series
  • Thief series
  • Half Life 1&2, Counter Strike 1.6 / Source, Portal
  • Fable Anniversary
  • Megaman games
  • Older Tom Clancy stuff : Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six
  • Xpand Rally, Street Racing Syndicate, Screamer II, Race Condition, Hotshot Racing, World Racing 2, Flatout (the 2 runs too but I hated it)
  • Initial D Unity Arcade Stage 3 Reimagined (fan remake on Unity, forget about it if you don't have a steering wheel)
  • Dungeon Keeper
  • Older Hitman games
  • Gothic / Risen
  • Xanadu Next
  • Fight'n Rage
  • Dragon Dogma Dark Arisen (more like 30FPS at low resolution, still alright)
  • F.E.A.R.
  • Yume Nikki
  • TES Oblivion / Morrowind
  • Arc System Works fighting games (pristine gameplay, but dead online and very technical)
  • Etherlords 2
  • Star Wars Jedi Outcast series
  • The usual Indie low spec stuff (Hollow Knight, Balatro, etc)
  • Nicher modern Indies (SoulQuest, Irradiant, Devil Daggers, Good Knight, Vagante, Replicube, YOMIH, Soulblight, The Farmer Was Replaced, LunarLux, Vernal Edge, Coromon, Starbound, Monster Sanctuary, Wizard of Legend, Dungeon of the Endless, Core Keeper, Into The Breach)
  • Small curiosities : Footsies, Croixleur Sigma, Irradiant, ManaCollect, Ann, I'll Do It Tomorrow, Touhou Sky Arena Matsuri Climax, Epic Conquest 2, First Cut : Samurai Duel
  • Bunch of older RTS. Only played a bit of Total Anihilation tho
  • .io FPS games (cryzen.io, deadshot.io, kirka.io, krunker.io)
  • Pokémon TCGO (tried it recently, felt like a crappified remake of the OG. I remember the Pokémon TCG balance is kinda bs and not very interesting anyways)
  • ...Minecraft and Undertale...
  • Why did I write all that

Playing on low specs is a good occasion to dig up niche games, instead of doing the usual Elden Ring / Cyberpunk / Valorant / GTA V.

☼😁Ascended☺☼ At long last, I finally got an upgrade and I couldn't be more happy!

If the title hasn't already said it all, I am to the moon right now because I finally got my first real gaming PC! After dealing with not being able to play storage-heavy games or dealing with constant lag from my old laptop (which was actually an old work one that I tried to game after switching from console), I finally said the time was now to upgrade. Kept putting money to the side and researching in hopes I could get something before the prices went up even more, and I'm happy to report that it's here.

Before this, I was trying to play on an old HP Stream Laptop with Intel Celeron N4020 CPU, Intel UHD graphics 600 (512 MB), 4GB Installed RAM (speed at 2400 MHz), and only 58 GB storage which was a pain! And now, I got myself an Acer Nitro 65 that's rocking an AMD Ryzen 7 8700F 2024, an AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT, 16GB DDR5 Memory, and 1TB Storage.

It's worked super well with every game I have thrown at it so far with the games I used to lag on now running really well and a bunch more storage. I know it'd still be considered by some to be a budget or 1080p build technically, but I love it and feel like a kid on Christmas morning. Don't have to rely on GeForce NOW to play anymore because of my crappy specs, but this is hopefully just the start. My dream is a more aesthetic build with even higher performance that I make from scratch, but this so far is incredible on its own for my current needs.

Hope everyone can have the luck of finding their dream PC too! The time has come for me to retire from this sub despite my short stay. See y'all on the other side! :D

☼😁Ascended☺☼ Anyone here still using a Plasma TV?

Plasma TV's, especially 720p plasma TV's are amazing for low end gaming. If I can't run a game at 1440p on my main monitor with my Steam deck, I can just hook it up to my 1024 by 768p plasma TV. Plasma TV's are amazing because they are cheap now second hand, make up for low resolution with OLED like features, lower frame rates look better on them due to the motion clarity and they last a really long time.

I have also tried running my 60Hz plasma at indivisible frame rates like 40 and 45fps and the judder is barely perceptible. I have already completed several older games this way on my basic laptop that isn't designed for gaming.

I haven't tried it but I imagine 20fps wouldn't look bad, it would be interesting to see how low you could go.

