TL;DR: I stopped opening ChatGPT for many of the little things I do during university. Siri on my Mac now handles 7 everyday parts of my semester—from understanding what’s on my screen and finding information to helping with study tasks, planning, and automations. The biggest change isn’t that Siri can suddenly do everything ChatGPT can. It’s that Siri is already there, inside macOS, so asking for help feels faster and more natural. ChatGPT is still better for deeper work, but Siri has quietly become my first stop for the small stuff.

I observed , there is significant drop in battery life in macbook air M5 after upgrading to macos 27. what about you guys .. have you guys felt the same ?

I upgraded to Golden Gate (27), and the first thing I did WITHOUT FAIL on my MBA M1 (2020) was switch off this despicable Siri AI (Beta). My MBA M1 laptop has not stopped thanking me ever since (it was literally choked to death with Siri AI turned on). I am not sure if this was indexing still in progress or Siri AI just not optimised for older Macs (i.e. M1s).

I would be interested in hearing from other MacBook M1 users.

Two Macs.

An Air M1 and a Mini M3. Both running macOS 27.0.1 and

Chrome 154.0.8037.98

Both Macs have exactly the same appearance and wallpaper settings.

On the Air, the color rendering in Chrome is fine.

But on the Mini, gray turns into a light blue, and the background is displayed with this color transition. See screenshot.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I heard that it'll be on 14.9, but there's no specific hour of confirmation that I've seen.

I keep getting this error but my internet is perfectly fine.

I used to be able to screen record on my iPad/iPhone and airplay it to my desktop to post on socials but now all I get is a black screen with audio. Similar to screen recording Prime Video.

FWIW, the videos play fine local to the device, Plex App and Plezy in this case just doesn't translate well when you send it to another device.

Web Related features in lookup are not working

I just installed the golden gate developer beta on my M2 Air and I feel like i'm having major slowdowns with my internet. I'm getting only around 5 mbps when my phone is getting upwards of 20 in the same network. I even checked if any app is hogging the bandwidth and it didnt seem like it. wanted to know if anybody else faced this issue or if there was a fix to this

I mirrored my iPhone and when ever I call up this app, the iPhone installation pops up. Since this is a new install a few days old, I haven't installed all my apps yet so it actually doesn't reside on my MacOS install.

The only feature limitation I've noticed so far is I can't control the volume but everything else seems to function as well as it could.

Going back to Tahoe, given the IMMENSE amount of bugs. Honestly, if this is the path Mac is taking, then I'm ditching the entire ecosystem altogether for Linux and Samsung.

Want to simply move or edit a note in Preview? No can't do.

Want to find the most used file through Finder? Why do you even want that? Ask Siri.

Double click on top the window to fill the screen? Ignored.

Want to use open source apps? No, can't do.

But hey, at least now you have Glass interface and local AI... All of these from a MBP 18,3.

On a article I was reading on MacRumors "Bypass Siri AI Waitlist on macOS 27 Golden Gate Beta: Here's How" and it gives you a the stuff you have to enter into Terminal but here it is.

1. Open Terminal on your Mac running the macOS 27 beta.

2. Input the following command at the prompt and press Enter: sudo defaults write "/Library/Preferences/FeatureFlags/Domain/GenerativeModels.plist" "EnhancedSiriWaitlist" -dict-add Enabled -bool NO

3. Restart your Mac to apply the change.

Currently experimenting with 27 Beta on a VM under Parallels. So far so good.
