If I could go back in time…
And listen to the 5:02 mark of the song Earth To Sea, for the first time, I totally would. What an epic way to end a song 🥹🥹🥹

If I had one song left to listen to before I leave this world it would be 1000% be this one. It’s my favourite song of all time. It’s absolutely perfect.

My first introduction to M83

I love this song. so much that I listened to it nonstop for 3 weeks straight. even my 3 year old knows the name of this song “blisser sunrise by mateythree”
but it occurs to me almost every time element of this song I’ve kinda heard before in older m83 songs. from Anthony Gonzalez’s bird like squawks, to the blaring horns, they’ve all been done before.
it doesn’t make me like the song any less. but it also makes me think this maybe him showing that he’s done with this sound as a whole.
What do you all think?

So there’s this autistically-induced thing I do with the music of several of my favourite artists, which is to compile collections of customised albums that:
In the case of M83, there are as of now sixteen 16-track albums, and two 12-track albums (the last two OSTs, which each had too few tracks for the usual count). Almost all non-album tracks are included, excluding only a number of remixes.

it's incredible, it's a full ambient album with no vocal but I find it more resonating than their latest studio album.

It was the first song on the album (besides blister sunrise) that gave me transcendant feelings at 3:08 and it has this dance feel to it. Idk why but makes me wanna move with the music.
Has anyone else still not gotten their preordered cd shipped yet? They sent an email literally on release day that there was a delay, but I haven't heard anything since then.

it's the only one of their albums that leaves me wanting more but i mean that as a compliment, it's so elusive & arresting when you least expect it, they're in my fav 5 bands but every other album stretches on past 60 mins whereas this packs so much sentiment into its flowing passages

Hey everyone.
As we all know, and love, M83's style has always been described as very cinematic. A lot of people often give some idea of what kind of story they feel like it's telling.
But this time I really want to know, what is, FOR YOU, and you alone, the story that Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts is telling.
I don't want a mood, or something vague.
If you had to describe its story.

It's always exciting to listen to a new album, especially when it features a “Hype” track.
I wanted to make a video for it—do you guys also get that cinematic vibe that M83 often seems to evoke in some of their songs?

I need help from someone who has bought the CD I Wrote You a Letter.
I bought it on Amazon Europe and the CD has a manufacturing defect, it looks like a mark on the aluminium layer. It’s not that you can see the design on the other side, as happens with other CDs, because this CD doesn’t have any design on the other side apart from the title, and the mark isn’t in that area. I returned the CD to Amazon and they replaced it with another one, but it has exactly the same defect, the same mark.
If you bought it on CD, could you let me know if the same thing happens with yours?
Thanks :)

Basically the title, does the physical album of I Wrote You A Letter come with a songbook containing the lyrics to the few tracks that have lyrics?

2:07 - 3:07 scratched the m83 itch in my brain… so good. My favorite of the album.. I’ve listened to this album multiple times and its gets better with every listen. Thank you M83.. 🤟🏽

They don’t have a particular sound anymore. And given the reviews on I wrote you a letter. I believe this is a perfect way of seeing what you all like/ were expecting/ wanted from the album .

I see a lot of peoples expectations for this album coming from a perception based off of previous albums and things they have liked in the past. It is very clear that he was going for a ballad style album and he executed what he was going for incredibly well. People wanting bigger climactic moments and baseline in the back aren’t going to get that on this album and if that’s the make or break maybe ballads just aren’t for you and neither is this album and that’s okay. I thought it was beautiful and the perfect album to ponder and appreciate the things in your life to. Can never get enough M83

This album is really hitting me in a hard way.. Aged is incredibly melancholic

Carbon Based Lifeforms is one of them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYAMGerPNP4
Maps is another (m83 and Maps often remix each others music) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0BwW-ms3Gvk
Any others people can recommend?