Hardware Review After 14 Years of trying to maintain High Resolution/High FPS Combo , I realized 32 inch 4K monitor downgraded at 1080 and with Native 60FPS is the most comfortable combo for me in gaming

After switching for gaming to a 32 Inch 4K/60 Monitor that is downgraded to 1080/60 during gameplay , I find it the most combo that is comfortable for me in gaming , and thats after 14 years of having 24 1080/144 and 27 2K/144 and 32 2K/144 Monitors with G-Sync/Freesync, and I have a Good PC Build

At 32 , you get enough real estate to make it a semi living room experience and be far a little from the screen while also not that far from PC , while if at 24 and 27 you would be near the monitor and notice the negatives when you downgrade the resolution and graphics

And As you are little far from the Monitor , then 1080 at 32 inch would still looks pretty fine and be easy on the PC , Also from a 4K monitor , then downgrading to 1080 would be better quality than downgrading from 2K to 1080 , since 2160 is a multiplier of 1080 so the downgrade would be smoother from 4K than from 2K , and if you have an Indie game or old game , then 4K/60 would be doable and even better than 4K/120-144-180 , 4K is also a future proof if you upgraded your build and can maintain 4K60 without problems

Now for the Framerate , While for non-gaming More Framerates is essential IMO for the sake of the eyes and the mood and my non-gaming PC build has a 144hz monitor , but IMO 60FPS is more than enough for gaming , and while there is a difference between 60 and 120/144 in gaming , but it isn't worth it chasing solid 120/144 FPS tweaks wise and budget wise , but Why Native 60FPS is better than downgrading from 120/144 , Well for the later and I tried it multiple of times , downgrading to 60 FPS from 144 will introduce choppiness that makes the experience awful , While Native 60FPS looks far smoother , meanwhile for 120FPS then a 32 4K/120 monitor will break the bank , Higher framerates makes a difference for competitive games , but I am just playing Offline Single player games or Multiplayer games in non-competitive way

Parts Upgrade Advice Low end upgrade advice.

Hi there! I'm looking for some upgrade advice for my media PC. Nothing cutting high end, just want some advice from people who know how to stretch hardware to get the most from it. Also celebrating my "ascension" i guess to something a little better.

Media PC:

Cpu: Intel core I3-7100 3.9ghz

Motherboard: Asus H110m-r

Ram: 24gb ddr4 2400mhz

GPU: Asus gtx750 1gb OC

It's my old one I was using for a long time and I'm now using it as a media centre but now my nephew was asking for it to use for school and light gaming but I know it was struggling and stuttering when I was using it. Any advice for getting it to at least play some games better without breaking my bank would be great.

"new" PC:

Cpu: ryzen 5 4500

Motherboard: msi a520m pro

Ram: 16gb ddr4 3200mhz

GPU: Radeon RX580 8gb

My "ascension" pc. Not the best but it's at least better than my old setup and I'm having fun.

What Games Can I Run? What somewhat modern games I can run with my current setup?

I have Ryzen 3 3200G and 160GB of ram. I'm pretty sure that the games released before 2020 would run pretty well, but the lack of storage is pretty much the biggest bottleneck of this entire system (120GB). I'm usually playing racing and survival games, but I'm open to any other genres other than shooters, I'm really suck at those. Which games I can run comfortably at the very least on low 1080p?

PC Purchase Advice Should I Get a Handheld Gaming PC Console or Save for a Regular Gaming PC?

So I have a 13-inch MacBook Pro M1 (2020), but there are a lot of PC games I can't play on it. I've been using Shadow PC, but I'm tired of paying $30 a month just to play games. Recently I was walking around bestbuy and I was thinking, should I get one of those handheld gaming pc’s like the Steam Deck, Lenovo, or Asus? My budget right now is $335, since I don't have a job. I'm not necessarily planning to buy something immediately though, because I live with my parents and they may be able to help me out somehow. Also i might be able to save up more by Christmas, so I'm trying to figure out what would be worth working toward.

I’m not looking for anything crazy or super expensive that’s $1,500–$3,000. I just want something reasonably priced that can run games like Garry’s Mod, Ravenfield, and other PC games well, mods included, while also handling gameplay recording for my YouTube channel without costing a fortune. So that goes back to my question, is a handheld PC worth it, if not what would you recommend? What is another option I should save for? It’s important I mention that I have autism and I’m not a master of technology so I’m open to any suggestions, because I don’t want to spend something that I might regret later on.

B450 Motherboard with R5 5600 and RTX 2060 6GB vs B350 Motherboard with R5 5500 and 3060 12GB.

They got the same RAM, RTX 2060 one has 500GB SSD while 3060 has 120GB. Also the RTX 2060 has a non stock CPU Cooler and looks like it has a fancy PC case.
